How To Buy: Assouline's Richard Mille: The Impossible Collection

Everything you need to know about Richard Mille. From the eyes of a new independent watchmaker, the luxury watch industry seems daunting, to say the least. With household names like Rolex, Cartier, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe leading the way, it's a niche market filled with age-old brands that embody centuries of success and expertise. Establishing a world-renowned presence with bold designs and massive price tags, Richard Mille has quickly evolved into a luxury powerhouse in less than 25 years, proving that you don't need to be a pioneer to find yourself in the upper echelon of horology. Celebrating Richard Mille and its history of creating some of the world's most exclusive and innovative watches, Assouline Publishing recently debuted the release of its all-new Richard Mille: The Impossible Collection as part of The Ultimate Collection series. Richard Mille hasn't been around long by Swiss watchmaking standards but has made waves like few others. Known for its futuristic design and cutting-edge materials, Richard Mille watches have become go-to pieces for athletes, collectors, and celebs looking for something bold and performance-oriented. A new collector's book curated by watch expert Fabienne Reybaud highlights 79 of the brand's most memorable models, from the original RM 001 to the technically wild RM 16-02. Even the book itself leans into the Mille aesthetic, wrapped in textured rubber to reflect the look and feel of the brand's signature straps. What makes Richard Mille stand out is the mix of engineering and experimentation. Whether it's the lightweight cases made from materials borrowed from aerospace or the skeletonized movements that look like mini machines, these watches are unlike anything you've seen before. Richard Mille's partnerships with names like Rafael Nadal and McLaren bring that high-performance mindset front and center. This new release gives collectors and enthusiasts a closer look at the creative chaos behind the scenes. For anyone who's ever been curious about what makes a Richard Mille tick, this is a laid-back, inside look at one of the most unconventional watch brands out there. Singer Drivers Club Opens Exclusive Private Track Experience at Willow Springs

In Southern California’s high desert, where motorsport heritage runs deep, a new chapter in luxury automotive culture is taking shape. Singer, in partnership with CrossHarbor Capital Partners, has officially launched the Singer Drivers Club – an exclusive, members-only driving and hospitality experience set within the historic Willow Springs Raceway. The debut signals a significant evolution for Willow Springs, established in 1953 and the oldest continuously operating road course in the United States. Long revered as a proving ground for drivers, the circuit is now being thoughtfully reimagined as a world-class automotive destination – one that blends high-performance driving with elevated hospitality while remaining fully accessible to the public. Its three road courses will remain open to the public. At the heart of this transformation is the Singer Drivers Club, a distinct and independent layer within the broader property. Limited to approximately 400 members, with a starting membership price of $450,000, the club introduces a new level of exclusivity and personalization, combining concierge services, professional driver coaching, and a bespoke food and beverage program. The result is a curated environment designed not only for performance, but for connection, comfort, and community. “We’re incredibly excited to open the Singer Drivers Club as part of this next chapter, one that brings new energy, investment, and attention to Willow Springs,” said Sam Byrne, co-founder of CrossHarbor Capital Partners. “From the outset, it was essential to us that Willow Springs remains a place for everyone who loves motorsports. “While the Singer Drivers Club introduces a new, private layer of hospitality and experience, all three road courses will remain open to the public, honoring Willow Springs’ legacy as a driver-focused circuit, elevating safety, infrastructure, and overall quality for the community.” Drawing on CrossHarbor’s experience developing the renowned Yellowstone Club in Montana, the venture applies a five-star hospitality lens to a traditionally performance-driven environment. That approach aligns seamlessly with Singer’s philosophy – one rooted in craftsmanship, precision, and an uncompromising attention to detail. “Singer’s based around a simple philosophy: Everything is Important,” said Rob Dickinson, Founder and Creative Director of Singer, which reimagines Porsche 911s in collaboration with their owners. “Focusing on the details elevates the whole experience. It applies to racetracks, just as it does to sports cars. Willow Springs is part of the automotive fabric and deserves to be reborn as a world-class circuit for anyone who visits.” Unlike traditional private track clubs, which often center on a single circuit or discipline, the Singer Drivers Club offers access to multiple driving environments within one destination. Members can engage in a range of activities – from high-speed circuit driving to technical skill development and off-road exploration – without ever leaving the property. Former Formula 1 driver and Le Mans winner Alex Wurz’s company has enhanced both the track’s design and its safety. A key highlight of the experience is access to a fleet of Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport vehicles, providing a rare opportunity for members to explore performance at an elevated level. This is complemented by professional driver coaching supported by video and data analysis, enabling continuous improvement and deeper engagement behind the wheel. Further enriching the experience is the karting program, anchored by the Jenson Button Karting Circuit. Named after the 2009 Formula 1 World Champion, Button also serves as an ambassador for the club. Beyond the track, Singer Drivers Club places equal emphasis on hospitality and lifestyle. Dedicated member spaces, including the Streets Paddock House and Member Lounge, offer refined environments complete with bar and lounge areas, locker facilities, simulators, and conference rooms. These thoughtfully designed spaces ensure that the experience extends seamlessly from driving sessions to relaxation and social engagement. Accessibility is also a defining feature. Located within reach of Los Angeles and just minutes from William J. Fox Airfield, the club provides a convenient yet immersive escape for members seeking both performance and privacy. Membership is not limited to Singer owners, instead welcoming a broader community of enthusiasts who share an appreciation for design, engineering, and driving purity. The experience extends well beyond the confines of Willow Springs. Members gain access to a curated calendar of events, including track days, rallies, destination drives, and social gatherings, as well as VIP entry to leading automotive and luxury events around the world. This global dimension reinforces the club’s positioning as not just a track, but a lifestyle platform. Importantly, the launch represents only the first phase of a broader reinvestment in Willow Springs. Continuous upgrades to infrastructure, safety systems, and facilities are planned, ensuring that both members and the wider motorsports community benefit from the long-term vision. In bringing together heritage, performance, and hospitality, the Singer Drivers Club reimagines what a modern automotive destination can be. It is a place where the thrill of driving meets the refinement of luxury living – set against the backdrop of one of America’s most storied racetracks, now poised for its next era. The Rolex From Drake’s ‘Take Care’ Cover Just Hit the Market for $500K

