James Bond Headed To Top Marques Monaco 2016

In this extraordinary homage to James Bond, visitors to the 13th edition of Monaco’s premier auto show will be able to see James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10; boasting a 4.7-litre V8 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. Daniel Craig drove this incredible machine in a spectacular high-speed car chase in the film. Supercar fans will also see the Jaguar C-X75 which Spectre’s villain Hinx drove in a chase with Bond through the streets of Rome. Created by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations division, the C-X75 produces 850bhp with a top speed of 200mph.The Range Rover Sport SVR, Land Rover "Big foot "Defender and Aston Martin DB5 which also featured in Spectre are available to view, as well as other 007 memorabilia brought to Top Marques by the PropShop, the company who produces gadgets for the Bond films.Another highlight of this year's Top Marques, the only live auto show in the world where visitors get to test drive the supercars on a F1 GP circuit and being held from 14th to 17th April in the Grimaldi Forum, is the Icona Vulcano. Made entirely out of titanium, the hypercar will be shown in final form for the first time ever at the Monaco show. Icona VulcanoTop Marques will also exhibit the Arrow by Apollo; with close to 1,000hp this hypercar built in Germany is financed by Chinese investors. The Donkervoort D8 GTO, one of the fastest street legal cars which exists today, will also be exhibited and may be test driven on parts of the famous GP track.Top Marques co-owner Steven Saltzman said: “We thank EON Productions and the producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for allowing us to feature the 007 Spectre supercars at Top Marques 2016." Apollo ArrowSince 2012 the Edmond de Rothschild group has supported this upscale event in Monaco, which every year asserts itself more as a vector of high tech and know-how. The alliance between the Edmond de Rothschild group and Top Marques illustrates the Group’s determination to promote innovation, creativity and excellence —three values at the core of the Group’s philosophy.Steven Saltzman added: “This is the best ever Top Marques. However, it would not be possible without the continuing support of our patron, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, who happens to be a huge James Bond fan. We are also very grateful to our title partner the Edmond de Rothschild group who is returning for the fourth year and shares in our passion for innovation and excellence.”“The Top Marques Show is clearly the place to be in Monaco. Innovation, creativity and excellence are the keys to success for our Group. Teaming up with the Show was a natural process in our Group’s vision," says Hervé Ordioni, Head of Edmond de Rothschild (Monaco). Aston Martin DB11One of the most intriguing global launches at this year’s show must be the ArcaBoard, a flying hoverboard straight out of the movie Back to the Future which will perform its' first public demonstration at the opening of Top Marques. As well as supercars and 'flying carpets', there will also be more than 50 luxury brands displaying their exclusive products in Luxury Lane, whilst more than 30 of the most exclusive watch and jewellery marques will be present in the Watch Pavilion.A complete list of exhibitors for Top Marques 2016 is available at www.topmarquesmonaco.com where visitors can also buy tickets – both premium, with access to the Supercar Restaurant and VIP Lounge, and regular one-day entries. There are also reduced tickets on Saturday and Sunday for families.Learn More

Das Renn Treffen – South Florida’s Largest Porsche Concourse

Porsche is undisputedly an iconic brand. Ever since the launch of the first 911 at the Frankfurt motor show in 1963, the ‘Porsche Mythos’ (translation: ‘the myth of Porsche’) has consistently grown. No other car’s shape is more recognizable. Few other brands have more history. No other make is loved as much as Porsche. On March 6th the second annual ‘Das Renn Treffen’ (translation: the race meet) will once again pay homage to this icon and unite hundreds of Porsche cars with thousands of enthusiasts in the streets of South Miami.Last year’s inaugural event featured 175 classic and new Porsche automobiles, among them a 1-of-7 Carrera G5 356 four-cam, a Carrera GT and a 918 Spyder. 6,000 visitors were awed by an unforgettable display. This year promises to be even grander with over 200 cars expected to register, showcasing almost 60 years of Porsche evolution. Judges and visitors will vote on their favorite cars in 21 categories of the curated concourse.Spectators have the opportunity to mingle with collectors to get first-hand details on every car.To add to the excitement, Magnus Walker of Urban Outlaw fame, joins Das Renn Treffen to share stories and sign autographs. Rumor has it that he is collaborating with Nakai-san of RWB at Miami’s Parkhaus 1 , the event organizer. And if all this was not enough, Bruce Hollander will exhibit his extensive collection of Porsche memorabilia publicly for the first time during the concourse. Over decades, he has preserved unique items such as the very first English-language Porsche brochure, printed in 1948, hundreds of Porsche race car and car models, and several rare ‘Hoffman trophies,’ which were awarded to deserving dealers in the 1950s by Max Hoffman, Porsche’s first importer in the US. Lovingly named “Porsche Obsession,” this collection is said to be one of the largest in the world.Das Renn Treffen, the largest Porsche gathering in South Florida, will certainly not disappoint and offers something for everyone. Especially if you, like us, love Porsche.Learn More

