The Genesis Scottish Open golf tournament took place at The Renaissance Club between July 9 and 12. The prize fund totaled $9 million, and its winner, Tom Kim, secured the title after completing the North Berwick, Scotland, course 17 under par, with a 64-shot, bogey-free final round. Two shots ahead of his closest competitors, Min Woo Lee and Robert MacIntyre, the South Korean Golfer not only won the winner’s prize of $1,575,000, but also a new Genesis GV60 Magma.
The newest all-electric model from Genesis, the GV60 Magma also serves as the debut production model from the Magma performance arm of the Genesis brand. Magma, named after the signature Magma Orange color, originated from a series of dramatic performance-oriented concepts. Soon after, the Magma brand was born, and along with it came a racing team that recently took on and finished the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and, thus far, one production model: the GV60 Magma.
Combining a robust electric powertrain with dedicated dynamics, driver-focused features, and a sporty design, the GV60 Magma is the start of a new chapter for the rapidly growing Genesis brand, bringing forth a combination of performance and luxury with its Magma brand.

At the Genesis Scottish Open tournament, the Fan Zone featured a new Genesis Public Lounge, and other activations for the over 91,000 visitors to the tournament. In addition, a fleet of 135 Genesis cars was present at the tournament, offering chauffeuring for players, officials, and partners. Another fourteen cars were on display around the course.
First showcased at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Genesis also brought its Box Buggy Concept during the tournament. The design envisions a high-tech vehicle for short journeys, combining Genesis’ luxurious design with a futuristic approach to a short-distance vehicle. A milestone moment in Genesis’ commitment to the sport of golf, the Genesis Scottish Open, and the GV60 Magma’s role as a prize car, is an important moment in the growth of the brand.