Any passionate watch collector or enthusiast will tell you that the story behind a piece is often more significant than the watch itself, and in many instances, that’s what drives the premium on specific examples. Whether it's a historic race-worn chronograph or a celeb-owned sport model with papers to prove, these are the types of storytelling watches that require collectors to act fast and strike while the iron’s hot. One piece making headlines is a gold Rolex GMT-Master II once featured on Drake's album cover, now listed as part of Wind Vintage’s extensive inventory of world-class, collector-grade timepieces. What started life as a not-so-average GMT Master II (ref. 116758SANR), featured as part of Rolex’s coveted off-catalog collection from 2006, quickly became part of music history when it appeared on the cover of Drake’s iconic album ‘Take Care’ in 2011. The Certified Diamond album art, showcasing the 18k yellow gold, diamond-set Rolex, went on to sell over 10 million copies while also securing entertainment accolades, including ranking 95th on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and winning Best Rap Album at the 55th Grammy Awards. The watch itself is a work of art in the best sense, elevating one of Rolex’s most legendary sports models with 36 baguette diamonds and 12 black sapphires. The lugs and crown guards are also covered in diamonds to give the case a full pavé look. The caseback is where Drake’s signature style comes into play, with the OVO owl logo enscribed on the back as a nod to his October's Very Own music label and fashion company. As part of the sale, the watch comes with full links, box and papers, and  OVO memorabilia, including the OWL statue on the cover of the album, clothing, and backstage passes. WeatherTech Founder's Vacant Beachfront Lot Just Sold for $105 Million

