An Unforgettable Powerplant: Exotic Cars With V12 Engines For Sale

By Tyler Rampersaud –  September 03, 2026

The Best V12 Cars For Sale

Whether it’s an expression of luxury or performance, V12 engines have represented automotive excellence for decades. Their robust performance, unique sound, and overall driving quality have made them an excellent choice for top-of-the-line luxury vehicles and supercars all over the world and throughout much of automotive history. However, the automotive industry is changing, and electrification means that we are seeing V12 engines be replaced by hybrid powertrains with smaller engines, or being completely swapped with electric drivetrains. That said, despite the dwindling production of V12 engines throughout the automotive industry, it continues to have respect and appeal among enthusiasts, as well as objective excellence for its performance and marvel as an engine. As V12 cars fade from the automotive industry, their historical value as symbols of luxury and performance are bound to give them even more cachet as the years pass. Below are some of the best V12-powered cars available for sale. For more exotic and luxury cars for sale, click below. 1-of-20 Maserati MC20 Icona Listed for Sale on duPont REGISTRY

By Khris Bharath –  September 02, 2026

1-of-20 Maserati MC20 Icona Listed for Sale on duPont REGISTRY

The blue-and-white finish on this MC20 is part of a Maserati racing lineage that stretches back more than 60 years. This 2025 Maserati MC20 Icona, currently offered by Maserati of Seattle on duPont REGISTRY, is one of just 20 examples produced worldwide, with the dealer identifying this particular car as one of eight in North America. Maserati created the Icona to mark 20 years since the MC12 returned the marque to international competition in 2004 following a 37-year absence. Its Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale gloss finish echoes the blue-and-white color scheme that defined the 2004 MC12 Stradale, translating one of Maserati's most recognizable modern liveries onto the carbon-fiber body of the MC20. When Maserati revealed the Icona and Leggenda in June 2024, it limited each edition to just 20 examples, with the Icona referencing the MC12 Stradale and the Leggenda drawing inspiration from the competition-spec MC12 GT1. The tribute goes back considerably deeper than the MC12 into Maserati's earliest racing history. Maserati traces these colors through the Trofeo Light, which competed at the 24 Hours of Daytona, and further back to the Tipo 61 Birdcage of the early 1960s. Built between 1959 and 1961, the Birdcage earned its nickname from an extraordinary spaceframe chassis constructed from roughly 200 small-diameter tubes arranged into a lightweight lattice around the driver and mechanical components. As a result, the Icona's seemingly simple two-tone finish carries a visual lineage stretching back more than six decades. The same colors later became inseparable from the Maserati MC12, the Ferrari Enzo-derived V12 homologation special of which Maserati built just 50 road cars. The MC12 GT1 became one of the defining GT racers of the mid-2000s, collecting manufacturers', teams', and drivers' championships during a career that returned Maserati to the top level of international sports car racing. The road car now sits at the very top of the Maserati collector market, with a 2005 example selling for $9.46 million at Mecum Indy in May 2026, setting a new public auction high for both the MC12 and Maserati as a marque. Beneath the heritage paintwork sits the MC20's 3.0-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6, which produces 621 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the carbon-fiber monocoque helps keep dry weight below 3,306 pounds. Nettuno marked Maserati's return to developing its own engines after more than two decades and employs a pre-chamber combustion system derived from Formula 1 technology. There is another reason the Icona example seen here carries real weight in the collector conversation. Maserati has already moved beyond the MC20 name with the MCPura, unveiled at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, the evolution retains the Nettuno V6 and carbon-fiber architecture of the MC20 but introduces revised styling, materials, and personalization under a new name, placing the Icona firmly within the closing phase of the original MC20 story. The aforementioned Nettuno V6 continues to do duty in the MC20, and we had the opportunity to experience it not too long ago in both our 2026 Maserati MC20 Cielo and MCPura Cielo first drive reviews.  <- Gallery -> That brings us back to this Icona-liveried car, which is now one of the most meaningful variants from the MC20's relatively brief production run. The window sticker of this particular example reveals how extensively this particular Icona was specified. Carrying nearly $80,000 in factory options, this car includes Bianco Audace matte paint, which on its own was $14,000, lightweight racing seats, 20-inch Trident Wheels Icona, a Premium Sound System, and blue brake calipers.  Inside, black Alcantara is paired with Blu Alcantara inserts, grey contrast stitching, and a Blu Trident stitched into the headrests, while Fuoriserie details include the Italian flag badge, Icona-specific trim, and carbon fiber for the instrument cluster cap, paddle shifters, door sills, and engine cover. The livery does more than repaint an MC20 in the colors of the MC12, connecting three distinct eras of the Italian marque's competition history, linking the tubular-frame Birdcage, the V12-powered MC12, and the modern Nettuno-powered supercar, all through one two-tone finish. With its legendary Motor Valley, and a slew of manufacturers with decades of experience in making some of the world’s most iconic vehicles, whether for luxury, performance, or style, Italy has a solid reputation as an automotive hub, and Maserati is one of the most important contributors to it. With over a century of history, Maserati is known for making cars that beautifully exemplify Italian automotive excellence, combining luxury with undeniable style, while also focusing on performance and driving joy. Whether you’re thinking of Maserati’s sedans, sports cars, or SUVs, a Maserati is both a treat to look at and to drive. With a diverse lineup catering to all manners of car enthusiasts and collectors, Maserati has vehicles worthy of being added to just about any garage. Check out some of the best Maseratis for sale on duPont REGISTRY below, and if you’re interested in finding your dream Maserati for sale, click the button below to start your search. What Maserati models are available for sale? Currently, Maserati’s lineup is more diverse than it’s ever been before. There are two SUV models: the smaller Grecale, and the larger Levante. There are also two Maserati sedans: the Quattroporte and the Ghibli. In addition, Maserati has revived its iconic grand-touring sports car: the GranTurismo, as well as its open-top counterpart, the GranCabrio. Finally, the Maserati MC20 supercar is available as a coupe, or as the open-top Maserati MC20 Cielo. How much does a Maserati cost? With a wide range of models available, the cost of a Maserati for sale depends on what you’re looking for. The entry-level model, the Grecale, has a starting MSRP of $63,500, while the most expensive model, the MC20 Cielo, has a price of $262,695, and that’s before you include optional equipment. Does Maserati use V8 engines? Unfortunately, Maserati is phasing out its V8-powered cars, with the Ghibli and Levante Trofeo models being the last to sport the Ferrari-derived engine. The pre-owned market features examples of these, however, if you still want to get your hands on a high-performance, glorious-sounding V8-powered Maserati for sale. What is Maserati’s Nettuno engine? Introduced along with the Maserati MC20 supercar, the Nettuno V6 is Maserati’s new high-performance engine. It’s a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 responsible for powering Maserati’s hot-blooded models like the Grecale Trofeo, GranTurismo Modena, GranTurismo Trofeo, GranCabrio Trofeo, and of course, the MC20 and MC20 Cielo. Does Maserati make electric cars? Maserati recently introduced EVs to its lineup for the first time in its history, denoting its electrified lineup with the moniker “Folgore.” Translating from Italian to “lightning,” Maserati’s Folgore lineup consists of the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore and the Maserati Grecale Folgore currently. With excellent driving range and high performance, Maserati says that all of its models will be available as fully-electric vehicles by 2025. Can I finance a Maserati for sale? Yes! Rare Low-Mileage Single-Seat BAC Mono Available For Sale on duPont REGISTRY

