McLaren W1 First Drive: Ferocious Hypercar Transcends the Track

You know things are getting serious when McLaren rolls-out the ‘1’ suffix. The origin story is, of course, the very first road car McLaren ever built, the F1. Designed by visionary Formula 1 aerodynamicist and engineer Gordon Murray, it arrived in 1992 and rendered all other supercars obsolete. The tiny, lightweight F1 embraced carbon-fibre material technology, adopted a radical centre seat driving position with two passengers set back and either side and was powered by a 6.1-litre V12 engine from BMW that might as well have been passed down directly from the Gods. Game-changer? That doesn’t even come close to describing its impact, even if at the time sales didn’t come easy… The P1 was very different. Rather than a unique side project from the Formula 1 team, it was instead a statement piece for McLaren Automotive, a new road car division still in its infancy. It arrived in 2013 and was a wild-eyed showstopper. It traded the long-legged gait and supple suspension of the F1 for a weaponized hybrid system capable of delivering 903bhp and huge blue flames from its drainpipe exhaust. In Race mode, it lowered by 2-inches and its massive concave rear wing extended into the sky. The P1 was all about aerodynamic downforce, crazed acceleration and a snorting, angry soundtrack that mixed venomous twin-turbocharged V8 with the manic whirr of electric motors. Not so much a car as a force of nature. And now there’s this: The W1. It’s a true successor to the P1 with a similar brief and, on the face of it, it evolves rather than radically reinvents McLaren’s vision for the ultimate hypercar. This is not a criticism. How could it be when the result is this dramatic and has such staggering, other-worldly potential? The W1 has 1258bhp delivered to the rear wheels. It’s capable of 0-124 mph in 5.8-seconds, the quarter mile in 9.6-seconds at 167 mph and produces 2205lbs of downforce at 174 mph. The active aerodynamics – particularly a rear wing that extends way out beyond the rear of the car – are pure performance art and deliver massive aerodynamic efficiency. The result, aside from looking extremely cool, is that the W1 is McLaren’s fastest road car around a racetrack. Ever. Their benchmark circuit is the breath-taking Handling Track at the Nardo proving ground in southern Italy, where the W1 beats their previous benchmark, the flyweight McLaren Senna, by three seconds per lap. Or “a lifetime” as they call it in racing. Maybe two lifetimes! Core to the W1’s performance is the new ‘Aerocell’ carbon fibre tub. With integrated seats and a raised footwell to allow for inboard pushrod-operated front suspension – which in turn gives air a clean path to the huge underbody diffuser – it’s light, stiff, space efficient and has been instrumental in McLaren realising a full ground-effect concept. Just like last year’s F1 cars, which were the fastest ever made. There is also an active front wing and the aforementioned complex rear wing dubbed ‘Active Long Tail’. All of which is very admirable. But the ‘anhedral’ or gullwing doors and the fantastically shirnked-wrapped feel to the minimalist, highly-focussed interior are a pretty good side effect. The W1 feels special. Those fixed seats are perhaps a shade more upright than expected, and the driving position is less obviously racecar than, for example, the Aston Martin Valhalla or Ferrari F80. However, once you’ve adjusted the pedals (they move on a slider) and the delicate, slim-rimmed and alcantara-trimmed steering wheel, there’s an overwhelming sense of purpose. The cabin is so tightly tailored and imparts a sense of lightness and agility before you so much as start the all-new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which makes 916bhp all on its own and revs to 9200rpm. Reach up to a roof-mounted control panel to find the starter button. Maybe this fighter plane trope is a little corny, but somehow you feel thrilled rather than manipulated. The W1 has a sense of humour as well as all that motorsport-derived sophistication. There’s a short delay, but when the engine does fire it’s instant – as the high-powered hybrid system negates the need for an old-school starter motor. A sharp flare of revs tells you that this engine is hyper-responsive and angry. On some deep level your brain and body have been sent all the signals required to prepare for something new and intense. Ahead of us, an empty Mugello racetrack, so press and hold the blue button next to the red starter to select Race mode. The centre display graphic shows the W1’s transformation in real time as it lowers by 37mm at the front and 17mm at the rear whilst simultaneously undocking all that active aero goodness. Race mode is not road legal and is geo-locked. You can show your friends and neighbours the aero dance, but it won’t allow you to select a gear to actually drive unless you’re at a circuit. Incidentally, the rocker