In luxury real estate, it always comes back to one thing: location, location, location. From breathtaking waterfront properties to some of the country’s most exclusive neighborhoods, prime spots are pulling in jaw-dropping prices, proving that even an empty piece of land can turn into a $100 million headline. That’s exactly the case for 1120 S Ocean Blvd, a rare vacant lot in Manalapan, FL, that recently made headlines in the real estate world after selling for an impressive $105,000,000 after being listed by Margit Brandt with Premier Estate Properties.  Nestled along a private oceanfront neighborhood in Palm Beach County, often referred to as “Billionaires Beach Town”, the nine-figure plot of land joins other notable real estate sales, including Oracle CTO Larry Ellison’s 16-acre ocean-to-lake estate purchased for $173 million in 2022. The sale comes courtesy of WeatherTech Founder David McNeil, who originally purchased two adjacent pieces of land for $94 million to create this 3.5-acre vacant lot with more than 342 feet of direct beachfront along the Atlantic Ocean. For the new owner, the future construction plans are unknown, but lot size estimates suggest that a 60,000+ sq ft home could fit perfectly on the pristine, highly elevated piece of land. Set along the Intracoastal with a newly built seawall, the property sits just minutes from private airports, spots like L’Eau Palm Beach and Nobu, and everything Palm Beach Island has to offer. Whether it’s a quick run into town for dinner, an easy hop down to Miami, or simply enjoying the privacy of a beachfront escape, 1120 S Ocean Blvd is a blank canvas with endless possibilities. Moët Hennessy Joins Monaco’s Racing Legacy

If you’ve followed motorsport long enough, then you know the Automobile Club de Monaco is the backbone of some of the racing world’s most iconic moments. Founded back in 1890, the ACM has been the visionary behind events like the Monaco Grand Prix and the Rallye Monte-Carlo, races that feel like Christmas morning to the growing community of global motorsport fans. Monaco, for all its flash, still runs on a pretty traditional layout: tight streets, zero margin for error, and an old-school atmosphere that you really can’t find anywhere else. The ACM takes great pride in balancing that tradition with subtle changes to keep things relevant. The news that Moët Hennessy is stepping in as an official partner is the perfect space for one of the world’s most prestigious names in luxury drinks. With Moët & Chandon now the official champagne, the focus returns to one of racing’s most exciting traditions: the podium spray. And Monaco has always been one of the places where that moment hits a little differently, especially for drivers earning their spot on the podium. It’s been 30 years since Olivier Panis pulled off his unlikely win on these same streets, a race that's still brought up whenever the Monaco GP is part of the conversation. The appeal has always been in the mix of precision and unpredictability, with a layer of ritual baked in on top. This partnership focuses on the race, the setting, and the small details that end up sticking around long after the cars are gone. Source: Automobile Club de Monaco

Richard Mille Reveals Its New $212,000 RM 55-01

For generations, timepieces largely followed a familiar playbook in design, but modern haute horology has flipped that on its head, proving there really is no blueprint anymore as brands continue to break molds and push boundaries in pursuit of something entirely new. One of those breakthrough brands is Richard Mille, which has taken the watch world by storm since its launch in 2001, showcasing rugged, reliable models defined by its signature tonneau-shaped cases and ultra-complex movements. The all-new RM 55-01 focuses fully on that perspective, embracing an airy approach that prioritizes lightness, transparency, and balance. At the heart of the RM 55-01 is Richard Mille’s new, in-house Caliber RMUL4, a manual-winding movement that weighs in at under five grams. Refraining from an automatic rotor allows light to move freely through the openworked design, adding to that sense of weightlessness both visually and physically. The movement is built on a grade 5 titanium baseplate, a material more commonly seen in aerospace engineering, and finished with microblasting and black PVD for a stealthy look. Its bridges are also made of titanium and treated with Titalyt to create a suspended effect, giving the watch a sense of weight without ever feeling it on your wrist.Available in Carbon TPT, White Quartz TPT, and Grey Quartz TPT, the RM 55-01 reflects Richard Mille’s obsession with new materials and performance-focused designs. On the wrist, it’s all about comfort and balance, with a presence that doesn’t scream for attention but definitely deserves a closer look. The RM 55-01 shows how far modern skeleton watch design can go when you focus on the essentials.