By Khris Bharath –  August 25, 2026

Rare Low-Mileage Single-Seat BAC Mono Available For Sale on duPont REGISTRY

Where most supercars chase outright numbers, the BAC Mono prioritizes something harder to quantify: the sensation of legally driving a formula-style car on public roads. Limited Spec Automotive is offering this 2023 example on duPont REGISTRY, finished in white with exposed-carbon sections, purple and yellow accents, with just 576 miles on the odometer. British marque Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) places the driver on the centerline in a formula-style seating position. The Mono range has evolved for more than a decade since the original arrived in 2011. This example belongs to the new-generation Mono unveiled at Monterey Car Week, distinguished from earlier cars by its cleaner, less visually complicated shark-nose front end and centrally mounted LED headlights. The single-seat layout allows BAC to package the car’s major hardware close to its longitudinal axis, concentrating mass near the centerline and minimizing frontal area. A compartment beneath the nose even provides enough room for a helmet. Sitting behind the cockpit is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 311 horsepower, with a six-speed, motorsport-derived sequential manual transmission sending all power to the rear wheels. Now that might not sound like much, but at approximately 1,257 pounds, the Mono delivers an exceptional power-to-weight ratio of 546 horsepower per metric ton.  That figure outstrips many comparable supercars carrying two or three times its horsepower, because the Mono simply refuses to carry the weight they do. What you end up with is an enthusiast-friendly analog driving experience that is becoming increasingly uncommon in the modern era, and since this is a roadster, it further adds to the drama. <- Gallery -> Carbon-fiber panels, lightweight wheels, AP Racing brakes, Öhlins dampers, and bespoke Pirelli tires make the Mono a genuine featherweight, essentially packing race-bred hardware for the road. The BAC, in fact, sits in the same rarefied category as the Caterham Seven and KTM X-Bow, but its central driving position and exceptional power-to-weight ratio set it apart. The Mono, in fact, even features on our list of cars built around a central driving position. Every Mono is effectively bespoke, hand-built in Liverpool, England, in tiny annual numbers, with total production numbers just over 150 units worldwide since the Mono launched in 2011. These cars seldom come to market, and this particular example is among just two low-mileage Monos currently listed by Limited Spec Automotive. Elferspot Spotlight: A Le Mans-Era 904, a Signal Yellow SC Targa and a 230,000 km GT3 RS