switches either side of the display binnacle allow further options now: Toggle up the Handling control on the left for Race+ (for F1-spec super smooth tracks) or stick to Race for gnarlier ones. On the right toggle select ‘GP’ for sustained performance over a stint or ‘Sprint’ to unleash all 1258bhp for a time attack. There’s also a DRS and Boost function on the steering wheel. But I guarantee you won’t have the mental capacity to use them… Exit the pitlane, pin the throttle and W1 takes maybe a millisecond or two to gather its might (the gearing stretches to around 60mph in first, nearly 100mph in second, primarily to aid traction), but then lunges at the first turn with incredible ferocity. It instantly feels light, almost like inertia is no longer a thing. McLaren really does prize lightweight engineering, and at 3084lbs (dry) the W1 has a 278lbs advantage over the Ferrari F80. Plus, Ferrari uses figures for cars fitted with every single carbon fibre option. In reality, the gap is probably wider still. The impression of agility and stunning control continues as the track is unravelled at startling pace. The electric motor mounted to the side of the new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission is good for 342bhp and 324lb ft and it boosts any low rev lethargy the new flat-plane crank V8 might have (spoiler alert: It doesn’t appear to have any), so the W1 just feels massively, almost impossibly powerful at any revs. Even so, there’s real reward for wringing it out to 9200rpm and the power curve feels superheated but organic, too. In Race mode the steering – still hydraulically powered – has less assistance and it is noticeably heavier than other McLarens. However, that resistance is welcome as it gives you something to push against and imparts so much information about the front grip level. New Pirelli Trofeo RS tyres with a bigger front footprint than P1 or Senna really help. The front-end feels incredibly secure and the rear-axle follows with perfectly-aligned precision. The whole car feels super-stiff, completely locked into the surface and inspires confidence, but there’s an inherent agility and adjustability that means you’re quickly confident to push at its limits and really impose yourself on the chassis. It’s such a complex car but the driving experience is intuitive, and the driver feels a key contributor rather than just amazed (or terrified) observer, holding on for dear life. Every dynamic ingredient really is shockingly effective and yet has a subtlety and lightness of touch. From that delicious steering to the incredible brakes, the W1 just feels so mission-focussed, so hooked-up. Only the new 8-speed gearbox is a slightly disappointment. It’s fast and punchy, but after the scintillating energy of the Ferrari F80 ’box it feels competent rather than inspired. Other quibbles – it’s okay to quibble when the starting price is $2.1-million before tax and destination charge. Well, that new twin-turbocharged V8 sounds tightly wound and aggressive but if you have a P1 tucked in the garage you’ll miss the snorting, Darth Vader-style soundscape and all the drama that goes with it. Ferrari does this better, too. The F80 sounds deathly dull from the outside but is a riot of turbochargers, electric motors and all sorts of mechanical fury within the cockpit. Even so, the W1 is wildly entertaining on track, and the rear-drive configuration makes it more of a challenge and more satisfying than the F80 when chasing lap times or just sliding around for fun. In the Ferrari, you must second-guess what the front e-axle might do, whereas in the W1 it’s all on you. There are plenty of tools to help, including the ingenious Variable Drift Control, but somehow the W1 is more heroic. Or at least fools you into feeling more heroic – which is surely the point! On the road? Nimble, loaded with feel and sublime response. The ride is noticeably tougher than, say, a 750S but the control is ramped-up too, and with a bit more speed the whole car finds a delicious rhythm. Sport mode for the drivetrain brings some nice turbo whooshes and chirps, but the noise remains high-quality rather than extreme excitement. It is perhaps the one area the W1 feels just a little too tame. Of course, there’s nothing tame about the raw performance… which is genuinely shocking and literally hurts your neck muscles after a few hours. How McLaren has given the W1 such immense traction through just two driven wheels is beyond me. So, is it worthy of that ‘1’? I think so. Perhaps we won’t be talking about $25-million auction results for the W1 in 30 years from now, as we are for the F1. Perhaps it doesn’t quite have the amazing presence and jaw-dropping star quality of the simply gorgeous P1. But it is such an intense experience and the way it marries stunning track performance with delicate poise and entertainment on normal roads is something akin to magic. Maybe not ‘the one’ but definitely a searing, outrageous addition to McLaren’s fiercest family line. Just 399 W1’s will be built and they’re all sold. I’m not surprised at all. 1-of-3: 2007 Saleen S7 LM Debuts on duPont REGISTRY Live

