See the All-Electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 Prototype's M...

The all-electric Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 was unveiled in April with plans of it being debuted at a drag racer on a later date. That drag race has happened and it was actually the NHRA U.S. Nationals. During its debuted, Ford managed to rip the electric Cobra Jet down the drag strip for a quarter-mile time of 8.27 seconds at 168 mph. During this run, it reached 1,502 peak wheel horsepower, an amount that Ford notes is equal to more than three 2021 Mustang GT V8 engines. That's astounding and it was enough to launch the front wheels way up into the air. You can see it in action for yourself in the video up above. I will admit that the sound of its electric powerplant is pretty awesome. "Since revealing the car, we’ve continued to fine-tune it and now know we're just scratching the surface of what we may be able to achieve with this much electric horsepower in a drag racing setting,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports.  See All Shelby GT500s for Sale

All-Electric Mustang Mach-E 1400 Prototype

Ford Mach-E 1400 Unleashed by Vaughn Gittin Jr.

Engineers can only test a car so far in the virtual realm. Much like the new Bronco for sale, Ford wants to make sure the Mustang Mach-E arrives without any issues. Instead of boring laps at the proving grounds, the team decided to let RTR and Ford Performance work their magic. After receiving the latest prototype, Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his team dropped it, flared all the fenders, and carfully sculpted carbon fiber to offer 2,300 lbs of downforce at 160 mph. To achieve 1,400 horsepower, seven electric motors are onboard. Having 5 more engines than the Mach-E GT, RTR is pushing the Mach-E chassis, suspension, and battery system far beyond their limits. The battery is only 56.8 kWh, but it circulates dielectric coolant around each cell for optimal range and performance when needed. Several body panels are made of organic composites, which are proving to be lighter, stronger, and more sustainable than the carbon fiber that makes up the rest of the sedan. Bronco Family

By Edward Jones –  July 13, 2020

Introducing the New 2021 Ford Bronco

After years and years of waiting the new 2021 Ford Bronco has officially been unveiled. Technically, the new 2021 Broncos have been unveiled because Ford is introducing the two-door and four-door variants of the next-generation Bronco. Carrying over from the first generation of the Bronco is the term G.O.A.T., a nickname given to those first American SUVs. Now, the term G.O.A.T will be found in the modes that allow the Bronco to traverse just about any terrain. These modes include: Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand, with Baja, Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl. “Bronco’s advanced four-wheel-drive technology is at the core of its off-road capabilities, and at the heart of it all is Bronco’s exclusive Terrain Management System™ with G.O.A.T. Modes™ that is designed to help drivers better navigate any type of terrain,” said Mark Grueber, Bronco consumer marketing manager. Pre-production versions of the all-new 2021 Bronco family of all-4x4 rugged SUVs, shown here, include Bronco Sport in Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Bronco two-door in Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat and Bronco four-door in Cactus Gray. Paired up with the new G.O.A.T. system are two different 4x4 setups: base and advanced. The base system has a two-speed electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case, while the advanced has a two-speed electromechanical transfer case that has an auto-mode for "on-demand engagement to select between 2H and 4H," according to Ford. All of the power for this system is transferred to both the Dana 44 AdvanTEK solid rear axle and Dana AdvanTEK independent front different unit. See All Broncos for Sale As for power, there are options to be had. Ford notes that there will be a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It should be noted that these power figures are currently projected. Mated to the engines can be the segment-exclusive 7-speed manual transmission or SelectShift 10-speed automatic transmissions. Whichever model you pick, two-door or four-door, you can make your driving experience an open-air one in an instance thanks to the standard three-section roof system. What's more Ford does note that the removable roof sections or cloth soft top can be removed easily by one person, so you don't have to beg for help when you want the wind in your hair. Because the new Bronco is an off-road-ready SUV, Ford has set it up with a lot of options that make it a formidable vehicle for trails. One feature that will catch the eye of any adventurer are the topographic map trails that include more than 1,000 curated trail maps, powered by NeoTreks’ AccuTerra® Maps, Trails Offroad trail guides and FunTreks trail guides. When on those trails, the Bronco's optional 35-inch off-road tires will and best-in-class 94.75:1 crawl ratio will make waste of any rocks that get in the way. Ford also says that the Bronco has a best-in-class fording capability of up to 33.5-inches, which is a talking point that unfortunately rarely comes up nowadays. So, when is the new 2020 Ford Bronco coming out and how much will it cost? Ford says that the production of the new Broncos will begin in early 2021 with first models arriving in dealership in spring 2021. If you're interested, you can drop a $100 deposit not yo reserve a Bronco for yourself. As for price, it depends on the model. Ford Bronco Lineup Teased Along With Reveal Date

Anticipation for the new Ford Bronco is growing with each passing day. Last week we learned that the return of the historic SUV will be simulcast by Disney across ABC, ESPN, National Geographic, and Hulu at 8 pm (Eastern) on July 13th. Immediately after, fans can reserve theirs for $100 each at Ford.com. Today's press release confirms the trifecta we've been assuming. All-new F-150

By Andrew Nabors –  June 26, 2020

All-New 2021 Ford F-150 Offers Hybrid Power and Efficiency

Usually, it doesn't make sense to change your best-selling model. Ford trucks are the backbone of their company, and the F-150 alone could be considered one of the world's largest automakers. Therefore, engineers and stylists in Dearborn have delivered the world's first full-hybrid pickup. A new aluminum body still rides on a frame of high-strength steel, but those aspects are all that is shared with last year's lineup. Using lessons learned in the Raptor and at LeMans, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost is now PowerBoost. This optional system combines an electric motor/generator inside the 10-speed automatic transmission. It allows the V6 to act as a generator, with options for 2.4 kW or 7.2 kW. Several 120v plugs in the bed offer 20 amps to recharge tools, or keep your electric bikes ready for another adventure. The real shocker is a 240-volt plug rated at 30 amps. That is more than enough to power 28 refrigerators if you want the ultimate tailgate party. Their real goal was to allow one truck to power an entire Jobsite. Best Ford Mustangs Of All Time Without anything plugged in, the hybrid system offers 12,000 lbs of towing or a range of 700 miles on one tank of gas. Such efficiency doesn't mean skimping on luxury. A 12" center screen is standard on XLT models, while the XL offers an 8" version. Another option is an Interior Work Surface that is ideal for signing documents, looking at blueprints, or providing a stable platform for a 15" laptop. When you are done, it disappears into the center console without sacrificing storage between the seats. Speaking of those seats, the Max Recline option allows them to fold flat, nearly to 180 degrees. Because the cab is triple-sealed, you can sleep in comfort. The hybrid battery also powers the starter motor, water pump, and the A/C compressor. This allows climate control with the engine off, another innovation that the industry couldn't have foreseen. Higher trim levels allow the driver to turn off individual sections of ambient lighting, or black out the cab entirely. Even small details like this, along with all the power and SYNC 4 connectivity can be controlled from your phone. As with the previous generation, the 3.5 will probably be the most popular engine choice, but the press release also introduces a new naturally aspirated 3.3-liter Flex-Fuel and a 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel. The 2.7-liter remains the base engine, and the Coyote 5-liter is also now E85-capable. Last but not least, the hybrid 3.5 can be ordered with 4WD and locking differentials.
