Ferrari Wins 24 Hours Of Le Mans For The Second Year In A...

Ferrari’s triumphant return has become Le Mans domination. Last year, Ferrari made unforgettable history when it entered the 499P Le Mans Hypercar into the 100th 24 Hours of Le Mans race, not only marking its glorious return to the top class of the historic endurance challenge after an incredibly long 50 years away but also clinching victory. The winning return run on the 100th anniversary 24 Hours of Le Mans alone is enough to go down in history as one of the greatest motorsport stories in recent memory. However, at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ferrari did it again, securing the overall victory for a second time in a row, eclipsing Toyota for the win. With the number 50 Ferrari 499P hypercar winning the race, the number 51 car finished 36 seconds behind in third place. The historic win gave Ferrari two of the hallowed “Triple Crown” titles of motorsport, having also won this year’s Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1. Ferrari credits the victory in the challenging race to impeccable teamwork and strategy, especially regarding tire choices during the rainy overnight period in which almost seven hours of safety car periods were needed. The victory is Ferrari’s 11th overall 24 Hours of Le Mans win. Including the manufacturer’s 29 class wins at the event, Ferrari now boasts 40 24 Hours of Le Mans wins. With the 24 Hours of Le Mans being a part of the FIA World Endurance Championship, specifically the championship’s fourth round, Ferrari is now in second place in the Manufacturers’ standings, nine points behind Porsche. The winning drivers are also second in the Drivers’ standings, nine points behind the current leaders. Another historic victory in the books secures Ferrari’s status as a force of nature in top-class endurance racing yet again. View All Ferraris For Sale Image Source: Ferrari

Watch Jay Leno Drive The New 715HP Ferrari Purosangue 'FU...

While the first-ever Ferrari SUV has made a monumental impact on the automotive market, the Purosangue still remains a unicorn, as only a handful of examples have landed on U.S. soil for high-profile clients. Among the lucky few to have taken delivery, the list of Ferrari Purosangue owners includes celebrities like soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and Scuderia Ferrari HP F1 driver Charles Leclerc. The next car-crazy celeb to get behind the wheel of the 2024 Ferrari Purosangue is Jay Leno, who featured the four-door Italian super SUV on the newest episode of Jay Leno's Garage. The test mule for the first drive is none other than Ferrari Brand Ambassador and Ferrari fanatic David Lee, who owns a stable of Ferraris that includes The Big Five (288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari) in both red and yellow. Having been one of the first owners to receive a Purosangue in the United States, the Los Angeles-based collector took his Giallo Modena spec down to Jay's garage for a full walkaround on Ferrari's revolutionary new model. The 'FUV' shies away from the traditional motorsport approach that Enzo focused on for decades, tapping into a new market of buyers who want to daily drive a fun and practical Ferrari. Its entry into the luxury SUV market proved to be a monumental strategy as both Jay and David discuss the immediate sell-out of all 1,000 units for 2024. At a base price of around $400K, the two agree that it's a hefty price to pay, but it will ultimately pay off as recent Ferrari values continue to skyrocket as investments amongst supercar and hypercar collectors continue to skyrocket After a full exterior and interior of the Purosangue and its extra $150K options, Jay and David take it out on the open road to see if Ferrari's SUV drives as well as it looks. Delivering over 715 horsepower and 528 lb-ft of torque to a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, the Purosangue embodies Ferrari's authentic DNA through a naturally aspirated 6.5L V12 mounted at the front. And with rumors of a possible swap to a twin-turbocharged V8 or hybrid-assisted powertrain in the near future, Ferrari's first batch of V12-powered Purosangues will surely hold their value as future collector-grade cars. Judging by the smiles as the FUV climbs through gears, making all the right noises from its exhaust, it's clear that the Ferrari Purosangue gets the stamp of approval from Jay Leno's Garage.