A 2007 Saleen S7 LM, chassis LM-004, has just been listed on duPont REGISTRY Live, becoming the 10th and final car and one of the crown jewels of the SFX Collection that we featured earlier this week. The Saleen S7, widely considered America's first production supercar, broke cover in 2000 as Steve Saleen's first clean-sheet production car after decades of reworking Ford performance models. A carbon-fiber body, purpose-built chassis, and mid-engined layout were designed to take on the very best from Europe. Twin turbocharging was added in 2005, and fewer than 100 examples were built across road cars, race variants, and special editions. Ardent readers of duPont REGISTRY will remember that a yellow example featured on our cover in our October 2005 issue. More recently, the S7 featured yet again in our Best Manual Supercars for sale and 10 Fastest American Production Cars lists, and now we have this Le Mans edition up for grabs on duPont REGISTRY Live. Back in 2017, Saleen announced the S7 LM program as a tribute to the S7-R endurance racer, designating seven hand-selected S7s for conversion to Le Mans specification. Showing just 168 miles and finished in silver over black leather and Alcantara, the LM-004 is one of only three examples that were ever converted. Under the hood, you'll find a 7.0-liter twin-turbocharged Saleen V8, built on Ford Windsor architecture, that puts out 1,000 horsepower on pump gas and a claimed 1,300 horsepower with race fuel and the appropriate calibration. A six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential sends power exclusively to the rear wheels, with Saleen claiming a top speed in excess of 240 mph. <- Gallery -> The LM conversion, though, goes well past an engine upgrade. On the aero front, an adjustable biplane rear wing, race-inspired side skirts, an enclosed underbody with an aggressive diffuser, and revised bodywork all trace back to the S7-R racer. The dynamic abilities have been enhanced by revised double-wishbone suspension components, six-piston monoblock calipers, and staggered center-lock wheels on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The butterfly doors carry over, as does the Le Mans Edition getting Sparco seats in black leather and Alcantara with silver embroidered logos and silver-painted backs. 10-Cars from SFX Collection Being Offered on duPont REGISTRY Live

Much of the current docket on duPont REGISTRY Live is now made up of cars from the prestigious SFX Collection, with seven of the 10 cars already live on the platform, with the remaining three set to follow soon. It is one of the most diverse single-consignor offerings to appear on the platform and gives collectors access to everything from seven-figure American hypercars to limited-production European exotics and modern muscle cars, many showing delivery-level mileage. The crown jewels of the collection are two American hypercars that will be listed soon. Leading the lineup is a 2020 Ford GT Mk II,1-of-45 examples built worldwide. Developed jointly by Ford Performance and Multimatic as an uncompromising track-only evolution of the road-going Ford GT, the Mk II produces 700 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Built exclusively for circuit use, it replaces luxury appointments with competition-focused equipment, including Sparco racing seats, a Multimatic carbon-fiber steering wheel, and extensive aerodynamic enhancements. Ferrari F12tdf Test Mule Sets a New Benchmark as McLaren P1 Headlines Docket on duPont REGISTRY Live

14 automobiles crossed the block on duPont REGISTRY Live this week, with the Ferrari F12tdf Mulotipo MP4 delivering the standout result. A car that failed to sell at a major international auction house in May 2026 with an estimate of $1,000,000 to $1,300,000 crossed the digital block on this platform for $778,000, a new public record for the prototype and a result that illustrates what the No Reserve format produces when the right car meets the right audience. 13 lots are now open for bidding, led by a 2014 McLaren P1 with Generation 2 battery already bid to $2,300,095 with 12 days remaining. Lots Closed: Highlights The 2014 Ferrari F12tdf Mulotipo MP4 hammered at $778,000, surpassing its previous confirmed public result of $660,000 by 17.9 percent. For a development mule that cannot be registered for road use and is offered on a bill of sale, the result is a meaningful statement about how the collector market values factory provenance and documented development history. The 2006 Ford GT in Speed Yellow with full stripe delete, one of just two examples in existence with this combination, crossed the digital block at $583,000, a new platform high for the Gen-1 Ford GT and a clear premium over the standard-specification example that realized $517,000 