By duPont REGISTRY –  August 21, 2026

Elferspot Spotlight: A Le Mans-Era 904, a Signal Yellow SC Targa and a 230,000 km GT3 RS

Elferspot tends to be at its best when the selection refuses to make a neat argument, and this round is about as broad as the marketplace gets. The Porsche-focused platform pulls collector-grade cars from dealers, specialists and private sellers across Europe and North America, and the three we picked this time sit at wildly different ends of the hobby. One is a seven-figure sports racing car with FIA papers. One is a usable G-Series Targa in a factory color you have probably never seen on one. The third is a modern RS with more miles on it than most family sedans ever see. What ties them together is that each one gets its identity from something other than presentation. The 904 has a competition file and a factory repair history. The SC has a Paint to Sample order sheet. The GT3 RS has fifteen documented dealer services and an odometer that most sellers would rather not talk about. Three cars, three completely different arguments for why a Porsche is worth owning. GALLERY-EMBED This $2.6 million Porsche 904 raced Reims, the Tour de France and Goodwood. Chassis 904-083 is interesting long before the USD 2,600,000 asking price enters the conversation. It went to French Porsche distributor Sonauto in April 1964 and then spent its early years being raced, hard, by Claude Barbier, Valentin Aldy and Cyr Febbraio, turning up at the 12 Hours of Reims, the Rallye des Ardennes and the Tour de France. Animoya Garage in Pontiac, Michigan, now offers the silver Carrera GTS with its FIA Historical Technical Passport and a continuous ownership record backed by period photographs and paperwork. Historic use continued well past the sixties, including outings at the Goodwood Revival and Tour Auto. That competition life is also why 083 is not an untouched early 904, and the listing is upfront about it. After an accident the car went back to the factory, which fitted a replacement chassis and body while retaining the engine, gearbox and running gear. It then took on the later Series 2 updates, and the seller states that only ten cars were converted in period. The fiberglass body was sympathetically restored in the 1990s after decades in Germany. The matching-numbers two-liter four-cam engine and gearbox are still with the car, though a 904/6 specification six-cylinder is currently installed so the car can be driven and competed while the original unit is preserved separately. Worth remembering what the 904 represented: it was Porsche's first production model with a fiberglass-reinforced plastic body and a key step toward the purpose-built mid-engined racers that followed. Buy this one for the history file, not for originality-purist bragging rights. View Listing GALLERY-EMBED Was this the only Porsche 911 SC Targa painted Signal Yellow? Color changes an SC Targa more than it has any right to, especially when the color came from the factory. This 1982 Canadian-delivery car was ordered Paint to Sample in Signal Yellow 1YH over black leatherette, and Scan Automotive in North Vancouver believes it may be the only SC Targa built in that shade. Take that claim as the dealer's read rather than documented fact, but the PTS order itself is the part that matters, and it gives the car an identity the moment you walk up to it. Three owners, matching numbers, 135,200 kilometers, USD 94,000. The order sheet had more on it than the paint. A 930 rear spoiler was specified from new and still comes with the car, although a standard engine lid is fitted at the moment. Silver 15-inch Fuchs, a stainless Targa bar and chrome brightwork give it an odd and rather appealing mix of late G-Series mechanicals with earlier visual cues. Changes since delivery are minor and easy to undo: a Momo Prototipo wheel, a Bluetooth-capable radio, Rest-of-World rear bumperettes. Mechanically, this is the mature SC, the 3.0-liter in its final 204 PS European specification with a manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, up from 180 PS and then 188 PS earlier in the run. The one thing missing is paperwork. The listing does not publish a detailed service chronology, and at this money you would want to see one. This is a driver's G-Series Targa with an unusual order sheet, not a preservation-grade car, and it is priced and presented accordingly. View Listing GALLERY-EMBED 143,000 Miles in a GT3 RS? Porsche still gave it an approved warranty. Almost every 991 GT3 RS listing opens with how little the car has been used. This Lava Orange example does the opposite and leads with 230,884 kilometers, which is roughly 143,000 miles in a car most owners treat as a weekend appointment. Jurjens Automotive in Meppel, the Netherlands, is asking EUR 129,900. Two owners, accident-free, matching numbers, and here is the part that makes it work: every recorded service was carried out by authorized Porsche dealers, and the car is still covered by Porsche Approved warranty through April 2027. The service file is what turns that odometer reading from alarming into genuinely compelling. Fifteen Porsche dealer visits are listed between January 2016 and May 2025, starting at 10 kilometers and running through 219,991. The specification is serious too, with PCCB ceramic brakes, front-axle lift, rear-axle steering, PASM, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, carbon buckets, the Clubsport Package, Sport Chrono, black PDLS+ LED headlights and a lot of carbon trim, currently on Pirelli P Zero Corsa N2 tires. Underneath it all is the first-generation 991 RS package as Porsche launched it in 2015: naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six, 500 PS, seven-speed PDK, magnesium roof, carbon body panels, 918 Spyder-derived buckets, 3.3 seconds to 100 km/h. Be clear-eyed about what high mileage does to resale on a car like this, because the next buyer will price it the same way you are. But if you want an RS to drive rather than store, this is the one in the market that has already proven the concept works. View Listing

