Starting with a Mustang GT, Roush worked with Ford Performance to develop a new generation of their “ROUSHcharger.” This massive supercharger displaces 2.3-liters, which makes it larger than most four cylinder engines on the market. Force feeding that much additional air into the 5.0-liter V8 is how the RS3 is able to make 670 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque. It wouldn’t be as potent without a host of other proprietary changes, including their own intake, exhaust and computer tuning. If you don’t opt for the active exhaust, bypassing the mufflers is easily accomplished by removing the block off plates at the tailpipes.
