The Bugatti Bolide Gets A Road-Legal Makeover By Lanzante

Lanzante takes on the ultimate challenge, converting two 1,600-hp Bolides into street-ready hypercars.

While options and packages have traditionally drawn buyers toward buying the latest supercars and hypercars, recent trends show a growing appreciation for stripped-back, track-focused examples built to deliver a more authentic racecar experience. It's a recipe adopted by brands like Bugatti and its track-only Bolide, an ultra-exclusive, 1,600-horsepower hypercar that represents the final iteration of Molshiem’s legendary W16 engine platform. Specializing in converting the world’s most coveted cars into road-legal drivers, the team at Lanzante has already welcomed two Bugatti Bolides to its headquarters in Petersfield, England, to undergo extensive road conversions to allow owners to legally drive their seven-figure track hypercars on public roads.

Although it takes a fair amount of R&D to rewrite the script, especially for a car that’s only just reaching its few lucky owners, it’s exactly the kind of challenge the engineers at Lanzante are already well known for in the automotive world. We’ve already witnessed the process on jaw-dropping, track-only icons like the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, McLaren P1 GTR, McLaren Senna GTR, Porsche 935, Pagani Zonda R, and Pagani Huayra R. The reveal of Lanzante’s newest project featuring the Bugatti Boilde came with a recent Instagram post showcasing two specs inside its facility, one completely stripped down while the other remains untouched, waiting its turn for disassembly. The knowledge and ingenuity that goes into further engineering one of the most advanced hypercars in its class just shows how confident and intelligent Lanzante is at executing an almost impossible task.

Without revealing the full details behind turning track-focused machines into road-legal performers, it’s clear that much of the work centers on meeting emissions regulations, integrating safety equipment, and improving everyday usability. Some of the more obvious upgrades for street use likely include proper lighting, improved visibility, and road-compliant tires, all of which are checked off through a meticulous conversion process that can take over a year to complete.

As the owners of these two Bugatti Bolides patiently await their specs, we cannot wait to see the day when they’re driving on public roads. Check out all the current Bugatti hypercar inventory for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the link below.