here earlier this year. The 2021 McLaren 765LT with Roof Scoop, which led last week's docket, hammered at $591,995, consistent with the upper range of where the 765LT coupe has been trading across the broader market. A 2024 McLaren 750S Spider with full MSO bespoke build at a $599,000 MSRP crossed at $402,500. From Woking to Stuttgart and a 991.2 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS with Weissach Package in Chalk Gray crossed the digital block at $530,000. Staying with Porsche, a 996 2002 Porsche 911 GT2 in Guards Red closed at $285,000, a Racing Yellow 992.1 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring with carbon fiber roof at $214,500, and an Arctic Silver 996 2005 Porsche 911 GT3 with the Mezger flat six at $114,000. After appearing in three consecutive weekly reports, the 2017 Dodge Viper ACR-Extreme VoooDoo II, one of 31 produced, that hit the docket as our Independence Day special, went under the hammer at $453,777, closing one of the more closely watched price arcs the platform has produced this summer. Rounding out this week’s highlights are three lots from Italy: a 2018 Lamborghini Huracan Performante in Bianco Monocerus, which realized $351,000; a V12-powered 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello with gated manual, which realized $298,000; and a French market 1991 Ferrari Testarossa finished in Rosso Corsa, which went under the hammer on Friday at $160,000. Upcoming Lots: Highlights <- Gallery -> 13 lots are currently open for bidding, led by a 2014 McLaren P1 with a Generation 2 battery and 1,254 miles, currently bid to $2,300,095 with 12 days remaining. The Gen 2 battery specification is significant: factory replacement represents a meaningful investment in the car's long-term usability. With two other P1s crossing the block on the platform not too long ago, a Holy Trinity coupe at this level, with 12 days remaining, is a Lot worth closely watching. From hypercar to hypertruck, and this 2014 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 Brabus B63-S 700, one of 15 produced, is now bidding at $600,000 with three days remaining. A 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto finished in Nero Nemesis, the second example on the platform in less than a month, is bid to $581,000 with six days remaining. Two results in proximity now begin to establish a secondary market reference for Lamborghini’s flagship V12 hybrid model. Four Porsches span five decades in the current docket. Three are closing within two days: a Guards Red 997.1 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo with a six-speed manual and FabSpeed exhaust at $137,997, an air-cooled G-Body 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo in Talbot Yellow and matching color Fuchs Wheels as a Final Year example at $118,550, and a 991.2 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet with Sport Chrono Package at $66,510. Finally, a 996 2002 Porsche 911 GT2 in Arctic Silver with X-Code options sits at $151,000 with three days remaining. Given the platform's strong pattern of 996 GT2 results in recent weeks, this is another lot that warrants close attention. Representing American Muscle this week are two cars from the SFX Collection that make their platform debut. A 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 showing just 125 miles is bid to $92,000 with six days remaining, and a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Jailbreak sits at $43,000 with six days left. Representing American sports cars this week is a stealthy C8 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 3LZ with the Z51 Package, currently bid to $11,500 with five days remaining. As for off-roaders, highlights include an all-black 2024 Range Rover SV LWB with 1016 Industries bodykit at $136,786, a 2016 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG in the rare Solarbeam Edition at $75,500, both with just days remaining, and a custom white LS-Swapped 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser now bidding at $10,000 with four days left before the hammer falls. Euro-Spec 1991 Ferrari Testarossa Enters Final Hours on duPont REGISTRY Live

A pristine 1991 Ferrari Testarossa finished in Rosso Corsa over Nero Connolly leather will close later today on duPont REGISTRY Live. Offered as a French-market example, the car features several factory details rarely seen on the US-market cars, making it a particularly compelling example of Ferrari's iconic flat-twelve grand tourer. The Testarossa name traces back to 1957, when Ferrari first used it on the 250 Testa Rossa sports racer, named for its distinctive red-painted cam covers. Low-Mileage Carbon Black McLaren P1 With Gen-2 Hybrid Battery Hits the Block on duPont REGISTRY Live

