If you can't beat 'em, join em! That is the motto behind Porsche's latest investments, which makes us ask if Bugatti is being sold to Rimac. Reuters reported over the weekend that Mate Rimac is launching a new round of fundraising. Industry journal Automobilwoche mentioned that Mr. Rimac is looking for an injection of around $181 million.
Since Porsche already owns 15.5%, they could up their stake to 50%. This would be done by shifting control of Bugatti to Rimac, and it would still remain the flagship of a happy VW family.