Enduring Icons: Timeless Style

Some things don’t really change, and that’s usually a good sign. Long before trends started moving at the pace they do now, style was built on consistency through pieces that worked, lasted, and didn’t need constant updates. That’s part of what made figures like Paul Newman and Steve McQueen stand out. Their approach was about wearing the same well-designed pieces over and over until they became part of who they were. Whether it was a pair of sunglasses, a worn-in jacket, or a trusted watch, the focus stayed on things that felt natural and held up over time. That same mindset carries over into the products that have managed to stick around for decades, and in some cases, over a century. These are the pieces that have already proven themselves through craftsmanship, materials, and design that simply work. From heritage denim and mechanical watches to handmade luggage and classic footwear, each one reflects a level of consistency that’s hard to replicate.  Oliver Peoples Paul Newman Price Starts at $493 Oliver Peoples looks to Paul Newman’s legacy as a timeless style icon, taking cues from the sunglasses he wore on movie sets, at the racetrack, and in everyday life. Newman’s approach to style was simple and consistent—nothing showy, just well chosen. The optical and sun styles follow the same idea: built around classic shapes, clean lines, and subtle details that don’t call attention to themselves, and that still hold up decades later. Levi's 1961 557 Trucker Jacket Price: $405 Description Levi’s has been setting the standard for timeless style for generations with its denim, and the 1961 557 Trucker Jacket is part of that enduring story. The stitch-for-stitch reproduction keeps the original proportions, from the waist-length fit to the big “E” red tab and side adjusters. Made from pre-shrunk denim with a special dye process, it’s designed to fade and change with wear, becoming more personal over time, just as a true Levi’s classic should. Leica M6 Price: $6,415 Leica has long stood as a symbol of photography for over a century, and the M6 continues that legacy. Compact and intnuitive, it puts the essentials in your hands: reliable mechanics, a bright viewfinder, and the classic red Leitz logo, so you can focus on capturing moments that matter. Handmade in Germany, the M6 combines modern improvements with the character of its 1984 predecessor, offering a camera that’s both enduring and precise, just like Leica itself. G.H. Bass Larson Weejuns® Venetian Loafer Price: $200 G.H. Bass started a tradition with the original Weejuns® penny loafer in 1936, and it’s still going strong today. Designed to hug the foot with a single-piece leather construction and extra cushioning, G.H. Bass loafers balance comfort with a clean, classic look. The leather sole can be resoled, letting them last for years while keeping their signature profile. More than just shoes, Weejuns® are a piece of style history you can wear every day. Omega Speedmaster ‘First Omega In Space’ Price: $8,900 OMEGA’s Speedmaster ‘First OMEGA In Space’ has a history in space exploration but lives comfortably on Earth today. First worn by astronaut Walter Schirra in 1962, this updated special edition keeps the original’s spirit with a 39.7 mm stainless steel case, classic tachymeter bezel, and vintage-inspired dial details. With modern Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement and thoughtful touches like the flat-link bracelet, it’s proof that a space-ready chronograph can become a timeless icon. Globe-Trotter Centenary Carry-On (4 Wheels) Price: $2,695 Globe-Trotter’s Centenary Carry-On keeps over a century of luggage craftsmanship alive, combining durability with classic style. Made from their signature vulcanised fibreboard with leather corners and gold-tone hardware, it’s built to last through years of travel. Lightweight and rolling smoothly on four wheels, it’s easy to glide through airports or city streets. Perfect for a weekend escape or a quick business trip, it’s a carry-on that looks as good as it travels for years to come.