A 2014 McLaren P1 is now live on duPont REGISTRY Live, making it the third example of the Holy Trinity's rarest member to surface on the platform. The first was a dark Palladium Gray coupe, while the second was the #2-of-5 P1 Spider by Lanzante in Gulf racing colors. This particular car is chassis #102 of the 375 produced worldwide, but one key detail that separates it from the vast majority of P1s currently on the market is McLaren's Generation 2 high-voltage battery, installed and documented as part of a comprehensive $568,904 service carried out by McLaren Chicago in late 2024. Announced by McLaren in 2022 and available to all P1 and P1 GTR owners, the Gen-2 battery derives much of its technology from the Speedtail. The new lithium iron phosphate cell weighs 110 pounds, compared to the original unit's 233 pounds, which translates directly into a 0.4-second improvement in the 0-to-186-mph run and 0.5 seconds per lap at the Nardo high-speed ring. McLaren claims it is a power-dense hybrid cell with improved regenerative recharge rates. A P1 with the Gen 2 battery is not just better maintained; it is measurably faster than it was from the factory. The aforementioned service visit also replaced the motor control unit, hybrid drive assembly gearbox, driveline damper, steering rack, electric water pump, and a significant number of ancillary components, resulting in one of the most comprehensively documented mechanical records available for any P1 currently on the market. The car shows 1,254 miles from new, with two personal owners from new, a clean title, and no reported incidents across both CARFAX and AutoCheck reports. The P1 is already the rarest of the Holy Trinity at 375 units against 499 LaFerraris and 918 Porsche 918 Spyders, and Carbon Black is among the least frequently specified finishes across the run, with enthusiast registries estimating between 35 and 40 examples worldwide. Nine cars crossed the block on duPont REGISTRY Live this past week, and the result that everyone was watching, delivered. The 1994 Bugatti EB110 GT Factory Prototype hammered at $3,625,000, surpassing the previous publicly documented high for any EB110 at public auction, GT or Super Sport, and setting a new benchmark for the nameplate. Last week's report noted this lot had material room to develop, and it did with a fierce bidding war in the final hour. Looking ahead, 14 lots are currently in the docket and now open for bidding, led by McLaren 765 LT, a Speed Yellow Ford GT, as one of just two in existence with full stripe delete, a G63 AMG 6x6 Brabus B63-S 700, one of just 15 built making its platform debut, and the Ferrari F12tdf development mule entering its final days of bidding. Lots Closed: Highlights The 1994 Bugatti EB110 GT Factory Prototype, chassis C13, hammered at $3,625,000. One of just 15 factory prototypes produced, this historically significant EB110 previously sold at RM Sotheby's Amelia Island auction in 2022 for $2,100,000. The figure surpasses the previous record of $3,167,500 achieved by a Bugatti EB110 Super Sport at Gooding Christie's Pebble Beach auction in 2022, representing an increase of more than 20 percent when factoring in the aforementioned buyer's premium on the latest result. Porsche delivered two GT2 results worth tracking. The 997.1 2008 Porsche 911 GT2, one of 185 produced, hammered at $525,000, surpassing the previous publicly documented high for the model and continuing the rerating of the generation as the last manual-only, rear-wheel-drive 911 of its era. A 996 2001 Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport, one of just 70 produced worldwide, crossed the digital block at $445,000, more than double its average publicly documented result. A 991.2 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T went under the hammer at $100,500 where as a 992.2 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS featuring a Satin PPF and packing Porsche's latest T-Hybrid system, closed at $178,000, not too far from its MSRP. 1-of-2 Ford GT With Factory Stripe Delete Hits the Auction Block on duPont REGISTRY Live

A Rare Opportunity to Acquire Ferrari's F12tdf Factory Prototype on duPont REGISTRY Live

A one-of-a-kind 2014 Ferrari F12tdf Mulotipo MP4, the only documented F12tdf-specific factory development prototype ever offered at public auction, is currently live on duPont REGISTRY Live. Ferrari factory prototypes seldom survive the development process intact, let alone reach the open market. This example is one of the handful of prototypes to have entered private ownership across the LaFerrari and F12tdf programs. duPont REGISTRY covered the F12tdf at its original reveal, a model reviving the Tour de France nameplate that honored the legendary endurance road race where the Ferrari 250 GT claimed nine overall victories between 1956 and 1964. Two Rare Factory Prototypes Headline a Diverse Docket on duPont REGISTRY Live

