Lexus LFA: Own A Japanese Supercar Masterpiece

When it comes to supercar excellence, the LFA is lightning in a bottle. Decades ago, Lexus sent shockwaves through the luxury automotive world, being an incredibly strong new contender that would go up against long-standing titans like Mercedes-Benz and BMW, and it didn’t only survive, but it thrived. However, that was far from all Lexus would do, and in 2009, it would introduce the LFA, a supercar that to this day, remains one of the greatest moments in recent automotive history. It’s powered by a 4.8-liter V10 engine that was co-developed by Toyota and Yamaha just for the LFA, each signed by its craftsman, and as the automotive industry continues to change and evolve, even the V10 engine itself is a reason that the Lexus LFA stands out as a gem. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to why the LFA is so special. The exhaust was also developed in collaboration with Yamaha, with the goal of giving the car an incredible exhaust note, one that today still stands as one of the greatest of all time. Stunning design, luxurious craftsmanship, and exclusivity make it a collector-grade masterpiece. If you’re looking for a supercar that captures one of the greatest moments in recent automotive history, the Lexus LFA is the perfect machine to add to any luxury or exotic car collection. However, with only 500 made, it’s not the easiest supercar for sale to find. That’s why duPont REGISTRY, the source for supercars since 1985, is the best place to look for a Lexus LFA for sale. Check out some of the best ones below. With the Nürburgring Package in 2011, the Lexus LFA managed a 7:14.64 lap time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, which at the time broke the road-legal production car lap record at the circuit. What is the Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package? Inspired by the 24 Hours of Nürburgring Lexus LFA prototype race car, the Nürburgring Package enhanced and revised the LFA specifically for optimal performance at the revered, challenging, and globally notorious German race track. It features more aggressive aerodynamics, 0.15-second gear changes (improved by 0.05 seconds compared to the standard car’s 0.2-second changes), a track-tuned suspension, revised wheels, a prominent fixed rear wing, and 10 more horsepower than the standard car’s 552 horsepower, bringing it to 562. The rare package was limited to just 50 examples, but reportedly 64 were actually made. However, only 25 made it to the United States. What colors does the Lexus LFA come in? 1-of-500 2012 Lexus LFA Listed For Sale

This rare engineering masterpiece could be yours. The Lexus LFA was a groundbreaking supercar. Relatively new to the luxury automotive space, Lexus introduced itself in the early 1990s by sending shockwaves with engineering excellence and luxurious elegance. However, it wasn’t until the late 2000s that Lexus fully flexed its performance muscles with the introduction of its flagship performance car: the LFA. Unlike anything Lexus had ever done before, the LFA held a naturally aspirated V10 engine under the hood. With 553 horsepower, and an engine note that remains one of the most celebrated in the world courtesy of development with Yamaha, it remains one of the most revered supercars ever made. Only 500 Lexus LFAs were made, and coming on the scene as collector-grade masterpieces, the allure for cars like these, especially in a time when the automotive industry is changing so rapidly, has only grown. It is very difficult to find a Lexus LFA for sale, and duPont REGISTRY is the place to look, having been the source for supercars since 1985. Listed for sale is this 2012 Lexus LFA, which is number 249 of 500 cars, and it’s available at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, Connecticut. Boasting the iconic white paintwork of the Lexus LFA, the interior reveals a rare configuration, with red leather accents, as well as red brake calipers outside, interrupting the elegant monochrome black-and-white color scheme, adding a performance edge. In true time-capsule fashion, it also comes complete with two keys, accessories, the accompanying literature, and a battery charger. Lexus LFA Screams to 9,000 RPM on the Dyno

Akio Toyoda told his engineers that cost was not an object when developing the LFA. Given a decade of development and countless millions of dollars, the company lost money on each of the 500 cars. Nevertheless, there are those among us (including Yours Truly) who can't leave a car in its original form. That is why the team at EKanooRacing wanted to see what their LFA was capable of before any modifications. This Lexus LFA screams to 9,500 rpm on the dyno, making 531 WHP & 370 lb-ft of torque. Lexus LFA Price, Specs, Photos & Review Since 4th gear in the LFA is 1.23:1, these numbers are lower than what the engine actually sends to the rear tires. Yamaha designed the LFA's V10 to have a perfect harmonic balance from idle to 10,000 rpm, so nothing like it will ever be built again. If you are in the market for a Lexus LFA, their prices have been steadily rising. Nothing like this car will ever happen again, so it will stand as a testament to Akio Toyoda's demand for perfection. Only 497 cars were built, and this is #108. Ordered in white with a blue interior, you will never see another example in this spec. It was a shining star of our display at the 2016 Tampa Auto Show, and I was privileged to drive it to and from the show. This car is flawless inside and out, and as docile as a kitten in traffic. The paparazzi only spotter her driving it twice, so it is still in showroom condition. Marshall Goldman only invests in cars that appreciate in value, and they own everything in their inventory. 2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring For Sale