RM Amelia Island: The Ultimate in Performance

The collector car world turns its focus to Amelia Island, Florida next month for the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance weekend.  Beyond the concours itself, a highlight of the weekend is RM Sotheby’s annual Amelia Island sale at the Ritz-Carlton—the official auction of the concours—which will celebrate its 18th Anniversary, March 12. Over the years, RM’s Amelia Island auction has been witness to the sale of some of the world’s most important automobiles, and this year’s event will be no exception, lifting the gavel on more than 90 blue-chip automobiles. For those with a penchant for modern performance, we’ve highlighted our “picks” of the catalogue, which is available for viewing in full here.2014 Pagani Huayra Est. $1,900,000 - $2,200,000There’s only one word to describe the Pagani Huayra when it comes to performance, technology, and styling: phenomenal. Powered by a Mercedes-AMG V-12 engine producing a remarkable 720 bhp, the car can sprint from 0–60 in just 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 238 mph. Delivered new to the United States, the example on offer is striking in Blue Argentina and boasts just over 400 miles. With just 100 examples slated to be built—all of which are spoken for—it’s upcoming sale presents a rare opportunity to join a very exclusive club.View Lot2011 Ferrari 599 GTO Est. $650,000 - $750,000The first Ferrari to utilize the “Gran Turismo Omologato” nomenclature since the 288 GTO and the vaunted 250 GTO before it, the 599 GTO channels the mystique of its ancestors and their place in Ferrari history. At the time, the 599 GTO was the most powerful road car Ferrari had ever built, with 670 bhp on tap, eclipsing even the fabled Enzo. This particular example is differentiated from its peers by a stunning array of options: special-order Rosso Fuoco paint, a seldom-seen full Charcoal Alcantara interior, and a Bose Hifi audio system, just to list a few. Ferrari Classiche certified, it boasts just two owners and less than 7,200 kms from new.View Lot1985 Ford RS200 Evolution Est. $475,000 - $675,000The Group B regulations fostered some of the most powerful and most sophisticated rally cars ever built, including the Ford RS200. Holding the long-standing Guinness record for ‘fastest accelerating car in the world’, it could tear up the tarmac, propelling from 0–60 in just over three seconds. One of only 24 Evolution models built, the example on offer has been upgraded by the factory to 600 brake horsepower and is probably one of the most, if not the most, unused RS200s with less than 450 original miles.View Lot2005 Porsche Carrera GT Est. $750,000 - $850,000Utilizing a carbon-monocoque engine fitted with a naturally aspirated V-10, the Carrera GT was laden with a mesmerizing assortment of advanced lightweight racing-derived components. Originally developed by Porsche for the Footwork Formula One team, the mid-mounted engine would be the first V-10 engine used in a Porsche. It also proved to be the defining feature, providing the car with not only a breathtaking soundtrack but also incredible performance. The example on offer—a one-owner, lifelong Beverly Hills vehicle—shows a mere 1,184 miles and benefits from a fresh clutch and service (performed less than 10 miles ago).View Lot For further information on RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island offering or to register to bid, visit www.rmsothebys.com or call +1 519 352 4575.Learn More

Update: James Bond's Aston Martin DB10 Sells for £2.4 Mil...

In January, we reported on the sale of the infamous Aston Martin DB10 from Spectre, the latest installment in the James Bond story. Last night, at Christie's in London, the famed supercar held an audience captive as the auction for the DB10 began.Just a reminder-- this is the only DB10 that was made available for public sale, making it a truly exclusive masterpiece to add to any collection, and one auction attendee now holds the coveted title as the new owner. Last night's auction brought in an incredible final price of £2.4 million for the car, approximately $2.6 million USD.Christie's reported that Aston Martin's CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer, touted the DB10 as "one of the rarest cars ever created." He further specified the only 10 DB10s were fashioned, and those 10 will be the only ones every made. This particular DB10 for auction, will be the only one ever available for public sale. What's more, the over $2.6 million raised in the auction will benefit Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), known in the United States as Doctors Without Borders-- a humanitarian organization that provides medical care for those in areas affected by conflict and disasters that wouldn't otherwise have access to such necessities. An amazing sale for a much needed cause. We're happy to see the only DB10 to ever hit the market benefit such an organization.Aston Martins For Sale

South Florida Exotic Car Toy Rally for Toys for Tots

On Saturday, December 5, 2015, the South Florida Exotic Car Toy Rally, benefitting Toys for Tots, celebrates its 10 year anniversary. This rally will be taking to the streets as one of the largest processions of exotic cars and one of the most anticipated exotic car events in the country.Hundreds of exotic cars will be driven from the beautiful Diplomat Golf and Tennis Club, up to the amazing Goodyear Airship Base, home of the Goodyear Blimp. To say this will be an amazing sight is an understatement - a caravan of exotic cars stretching over 5 miles long, all driven by their owners to benefit underprivileged children. It will be incredible to see, but even more incredible is the positive impact and difference the Toy Rally makes for the children as a charity event.Last year, the 2014 Toy Rally broke some amazing records, with over $50 million in exotic cars and record attendance. The most important records were the insanely huge mountain of toys - over 21,400 toys. To move them all, they required moving trucks for the United States Marine Corps to collect them all. That also collected $32,000 in cash, which was all donated to Toys for Tots. This equated to a lot of smiles on the faces of kids, and a positive impact on their holidays. This year, the Toy Rally intends to pull off the same, if not bigger numbers. To learn how to donate or be a part, be sure to visit ToyRally.com or click the button below.Learn More Sponsored by the South Florida Exotic Car Toy Rally duPont REGISTRY Exotic Cars