13 exquisite automobiles crossed the digital block on duPont REGISTRY Live this past week. If you have been following these recaps week after week, a few patterns are becoming hard to ignore. Mid-engine Ferraris continue to showcase strength, whereas collector Porsches continue to perform well, and dR Live’s No Reserve format keeps producing exceptional results. This week delivered all three, plus something rarer: two historically significant factory prototypes that were directly involved in the development of two equally compelling exotics are now sitting in the docket simultaneously, which is something that you don’t see often. A first for the platform. Lots Closed: Highlights Starting with the number that deserves the most attention this week. A 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia in Rosso Corsa, showing 18,235 miles, realized $630,000. Three Rosso Corsa Scuderia examples have now crossed the block on the platform in recent weeks, with prior results of $729,000 and $676,000 on significantly lower-mileage cars. The F430 Scudria currently has a dRi (duPont REGISTRY Index) value of $421,289 in the duPont REGISTRY Garage app and sits considerably higher than the standard Berlinetta’s DRi of $142,209. At some point, you have to stop calling these outliers and start asking whether they are the new baseline. The Scuderia is no longer being valued as a driver's car. Mileage is increasingly secondary to what the car represents. Staying with Ferrari, mid-engine V8 examples maintained their consistent presence on the platform. A 2022 Ferrari F8 Tributo in the Blu Tour De France 70 livery achieved $415,000, and a 1998 Ferrari F355 Spyder in the rarely seen Azzurro California finish realized $316,000. Back in 2024, we tested a highly optioned Grigio Telesto example that carried a sticker price of $612,858. Moving on to Porsche, a 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 RS completed through Porsche's Sonderwunsch personalization department with the Weissach Package achieved $564,000. That is a real number for a current-production car, and it tells you something about where the bespoke premium sits right now. A 964 994 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 in factory Paint to Sample Amethyst Metallic achieved $499,999, and a 997.1 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 with the Mezger flat six and Carbon Package realized $165,000. A 991.2 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera T, one of just 69 built with the seven-speed manual, crossed the block at $109,000. Then there is the 996 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo with 463 original miles and the factory AeroKit, hammered at $279,000. Rounding out the week, a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 in Manufaktur Moonlight White Magno achieved $130,000, a 2021 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster realized $94,000, and a 2021 Audi RS 6 Avant in Daytona Gray crossed the block at $81,000. Upcoming Lots: Highlights <- Gallery -> 11 lots are currently open for bidding, with two of them being unlike anything that typically surfaces at auction; factory prototypes rarely seen outside the manufacturer's own archive. Leading the docket is a 1994 Bugatti EB110 GT Factory Prototype, currently bid to $1,001,000 with two days remaining. This is chassis C13, a second-series carbon-fiber prototype built in 1992 on an Aérospatiale chassis, one of just 15 factory prototypes among the fewer than 140 EB110s ever produced. Originally finished in Verde Scuro, it made public appearances at the Bologna Motor Show in December 1992 and in London in February 1993, before being repainted in Bugatti Blu during the factory's Swiss and American homologation program in 1994. Following Bugatti's 1995 bankruptcy, it was acquired by Dauer Sportwagen and fully restored with a bespoke light grey leather interior. With two days remaining, the current figure has material room to develop. Staying with prototypes, the 2014 Ferrari F12tdf Mulotipo MP4 has just entered the docket at $15,500 with nine days remaining. Built in 2014 to validate the F12tdf's aerodynamics and drivetrain ahead of its October 2015 Mugello debut, this is the only documented F12tdf-specific development car to have appeared at public auction. One of the most unique characteristics of this prototype is that the front end carries production-specification F12tdf bodywork while the rear retains F12berlinetta specification, finished in Nero with white vinyl roundels characteristic of Ferrari's internal test fleet. It is currently not street legal and is offered on a bill of sale, but crucially, the 15 mph factory speed limiter has been removed. Moving onto Ferrari's production lineup, a V12-powered 2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano in Rosso Corsa with just 5,062 original miles is bid to $236,000 with six days remaining, alongside a Giallo Modena 1995 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta with a gated six-speed manual at $202,000, closing within three days. It is estimated that of the 1,180 or so yellow examples produced worldwide, only about 25% made it stateside, putting that figure