Just over a decade into its existence as a manufacturer, Genesis has already shown the ability to create excellent and highly popular luxury vehicles, including sumptuous and sporty sedans, as well as practical and glamorous SUVs, and highly innovative electric vehicles. This year, the brand has not only achieved impressive success in the luxury automotive market, but has expanded its reach, taking on the top class of endurance racing with Genesis Magma Racing, and introducing the roadgoing GV60 Magma performance EV.
Now, Genesis is reaching even higher in terms of luxury by revealing the new GV90, an all-electric, full-size, flagship luxury SUV. Unveiled at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, the new GV90 is based on the NEOLUN concept that was showcased in 2024. The concept envisioned an all-electric flagship SUV from Genesis, with ample space and opulent design, and the new GV90 continues to embody that ethos. It’s built on an eMP platform made exclusively for Genesis’ flagship lineup, and sets out to define a new chapter for the manufacturer’s flagships, with incredible safety, driving dynamics, ride comfort, and technology.
Two variants of the new Genesis GV90 will be made, the Neolun, whose “Neolun Arch Gate” offers the world’s first independently opening and closing hidden B-pillar coach-style doors, and the standard GV90, which features conventional doors. Some of its groundbreaking features include the world’s first roof airbag, a 123.5-kWh battery, multi-chamber air suspension, a pop-up center OLED Cinematic Display, a 25-speaker sound system from Bang & Olufsen, and many more.

With the Neolun Arch gate, the front and rear doors can swing open, hiding the B-pillar to reveal an expansive entry way, emphasizing Genesis’ philosophy of generous hospitality. The effect is achieved with a newly-developed dual-motion hinge mechanism. Before completely opening, the rear doors slide slightly outward, so that when they do open, they don’t impede the front doors. In the absence of a B-pillar, the structure of the vehicle features high-strength steel beams to maintain rigidity.
The 127.8-inch wheelbase of the new Genesis GV90 allows for an impressively spacious interior, especially with a flat floor and a slim cockpit design. In the Neolun, the front seats have a motorized swiveling function, which allows them to swing 180 degrees while parked with the push of a button to facilitate conversation.
Meanwhile, the high-tech battery features the largest capacity seen in Hyundai Motor Group's electric vehicles, with a range of approximately 310 miles for the 7-seater GV90, and the ability to fast charge from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 22 minutes with 350-kW fast charging. With dual-motor all-wheel drive, the combined system output of the new Genesis GV90 is an impressive 657 horsepower and 590 lb/ft of torque.
Providing impressive dynamics for the new Genesis GV90 are a multi-chamber air suspension and rear-wheel steering, while comfort is further enhanced by the use of world-leading acoustic glass and other painstaking noise reduction efforts.
An innovative luxury driving experience in the new GV90 eliminates the start button. Instead, the driver pulls the door handle, which powers on the vehicle and closes the door automatically. Then, the column shifter moves from 12 o’clock to 2 o’clock, the Crystal Sphere Controller rotates, and the tweeter covers move to reveal the speakers, indicating that the vehicle is ready to drive. Pressing the brake pedal starts the vehicle.
An OLED Cinematic Display with an impressive 23.6 inches in size is complemented by a 25-inch Head-Up Display instead of an instrument cluster, displaying navigation prompts, speed, and other information across a wide projection space. A heated windshield, used for the first time for Hyundai Motor Group, efficiently removes frost and condensation.
GV90 Neolun Executive Suite features a four-seat configuration with opulent features like a heated wood veneer floor, a partition between the rear seats and the cargo compartment, roll blinds, and a glass roof with six zones for modulating transparency. Semi-Aniline leather upholstery is standard, and other amenities include a second-row tower console, a refrigerator, and integrated tables.
Other touches of opulence in the cabin include crystal buttons that use real glass, motorized air vents, trims in wood, stone, or wool cashmere, and more. Interior configurations for the new GV90 include Veiled Indigo with Puglia Green, Folio Brown with Batiste Blue, Vault Black with Shadow Gray, Tyrian Purple with Travertine Beige, and Saddle Brown with Shadow Gray. The GV90 Neolun offers exclusive interior palettes, like Regal Navy and Majestic Purple, Quince Brown, Vault Black and Shadow Gray, Tyrian Purple and Travertine Beige, and Saddle Brown and Shadow Gray.
The exterior design of the new Genesis GV90 is inspired by Korean tradition, specifically the moon jar. As such, it combines minimalism with elegant proportions and jewel-like details. 16 distinctive exterior colors are available, including 13 glossy finishes and three elegant matte colors.
The new Genesis GV90 Neolun First Edition is an ultra-exclusive limited release that caters to the brand’s elite clientele. It features the Executive Suite configuration, a two-tone exterior, and 24-inch wheels finished in the body color. Inside, wool cashmere trims come standard, and the first edition logo is engraved in the Crystal Sphere controller. The three available color combinations for the First Edition include Jaipur Rose and Seychelles Beige with a Quince Brown interior, Vik Black and Baena Green with a Veiled Indigo and Puglia Green interior, and Vik Black and Sonoran Navy with a Majestic Purple and Regal Navy interior.
With opulent details, elegant, uncompromising design, and industry-first features, the all-electric Genesis GV90 is not only redefining Genesis’ luxury potential, but shaking up the full-size luxury SUV market as a whole.