Sakichi Toyoda was born in 1867 to a poor family. Japan was in upheaval as the Shoguns slowly acquiesced to the new Emperor. Looking for a way to provide for his family, he used carpentry skills to build complex looms. Patenting Japan's first hand-loom in 1891, he was only 24 years old. Weaving delicate tapestries for wealthy patrons, his machines became popular around the empire. Sakichi Toyoda Fast-forward 140 years and his Great-Grandson accomplished the same task. Needing a stronger material for his supercar, Akio Toyoda and his team at Lexus invented the circular carbon fiber loom. Sure, you could build a car out of normal carbon fiber, but what if the final shape could be woven into the material? " width="680"> After patenting and building a 3D carbon fiber loom, it allowed the Lexus LFA Nurburgring to have a chassis that is still orders of magnitude stronger than any current production car. Armed with a capable monocoque, Yamaha was brought on board to build an engine unlike any other. Because every Yamaha product is tuned like a musical instrument, the 4.8L V10 can scream from idle to 9,000 rpm in 0.6 seconds. Titanium internals and a 72-degree firing order produce the smoothest V10 of all time, with Toyota engineers calling it the "roar of an angel" Each cylinder has its own throttle body, fed by a variable-length manifold. At the flywheel, the carbon fiber torque tube is geared to spin faster than engine rpm. Not only does it act as energy storage, it removes any harmonics associated with all rear-mounted transmissions. A six-speed single-clutch sequential is the only transmission offered. Lexus LFA Price, Specs, Photos & Review After racing around the world, they decided to build the final 50 cars to be capable of attacking the Green Hell. The Nurburgring Edition cars offered 563 horsepower at 8,100 rpm, and 354 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm. A massive carbon spoiler replaced the active rear wing. The transmission was recalibrated to shift 0.05s faster, and dive planes were added to the front end. " width="680"> With Akira Lida at the wheel, a 2011 prototype ran a blistering 7:14.64 on stock Bridgestone Potenza rubber. It was 10 seconds faster than the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, being clocked at 185 going uphill. Over a decade of design and development led to Lexus offering one of the fastest production cars of all time. No turbos, no hybrid assist, just innovation and attention to the smallest detail. Nothing like this will happen again in our lifetimes, so don't miss this opportunity. Our friends at Pagani Beverly Hills are offering this one with delivery miles only. It is the first Nurburgring Edition to be priced under $1 Million, so call them before I do! Lexus LFA: Why to Buy

Sakichi Toyoda is honored in Japan as the "King of Inventors" He invented the world's first automatic loom, enabling Japan's textile industry to take on the world. He patented it in 1926 at only 93 years old. History repeats itself in amazing ways, and his great-grandson would unveil the world's most complex automatic loom in 2011. Not for textiles, this loom had one purpose: building the ultimate carbon fiber supercar. The Lexus LFA was and is a statement of Toyota's engineering dominance. Akio's vision was to shake up the world's most exotic automakers with a car unlike any other. After the body was woven as one-piece, it was vacuum bagged and fired in an autoclave. After a decade of trial and error, what emerged was a light & aerodynamic monster. The window sticker had an MSRP of $375,000, so they decided to give it a Lexus badge as their premier brand. LFA Driveline Browse Lexus LFA For Sale Because the weave of the carbon fiber gives it such strength, the Lexus LFA does without the traditional aluminum subframes used by McLaren and Lamborghini. It has been compared to the strength of the Brooklyn Bridge, which could support itself even without the support cables. A car this strong does not need stiff suspension, so it is a pleasure to drive. " width="680"> When you ask the average enthusiast what "tuned" is, they probably guess fuel and ignition timing. While this is critical in any car, Akio pushed his engineers to tune every component. Turning to their family friends at Yamaha, he set goals for the resonant frequency of every part. From the coolant surge tank to the door handle springs, every possible vibration will happen at speed only rockets can travel. That translates to the car feeling more solid than anything you have experienced. If you could drive a Stradivarius, this is it. Rejecting the notion that small engines and big turbos are the future, many of us figured it would be a naturally aspirated V8. The world was shocked to find a perfectly balanced V10. The cylinder heads are separated by 72 degrees (720-degree firing order divided by 10 cylinders). This makes it the smoothest V10 ever offered in a production car. Thanks again to Yamaha, every moving part has an incredible harmonic balance. This allows the 4.8L engine to reach 9,000 rpm in 0.6 seconds. This is faster than the tachometer can respond. All those harmonic parts add up, and the LFA can shatter even the finest crystal wine glasses with its exhaust roar. After having seat time in several examples, the car is a kitten while cruising around. Aside from looking like a work of art, it is tame when shifted early. Pull back on the paddle and invoke the beast. The engine erupts with a rage that would scare Formula 1 drivers. It sends 553 horsepower and 354 lb-ft to a carbon fiber driveshaft. Matching Luggage Was Optional You might be quick to dismiss those numbers. Sure they build prototypes with more power, but the LFA doesn't need more. Because even the smallest parts work in unison, you will have more acceleration and grip than your Italian friends. This project cost so much, Toyota lost money on each car sold. The only way to experience this masterpiece is to drive one, so click the link below to find one near you. Browse Lexus LFA For Sale " width="680"> Featured Image Source: RM Sotheby's

Lexus LFA vs LC500 Races and Brake Test: A Battle of Gene...

The Lexus LFA has been out of production for a few years now, but it's still in our hearts. Lexus created the LFA as the second model in their F line of models and it exceeded all expectations. It's V10 engine screamed unlike any other car, thanks to its finely tuned exhaust system which has been regarded as one of the best sounding cars ever. It wasn't until the LC500 that Lexus had created a sports car that could come close to the LFA. But, does the LC500 hold up against the LFA? Mat Watson took the two cars out for some tests to see how they compare. After a drag race, rolling race and brake test, the answer was clear.
