Where most supercars chase outright numbers, the BAC Mono prioritizes something harder to quantify: the sensation of legally driving a formula-style car on public roads. Limited Spec Automotive is offering this 2023 example on duPont REGISTRY, finished in white with exposed-carbon sections, purple and yellow accents, with just 576 miles on the odometer.
British marque Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) places the driver on the centerline in a formula-style seating position. The Mono range has evolved for more than a decade since the original arrived in 2011. This example belongs to the new-generation Mono unveiled at Monterey Car Week, distinguished from earlier cars by its cleaner, less visually complicated shark-nose front end and centrally mounted LED headlights.
The single-seat layout allows BAC to package the car’s major hardware close to its longitudinal axis, concentrating mass near the centerline and minimizing frontal area. A compartment beneath the nose even provides enough room for a helmet.
Sitting behind the cockpit is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 311 horsepower, with a six-speed, motorsport-derived sequential manual transmission sending all power to the rear wheels. Now that might not sound like much, but at approximately 1,257 pounds, the Mono delivers an exceptional power-to-weight ratio of 546 horsepower per metric ton.
That figure outstrips many comparable supercars carrying two or three times its horsepower, because the Mono simply refuses to carry the weight they do. What you end up with is an enthusiast-friendly analog driving experience that is becoming increasingly uncommon in the modern era, and since this is a roadster, it further adds to the drama.

Carbon-fiber panels, lightweight wheels, AP Racing brakes, Öhlins dampers, and bespoke Pirelli tires make the Mono a genuine featherweight, essentially packing race-bred hardware for the road. The BAC, in fact, sits in the same rarefied category as the Caterham Seven and KTM X-Bow, but its central driving position and exceptional power-to-weight ratio set it apart.
