Mid-Engine American Muscle: The Best C8 ZR1 and ZR1X Corvettes For Sale

Since Chevrolet introduced the mid-engine C8 Corvette, the model has taken an entirely different approach to performance than previous generations. Moving the engine behind the driver changed the car’s proportions and handling, giving Chevrolet a new platform to compete with supercars. Over the years, the lineup has grown to include several performance-focused versions, but the Corvette C8 ZR1 and ZR1X sit at the top. Both use a twin-turbocharged V8, though the ZR1X adds hybrid technology and all-wheel drive. The C8 Corvette ZR1 is powered by a 5.5L, twin-turbocharged LT7 flat-plane-crank V8 producing 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission sends power to the rear wheels. With the available ZTK Performance Package, Chevrolet reports a 0-to-60mph time of 2.3 seconds, a 9.6-second quarter-mile at 150 mph, and a track-tested top speed of 233 mph. The C8 Corvette ZR1X takes a different route by adding an electric motor to the front axle. It combines the ZR1’s 1,064 horsepower twin-turbo V8 with a 186-horsepower electric motor, for a combined output of 1,250 horsepower and an all-wheel-drive layout. Chevrolet has reported a 0-to-60mph time of 1.68 seconds and a quarter-mile run of 8.675 seconds at 159 mph on a prepared drag strip. For buyers browsing C8 Corvette ZR1s for sale or looking for a Corvette ZR1X for sale, the main differences are power delivery and drivetrain. The ZR1 offers 1,064 horsepower in a rear-wheel-drive package, while the ZR1X combines a similar V8 setup with electric assistance and all-wheel drive. Both share the mid-engine C8 layout, but they deliver performance in different ways. Dimmitt Chevrolet Welcomes A 1,250HP Corvette ZR1X to Its Florida Showroom

The Chevrolet Corvette’s evolution is one of the great American automotive success stories. What began as a somewhat simple sports car more than 70 years ago has grown into a performance powerhouse with deep motorsport roots and, in its latest form, the C8 ZR1X, horsepower figures that rival hypercars. And while anyone could walk onto a Chevy showroom floor to buy a Corvette like a pack of peanuts all those years ago, things are a little different nowadays, with demand certainly outnumbering the supply rolling off the production line in Bowling Green. The team at Dimmitt Chevrolet are returning to those old roots, excited to showcase a brand-new 2027 Corvette ZR1X as part of its available inventory in Clearwater, FL. The C8 Corvette ZR1X earns its status thanks to Chevrolet’s twin-turbocharged 5.5L LT7 V8 with an electric motor driving the front wheels. The V8 alone produces 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque, while the front motor adds another 186 horsepower for a combined 1,250 horsepower. Those numbers put the ZR1X in multi-million-dollar hypercar territory. Chevrolet reports a 0-60 mph time of just 1.89 seconds and a top speed of 233 mph. This example at Dimmitt Chevrolet, showcased in stock images, is finished in black with a Jet Black Napa leather interior and the range-topping 3LZ convertible configuration. It also has the Carbon Fiber Aero Package, including a high rear wing, along with the ZTK Track Performance Package, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, and carbon-ceramic brakes. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Carbon Flash forged wheels feature Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, while a front lift system with GPS memory helps deal with steep driveways and speed bumps. The retractable carbon-fiber hardtop can be used at speeds up to 30 mph, so drivers don't have to pull over every time the Florida weather cooperates.Inside, the 3LZ includes heated and ventilated seats, a head-up display, a 14-speaker Bose audio system, and a performance data recorder. The ZR1X also has a Stealth Mode that allows for short, all-electric drives, without waking up the neighborhood for early cars and coffee meets. For those interested in Chevrolet’s most powerful production Corvette, Dimmitt Chevrolet’s Clearwater showroom now has one to see in person.
