    2020 SSC Tuatara Screams Across the Desert

    The race for 300 mph is getting hotter each day, and the team at SSC looks ready to fight. The Tuatara has finally found an engine that can utilize its slippery drag coefficient of 0.279. Tom Nelson routinely builds 2,500 horsepower beasts for racers around the world. In order to give it a unique sound and extreme RPM, it has a flat-plane crank to reach 8,800.

    Because this isn't a drag racing machine, power was dialed back to 1,750 (on E85). Still making 1,350 horsepower on 91 octane, it is the most American supercar to-date.
