After 40 years, duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars capture moments in automotive history. This year, duPont REGISTRY, the source for supercars since 1985, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In that time, some of the world’s most desirable, iconic, and influential luxury and exotic cars have graced the cover of our magazine over the past 40 years, and together, the cover cars of duPont REGISTRY’s hundreds of monthly issues tell a story of automotive history and its evolution since the ‘80s. Looking back at duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars from the year 2000, some serious nostalgia is stirred up for any automotive enthusiast, and each year, a cover car shows an iconic moment of the past, when a car we see as a classic today was the hottest new creation on the market. Take a trip down memory lane and look at our 2000 magazine covers below, seeing what the luxury and exotic car world had to offer at the dawn of the new millenium, and continue to celebrate our milestone anniversary by buying a copy of our special 40th anniversary edition magazine. Buy Our 40th Anniversary Issue January - Pagani Zonda C12 For Pagani, this was the supercar that began a legacy. After working for Lamborghini, Horacio Pagani decided to create his own supercar with unique design and the ambitious use of carbon fiber, a bold innovation at the time. The result was the Zonda C12, a Mercedes-Benz V12-powered masterpiece with bold looks that would spur an incredible legacy of supercars and hypercars from Pagani that we know today. To start off the new millenium, the Zonda C12 starred on duPont REGISTRY's January 2000 cover. February - Shelby Cobra Alongside the Super X motorcycle from the revived Excelsior-Henderson of the late '90s, the ever-iconic Shelby Cobra was the star of our February 2000 "Choices" cover. March - BMW Z8 BMW's premier roadster of the early 2000s, the Z8, is still celebrated today as a cherished and collectible piece of automotive excellence, and it served as the March 2000 cover star of duPont REGISTRY. 4.0.3 April - Porsche 911 Turbo The 996 Porsche 911 Turbo was the cover star of the April 2000 duPont REGISTRY, continuing a tradition of Porsche 911s starring as the cover of April Anniversary issues and celebrating the 15th Anniversary cover. duPont REGISTRY 40th Anniversary - Cover Cars: 1996

Looking back at duPont REGISTRY’s cover cars from the year 1996, some serious nostalgia is stirred up for any automotive enthusiast, and each year, a cover car shows an iconic moment of the past, when a car we see as a classic today was the hottest new creation on the market. Take a trip down memory lane and look at our 1996 magazine covers below, and continue to celebrate our milestone anniversary by buying a copy of our special 40th anniversary edition magazine. Buy Our 40th Anniversary Issue January - Lamborghini Diablo "VTTT" Two extra "t"s designate the fact that this Lamborghini on the January 1996 cover of duPont REGISTRY is something truly special. An example of the all-wheel drive Diablo VT, something rare in the world of supercars at the time, the twin-turbo upgrade given to this specific Diablo gives it hair-raising performance. February - BMW Z3 BMW's legendary Z3, an icon of beauty and fun-to-drive character, starred on duPont REGISTRY's February 1996 cover, already building its legacy as a weekend driving masterpiece. March - Mercedes-Benz SL Presented with "choices" in March 1996, the cover of duPont REGISTRY begs the question: would you rather drive a stunning '90s Mercedes-Benz SL, or a classic-inspired motorcycle? 4.0.3 April - Porsche 911 The Porsche 911 was solidified as an April, or Anniversary Issue staple for the cover of duPont REGISTRY in 1996, and this gorgeous 993-generation Porsche 911 set against rows of palm trees is no exception. May - Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster The all-wheel drive, open-top flagship supercar roadster from Lamborghini, the Diablo VT Roadster, was shown off with front and rear three-quarter shots on our May 1996 cover. 4.0.3 June - Ferrari F40 Emblazoned with the signature of baseball star Reggie Jackson, the legendary Ferrari F40 is shown off on our June 1996 cover, a cherished and mythical example of Ferrari's performance engineering mettle. July - Chevrolet Corvette Kitted in matching patriotic liveries, the Corvette in two different ears is shown off on our July 1996 cover, as was par for the course. August - Ferrari Testarossa Both eras of the Ferrari Testarossa nomenclature are shown on our August 1996 cover, both the historic racer and the retro supercar, that, while discontinued by the time the cover debuted, was already an icon like any Ferrari. September - Jaguar XK8 An icon of Jaguar's grand touring luxury at the time, the incredibly elegant XK8, whose sleek design still holds up today in a way not dissimilar to the legendary E-type, was the cover star of duPont REGISTRY's September 1996 cover. October - Vector Avtech WX-3 Successor to the infamous Vector W8, America's incredibly ambitious groundbreaking supercar, the WX-3 prototype never made it to series production and only saw two examples made. Nevertheless, it's depicted with a patriotic livery on our October 1996 cover. November - Bentley Continental T Bentley's ultra-luxurious British excellence took over the November 1996 cover of duPont REGISTRY, with the historic brand's Continental T gracing the cover. 4.0.3 December - Porsche Boxster A different kind of Porsche graces the December 1996 cover of duPont REGISTRY than the typical 911s of years past: the Boxster. Introduced that year in 1996, the Boxster introduced a new era of mid-engined Porsche sports cars to the fray, with a design that would eventually be echoed on the eventual 996 911 that would end the air-cooled 911 era. That era of mid-engined Porsche sports cars is only ending now, lasting nearly 30 years. Our special 40th anniversary issue is out now! Along with everything that makes each duPont REGISTRY issue a must-read, this special commemorative issue features looks back on duPont REGISTRY's history, like a look back on our covers throughout the decades, and a retrospective look at Ferrari's halo car legacy.
