For Louis Dos Santos Jr. (@dossantoscollective), both worlds intertwine in his San Diego studio, where some of the most iconic automobiles serve as inspiration for his concrete sculptures. Some of his most popular works include timeless silhouettes of the Ferrari F40, Porsche 911 Turbo, BMW E30, and so many others.
As part of his latest release, Dos Santos Collective is partnering with Petrolicious to offer a small-scale concrete model of the legendary Porsche 917, available exclusively on Petrolicious. Few race cars sit closer to the heart of Porsche purists than the Porsche 917.
Born in an era when endurance racing pushed both drivers and their cars to the limit, it helped cement (no pun intended) Porsche as a force in motorsports while showcasing one of the most unforgettable shapes the sport has ever seen. Even decades later, the 917’s long, flowing bodywork feels less like a race car and more like a rolling sculpture, especially in this case, which is exactly why it inspired Louis to immortalize it as art.
As if having your own, hand-poured cement Porsche wasn’t enticing enough, the first 100 buyers will also receive a limited-edition numbered plaque that doubles as the base for the 917 model. The concrete base is designed to evoke a section of the race track where Porsche Motorsport brought the 917 to life and continues to honor its legacy, and it’s inscribed with “xxx/100” and “Chassis 917-022.”