Inside L’Epée 1839’s Wildest Creations at Watches and Wonders

At Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, where the usual heavy hitters tend to dominate the conversation, L’Epée 1839 shows up doing its own thing, and honestly, that’s kind of the point. While most of the festivities are centered around what goes on your wrist, L’Epée goes in the opposite direction with sculptural clocks that take shape as true works of art. I’ve witnessed them in person, and they’re the kind of pieces that stop you mid-walk because you’re trying to figure out exactly what you’re looking at, and how it even works. It’s a refreshing shift in luxury watch world, and one that tends to pull people back for a second (or third) look. Originally founded by Auguste L’Epée, the brand has more than 185 years of traditional clockmaking behind it, which makes its newest novelties even more impressive. It’s not like this is a newcomer experimenting for the sake of it. L’Epée has done the serious, technical side for generations, from escapements to carriage clocks. What collectors and enthusiasts are seeing in Geneva today is more of an evolution of a pioneer, and the future of clockwork. Modern marvels like The Belly Tank Racer and The Gekko are more expressive and more fun, while still grounded in real mechanical art. In a space filled with dive watches and perpetual calendars, that balance lands well. The Belly Tank Racer GALLERY-EMBED The Belly Tank Racer from L’Epée 1839 pays homage to early hot-rod legends born from WWII aircraft leftovers, sparking an automotive era unlike any other. Housed in a long, lightweight aluminum body, each piece draws inspiration from vintage land-speed racers, featuring a low, streamlined shape and a polished finish. Time is displayed on two transparent discs for hours and minutes, set by rotating the minute disc manually. Around the back, the winding system is built into the rear wheels. Turn them like a pullback car, and it charges the in-house movement, which delivers an 8-day power reserve. The build combines materials like palladium-plated brass, stainless steel, and acrylic, with steel rims and actual rubber tires adding to the automotive detailing. Limited to 99 pieces, it’s offered in multiple colors including blue, green, metallic grey, red, and black. The Gekko GALLERY-EMBED  The Gekko from L’Epée 1839 features a wall-mounted design, built around an openworked in-house movement with an 8-day power reserve. The design is modeled after the lizard itself, with the escapement positioned in the head and a detailed metal structure across the dial that mirrors the texture of gecko skin. Time is displayed by a rotating ring, which can be adjusted depending on how you position the clock.  There are 10 wall-mounted positions plus a freestanding option on its legs, so it’s designed to be appreciated from all angles. Winding is handled by moving the tail side to side, while time-setting is done on the back with a dedicated key. The Gekko combines stainless steel, brass, and lacquered parts with a mix of satin and polished finishes. Like the rest of the collection, it’s limited to 99 pieces and available in finishes including full gold-plated, black and silver, and champagne.

Roger Dubuis Just Revealed Its Most Extreme Excalibur Watches Yet

For an industry rooted in centuries of tradition, the world of luxury watches has become a lot more open-minded over the past few decades. What was once all about sticking to the classics has shifted into something more expressive, with brands feeling comfortable experimenting, taking risks, and pushing the limits of what a modern wristwatch can actually be.  Roger Dubuis is one of the unrestrained brands that take pride in going against the grain and continuing to write its own history with flagship models like the Excalibur. Today, at Watches and Wonders Geneva, Roger Dubuis is proud to showcase the next generation of Excalibur watches, featuring everything from a complex perpetual calendar to a gem-set work of art for women.  While Roger Dubuis first introduced the Excalibur in 2005, defined by its skeletonized design and double tourbillon, the collection hasn’t stood still, continuing to evolve with a mix of bold creativity, freedom, and just the right amount of madness. That mindset is front and center once again at Watches and Wonders Geneva, where the latest Excalibur models take things even further, introducing new materials, sharper aesthetics, and complications that continue to blur the line between watchmaking and pure mechanical art.  Excalibur Biretrograde Perpetual Calendar GALLERY-EMBED The latest from Roger Dubuis takes its signature biretrograde style and pushes it into a more evolved space with a new perpetual calendar built around the RD850 caliber. Cased in pink gold and sized at 40mm, it pairs sweeping retrograde day and date displays with a precise astronomical moonphase that’s accurate for well over a century. The open-work dial focuses on a celestial theme, layering different textures and tones of deep “Astral Blue” for an atmospheric look. Inside, the upgraded movement brings practical upgrades too, like an easier month adjustment and a solid 60-hour power reserve. Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar Steel GALLERY-EMBED The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar showcases subtle styling while retaining everything that defines Roger Dubuis. Sized at 40mm and finished in steel, it leans into a sport-chic space, but the real focus is the signature biretrograde display, with the day and date sweeping across the dial. The deep “Cosmic Blue” dial adds a lot of depth, especially with its layered look, which gives it real depth in different light. Inside, the RD840 caliber keeps things reliable with a 60-hour power reserve while still meeting the brand’s high standards. The Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar is completed with a multi-link bracelet in stainless steel. An additional blue rubber strap is also included with each watch, completed with a triple folding clasp in stainless steel. Excalibur Lady of the Lake GALLERY-EMBED The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Lady of the Lake takes the brand’s signature storytelling approach and gives it a feminine edge. Inspired by the legend of Viviane, a key Arthurian enchantress , Roger Dubuis layers its dial in shades of grey, mixing textures and materials to create a miniature scene rather than a standard watch face. The rose gold case features a jewelry-like design, complete with a diamond-set bezel that adds an extra layer of luxury. Flip it over, and the automatic RD830 beats as its mechanical heart.
