2019 Ford GT With Over $118k in Options Up For Auction

Presented by Sackey & Co. | Online Supercar Auctions. Sackey & Co. | Online Supercar Auctions is proud to present this stunning 2019 Ford GT serial no. K117 finished in factory Extended Color Palette 2 ā€˜Race Red’ & Lightning Blue metallic stripes over a Dark Energy Upgrade interior and just 255 miles from new. This Ford GT is live now for online auction on Sackey & Co., with bidding to conclude on May 4th. Background on the latest iteration of the Ford GT: In 1901, automotive engineer Henry Ford and his 26-horsepower car ā€œSweepstakesā€ famously won a Detroit-area race against local favorite Alexander Winton in his 70-horsepower ā€œBullet,ā€ a testament to the lightness & reliability of the car Ford had created. His win would attract the publicity and investors that allowed him to start the Ford Motor Company less than two years later in 1903. Over a century later, in 2014, Ford quietly developed a twin-turbocharged V6 unit for prototype class racing, pushing it to an eventual win at the 2015 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. The engine took advantage of similar benefits to the V6 power units recently introduced in Formula 1 at the time, including better packaging, weight, & fuel efficiency versus the larger engines previously used. The spirit of this engine evoked that used by Henry Ford in his original racing car - a focus on innovative engineering over traditional thinking. Casual observers believed Ford was simply experimenting with a new racing engine, but the company had bigger plans ahead. The ultimate use for the engine was revealed to be a new purpose-built Ford GT race car, which would have the incredible task of a return to Le Mans to recapture the glory of Ford’s 1966 Ferrari-beating 1-2-3 finish, 50 years later to the day in 2016. Amazingly, they succeeded in achieving their objective, beating Ferrari once more for a 1st place class win and writing one of the great sports car & racing stories of all time. The road-legal variant of the Le Mans-winning Ford GT was developed alongside the race version, borne as a required homologation effort and additionally as a gift to the Ford faithful, with only 1,350 total units planned. Completion of said production run is on-schedule to end in just a few months’ time, all allocations having been sold out. Built by Ford affiliate Multimatic, who are essentially to Ford what Michelotto is to Ferrari, each new Ford GT is hand-built to order. The car on offer here is a stunningly highly-specced example of this incredible racecar-turned Supercar. The Ford GT on offer: Ford GT serial no. K117 and VIN number 2FAGP9CW7KH200117 was custom specified by its current & only owner, a prominent Ferrari collector, and delivered to him on May 10th, 2019 at Hoffman Ford in East Hartford, Connecticut. It has since traveled only 255 miles from new and is presented in essentially as-new condition. K117 was built to an extremely high specification, boasting $118,495.00 in options alone, and a resulting total MSRP of $613,745.00 making this car amongst the rare set of Ford GTs to be optioned into the $600,000+ range. Options applied to this GT are summarized as follows: • Extended Color Palette 2 exterior color in ā€˜Race Red’ non-metallic at $30,000 cost.• Dark Energy interior (black) Upgrade package at $30,000 cost.• Exterior carbon fiber package in gloss finish at $15,000 cost.• Lightweight carbon fiber wheels in gloss finish at $15,000 cost.• Overtop Stripes in Lightning Blue metallic at $10,000 cost.• Titanium factory Akrapovic exhaust system at $10,000 cost.• 6-point racing harness anchors at $1,500 cost.• Brake calipers in Blue at $1,000 cost.• Titanium wheel lug nuts at $1,000 cost.• Outdoor car cover in blue at $995 cost.• Indoor car cover in black at $750 cost.• Leather-wrapped steering wheel at $250 cost. The Ford GT is the only current Supercar that can lay claim to not only being truly hand-built but to being directly based on a Le Mans-winning race car. Modern Supercars with such iconic racing heritage as the ā€˜17+ Ford GT are few & far between, cementing the car as a certain future collectible classic. Few have been produced in as stunning a specification as K117. Click the button below to learn more today. View Listing