The Best Ferrari F12tdfs For Sale As Values Soar Into Multi-Million Territory

By Jordan Aquistapace –  August 19, 2026

The Best Ferrari F12tdfs For Sale As Values Soar Into Multi-Million Territory

The Ferrari F12tdf represents a very specific moment in Ferrari’s modern history. Introduced in 2015 as the final evolution of the F12 platform, it took the brand’s front-engine V12 formula and pushed it closer to a track-focused race car without losing the character that made Ferrari’s grand tourers so iconic. The name pays tribute to the Tour de France Automobile, the legendary endurance race where Ferrari dominated throughout the 1950s and ’60s, and the car carried that same competitive spirit into the modern era. With production limited to just 799 examples, the F12tdf quickly became one of the most desirable modern Ferraris among collectors. While the F12berlinetta was already an impressive car, the F12tdf took a much more race-focused approach. Ferrari widened the car’s aerodynamic package with a larger front splitter, redesigned side skirts, an aggressive rear diffuser, and active aerodynamic elements designed to generate more downforce at speed. Weight-saving measures throughout the car, including extensive use of carbon fiber, helped sharpen the driving experience and make the F12tdf feel noticeably more responsive behind the wheel. Inside, the interior mirrors that same philosophy, replacing some of the traditional luxury amenities with Alcantara, carbon fiber, and lightweight materials. Front and center of it all is Ferrari’s naturally aspirated 6.3L V12, an engine that has become one of the defining powerplants of the modern era. Producing 769 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, the F12tdf sends power through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 211 mph. But like many of Ferrari’s most memorable cars, the numbers only tell part of the story. What separates the F12tdf is the way it delivers that experience, combining a high-revving V12, sharp handling, and a level of driver involvement that has become increasingly rare in today’s supercar market. 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $4,490,000 View Listing 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $3,899,000 View Listing 2016 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $3,800,000 View Listing 2016 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $3,849,995 View Listing 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $4,290,000 View Listing 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $3,948,888 View Listing 2016 Ferrari F12tdf Call for Price View Listing 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $4,299,985 View Listing

Currently, brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, and more offer convertibles. However, even more manufacturers sold convertibles in the past that are now on the second-hand market. Is a hard-top or soft-top convertible better? That depends on your driving needs. Hard top convertibles are often chosen for performance-focused enthusiasts who may want to drive their car at a track day. In addition, soft top convertibles were long considered a compromise, not offering the structural rigidity and noise reduction of a coupe, and hard-top convertibles offered a solution by being closer to their coupe counterparts. However, soft-top convertibles offer more compact and quicker folding, added style from different fabric roof options, and have evolved to offer greater structural rigidity, performance capability, and noise insulation than before.