at anywhere between 250 and 300. Porsche remains a consistent force in the docket, with four examples spanning two black examples from the GT2 lineage and current-generation variants. A 997.1 2008 Porsche 911 GT2, one of 185 produced, leads the group at $355,000 with three days remaining, joined by a Mezger-era 996 2001 Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport, one of just 70 built, at $300,000 with five days left. The more modern variety from Stuttgart this week includes 991.2 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera T with the Carrera T Interior Package, which is bid to $55,555, and a 992.1 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS with Satin PPF sits at $103,000, both with six days remaining. Representing American performance this week is this 2017 Dodge Viper ACR-Extreme VoooDoo II, one of just 31 produced that came online yesterday as an Independence Day special and is already bid to $399,000 with 10 days remaining. Porsche Sets a New Benchmark as Lamborghini Revuelto Debuts on duPont REGISTRY Live

Another landmark week comes to a close on duPont REGISTRY Live with 16 cars crossing the digital block, led by a 2010 Porsche 911 GT3RS hammered above the previous publicly documented high for the 997.2 with the 3.8 unit. Looking ahead, the Lamborghini Revuelto, the Raging Bull brand’s current V12 flagship, has been listed on dR Live for the first time and is part of a diverse lineup of 12 cars in the docket, now open for bidding, going into the weekend. Closed Lots: Highlights The headline result was the car leading last week’s docket, a 2010 Porsche 911 GT3RS in Grey Black over Guards Red, showing just 3,500 miles, which hammered at $671,000, exceeding the previous publicly documented high of $625,000 for a standard 997.2 GT3 RS with the 3.8 Mezger flat-six. Outside of the GT3 RS 4.0, the standard 997.2 carries two structural advantages driving this trajectory: it was the final GT3 RS offered exclusively with a manual transmission before Porsche moved the nameplate to PDK-only, and it retains the Mezger architecture with direct lineage to Porsche's GT1 and GT3 Cup programs. Sub-5,000-mile examples like this one in factory color combinations have carried a widening premium over higher-mileage cars for some time now, and this result confirms that the premium has not plateaued. A 2025 Maserati GT2 Stradale, one of 914 units and showing 1,900 miles, hammered at $361,000. Built around a 3.0-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6 with over 630 horsepower and roughly 60 kilograms (132 pounds) lighter than the standard MC20, the GT2 Stradale entered production too recently for a reliable public benchmark. Having said that, what is observable is that early transactions are clearing well above sticker price, a pattern more typical of limited-production Ferraris and Porsches than Maserati's recent history. Onto Porsche and a 2024 911 GT3 with the desirable Manthey kit crossed the block at $277,500 from 684 miles. A 2007 GT3 with its unmodified Mezger six hammered at $195,000, rewarding mechanical originality. A 1990 RS 3.8 tribute build with a Fabspeed exhaust closed at $172,000, and a 1996 Carrera 4S with a factory sunroof delete went under the hammer at $214,500. Porsche Speedster models with their low-slung roof and double-bubble hump carry a lineage that goes back decades, all the way to the 356, which is why these open-top sports cars remain highly sought-after regardless of generation. This week, a 964 1989 Speedster finished in Guards Red with just 8,000 miles on the clock, hammered at $191,000. The 2002 Acura NSX T finished in Silverstone Metallic with 5,136 miles, which we highlighted a few days ago, featuring on the platform for the first time, crossed the digital block at $211,500, while a 1988 Ferrari Testarossa with a freshly completed engine-out service closed at $150,000. A 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, the last V8-powered sedan to offer a manual, closed at $132,000 via the dR Drop 3-Hour Flash Auction, and a 1978 International Scout II rebuilt as a Super Scout tribute closed the week at $25,500. A 2025 911 GT3 RS completed through Porsche's Sonderwunsch personalization department with the Weissach Package leads the group at $426,000, with three days remaining; each Sonderwunsch car is built individually, beyond the standard configurator. A 1994 911 Turbo 3.6 in factory Paint to Sample Amethyst Metallic sits at $300,000 with six days remaining, and a 2019 911 Carrera T, one of just 69 examples built with the seven-speed manual, is bid to $101,000 with two days left. A 2004 911 Turbo with just 463 original miles and the factory AeroKit sits at $40,000 with six days remaining, and a 2007 911 GT3 with the Mezger flat six and Carbon Package rounds out the German marque's lineup at $16,000 with five days left. The remainder of the docket brings a useful variety outside the platform's usual core.