Volcano Orange McLaren P1 For Sale By Collectors Garage

Presented by Broad Arrow Group. • One of just 375 examples constructed between 2013 and 2015, of which just 120 were U.S. delivery models• Immaculately presented in Volcano Orange with black leather interior• Believed to be one of only 36 examples delivered in this most desirable color combination, with perhaps as few as 12 exported to the U.S.• Only two owners from new, with just 281 documented miles from new• Benefitting from expenditure of approximately $49,000 for comprehensive servicing by McLaren Greenwich in February 2022. Variously known in the worlds of education, music and sport as the sophomore slump, second-album syndrome and second-season syndrome respectively, the notion of a subsequent endeavour failing to live up to the exalted standards of the first is a familiar one. This paradigm is of course equally applicable to the manufacturing industry, particularly so when that first endeavor happens to be the McLaren F1; a car so revered as to be perhaps the only one considered the spiritual successor to the immortal Ferrari 250 GTO. In short, how does a company -- even one with McLaren’s vast collective resources -- avoid its second top-line supercar being a relative disappointment compared to the first? Remarkably, 2022 represents the 30th anniversary of F1 production commencing, while next year will mark a quarter century since it ceased. However, barely had the final F1 left the Woking factory before speculation started to mount as to the specification and timing of its possible replacement. In 2010, after carrying out predictably exhaustive feasibility studies and having revived the formerly dormant McLaren Cars concern as McLaren Automotive, the Group made the decision to return to road-car production with their new MP4/12C model.Ā  Although hugely capable, and assembled with the customary McLaren attention to detail, the 12C was aimed at a very different market to its illustrious predecessor. Rather than being an ultimate specification, ultra-low volume model in the same vein as the F1, it would be produced in significant numbers and marketed via a global network of McLaren dealerships. Moreover, McLaren aimed to challenge the hegemony of Ferrari and Porsche in the production supercar sector; their intention being that the 12C would form the basis of an entire generation of derivatives. Buoyed by promising early commercial success for the 12C, McLaren formally announced their long-awaited F1 successor, the P1, in May 2012 -- a car which assuredly would subscribe to the F1’s original principles and appeal to a similar, rarefied demographic. The new car’s secretive development went back as far as 2009, when it was decided that -- rather than use a conventional normally-aspirated V12 engine, as in the F1 -- a relatively compact V8 turbo unit would be employed. Significantly, and in common with direct competitors Porsche and Ferrari with their respective 918 Spyder and La Ferrari models, this would operate in conjunction with an electric motor to form the company’s first foray into hybrid supercar territory.Ā  Believed to be one of just 36 P1s delivered worldwide in the striking body color of Volcano Orange, this particular chassis -- number 220 of the 375 constructed -- was delivered new to the US in 2015 but remained in the original ownership only briefly prior to its acquisition by the current owner later that year. Now offered by Collectors Garage for private sales aquisition, this 2015 McLaren P1 has covered a mere 281 miles from new, unsurprisingly presenting in ā€œas newā€ condition throughout. Indeed, such is the car’s originality that it still retains the airbag warning decal on the passenger side of the dashboard; an item usually removed in the early stages of P1 ownership as a matter of course. In February 2022, the car was subjected to a thorough technical overhaul and five-year service at McLaren Greenwich of Stamford, Connecticut, at a cost of some $49,000; the vehicle having covered just three test miles since.Ā  Inevitably -- and perhaps fittingly -- the span of more than 20 years between the F1 and P1 makes a direct, objective comparison between the two all but impossible. Both are assuredly products of their time: the F1 arguably the last of the true ā€œanalog eraā€ supercars, unapologetically offering the visceral back-to-basics driving experience intended by designer Gordon Murray; the P1 every inch the 21st century supercar bristling with ground-breaking technology, outrageous performance, and impressively sophisticated yet utterly seamless and brilliant driver aids. Thus, it is the way in which the new car makes this performance so accessible -- not to mention the competition-bred spirit with which it is imbued -- that renders it a more than worthy successor to its illustrious forebear. With a total production of just 375 units—and just north of 100 examples built for the U.S. -- the P1 remains the rarest of the so-called ā€œHoly Trinityā€ of hybrid supercars; a fact which -- when allied to its dynamic abilities, racing heritage and show-stopping looks -- all but guarantees its place in the pantheon of supercar greats. Given the market’s long-standing preference for ultra low-mileage cars with impeccable provenance, it is unlikely that this sub-300 mile, two-owners-from-new example will ever be surpassed in this respect. As such it offers virtually limitless collector-grade potential, as well as a similarly boundless capacity to entertain and excite in equal measure.Ā Should you be interested in obtaining this remarkable example, please contact a team member at Collectors Garage, as we are sure the opportunity to acquire it won’t last very long. Michael Schumacher's Ferrari F300 Race Car (Chassis 189) ...

The Ferrari with which Michael Schumacher lost the 1998 F1 World Championship in the Suzuka showdown to McLaren’s Mika Hakkinen is up for private sale with an asking price of $4.9 million. The chassis, which also set pole position and finished second in the Luxembourg Grand Prix at the Nurburgring in Schumacher's hands, went into the Suzuka finale four points behind Hakkinen. Although Schumacher qualified on pole, his race went wrong before the start when he stalled on the formation lap, meaning he started at the tail of the grid. Winner Michael Schumacher (GER), Ferrari F300 celebrates as he crosses the line. Formula One World Championship, Hungarian Grand Prix, Rd12, Hungaroring, Budapest, Hungary, 16 August 1998. (Image Source: Motorsport Images) He stormed his way through the pack and was running third when he ran over debris from a previous collision between two other cars, and his tyre deflated three laps later. That allowed Hakkinen to cruise to his first F1 World Championship title. ā€œFirst of all I want to congratulate Mika Hakkinen and his team,ā€ said Schumacher. ā€œThey performed better throughout the season and so they deserve the title. I think we did not lose this championship in Suzuka, but in the early stages of the season, when we were too far behind.Ā  Michael Schumacher on his way to winning the Hungarian Grand Prix. I feel sad for the boys, as all their hard work did not pay off in the end. The engine stalled because the clutch did not free itself and I do not know why. All the work this weekend was then wasted as I had to start from the back.Ā  ā€œThe first couple of laps were good fun. All the other drivers were very fair and did not try and make life difficult for me. I did not expect a rear tyre to explode as I had problems with a flat-spotted front, which caused a lot of vibration.ā€ Michael Schumacher locks his wheels as he pushes to win the Hungarian Grand Prix.
