Maserati Delivers The First MCXtrema Racing Supercar At L...

Maserati brings its new racing supercar to fruition. The MC20 flipped the script for Maserati, continuing the legacy of the MC12 supercar and introducing a new approach to performance for the brand. Since then, Maserati has introduced a new design language, and the brand has heralded the Nettuno twin-turbo V6 engine, introduced in the MC20, as its premier performance engine. Now, the MC20 and its Nettuno V6 have served as the basis for new racing-ready machines, like the track-only MCXtrema and the newly-revealed, highly exclusive Maserati GT2 Stradale. During Monterey Car Week this year, Maserati delivered the first example of its new customer racing masterpiece at one of the most iconic race tracks in the world, the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The MCXtrema boasts 730 horsepower and only 62 examples of the new racing supercar will be made. During the delivery, the new Maserati MCXtrema raced around the iconic Laguna Seca track, taking on its legendary Corkscrew corner and its other elevation changes and challenges, driven by Maserati Chief test driver Andrea Bertolini. In addition to being a unique and rare Maserati racing masterpiece, the new Maserati MCXtrema comes with the “MCXperience,” admitting owners to an exclusive club with access to Maserati’s racing world, including drivers, technicians, access to on-track experiences, and custom racing equipment designed in collaboration between Maserati Centro Stile and Sparco. With the delivery of the first MCXtrema, a new era of Maserati racing begins. View all Maseratis For Sale Image Source: Maserati

The New Maserati GT2 Stradale Is A New Road-Legal Race Car

Maserati’s supercar renaissance goes even further. Maserati introduced the MC20 a few years ago, and it started a new chapter for the Trident. It was the first Maserati supercar since the legendary MC12 introduced the high-performance Nettuno twin-turbo V6 engine and spurred on a radical change in Maserati’s lineup. It ushered in a new design language, and after it came the open-top MC20 Cielo, the Grecale, the new GranTurismo and GranCabrio, and the Maserati GT2 race car and track-only Maserati MCXtrema based on the MC20. Maserati is continuing along that journey, introducing the new Maserati GT2 Stradale. Unveiled at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, one of the most prestigious events at Monterey Car Week, the new Maserati GT2 Stradale bridges the gap between the Maserati GT2 race car and the roadgoing Maserati MC20 supercar, bringing the racing machine’s aggressive style and performance focus to a new road-ready high-performance machine. With 640 horsepower from its evolved version of the Nettuno twin-turbo V6, it eclipses the MC20’s power figure by 10 horsepower and has a top speed of over 200 mph. It gets from 0-60 in just 2.8 seconds and promises a race-car feel while taking on incredible driving roads. Maserati offers exclusive Furoriserie customizations for the new GT2 Stradale while also offering packages dedicated to further improving performance, with items like Michelin semi-slick tires, carbon ceramic brakes, four-point seatbelts, a fire extinguisher, a new driving mode, and more. Exposed carbon fiber is available for detail pieces like the door sills, paddle shifters, diffusers, side skirts, hood, roof, and more. The striking launch color of the car comes from the Fuoriserie palette: Digital Aurora Matte. A blue with shades of red with a magenta mica, it provides a head-turning and unforgettable finish. Other Fuoriserie colors for the GT2 Stradale include Grigio Lamiera Matte, Digital Mint Matte, Nero Cometa Textured, Powder Nude Textured, Blu Corse, Azzurro Astro Matte, and Military Teal Matte. The standard colors are Nero Essenza, Blu Infinito, Gloss Giallo Genio, and Matte Bianco Audace. The interior combines aspects of the MC20 and the GT2 race car, with carbon fiber throughout, Alcantara upholstery, a carbon fiber floor, new racing-focused seats designed with Sabelt, and a sportier steering wheel with shift lights. Features like a modern infotainment system powered by the Android Automotive OS with over-the-air updates, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Amazon Alexa integration, as well as a Sonus faber sound system boasting 6 or an optional 12 speakers, give the new Maserati GT2 Stradale luxury grand touring appeal, while still brandishing profound racing ability. Maserati's high-performance lineup gained a significant new addition with its racing supercar hero now translated as a road-legal supercar in the new GT2 Stradale. Maserati Reveals 2 New Limited MC20 Editions To Celebrate...

Maserati’s unforgettable supercar is celebrated by its successor. The Maserati MC12 is one of the most legendary supercars ever to wear the manufacturer’s Trident emblem. Ushering the historic brand into the 21st century with a high-performance masterpiece, the MC12 was both a roadgoing supercar and a GT racer, which brought Maserati back to the racetrack competitively in 2004 for the first time in 37 years. 20 years later, the Maserati MC20 carries on the MC12’s legacy with its incredible looks and performance and the power of Maserati’s Nettuno V6 engine, making it the new flagship supercar from Maserati. It’s been 20 years since the introduction of the legendary MC12, and Maserati is celebrating its impact both on the road and the racetrack with two special editions of the MC20, inspired by the MC12 Stradale and the MC12 GT1 Vitaphone. The MC20 Icona is inspired by the MC12 Stradale, which itself paid homage to the Maserati Trofeo Light and the Birdcage Type 61. Through Maserati’s Furoiserie division, the MC20 Icona features a Bianco Audace and Blu Stradale livery, with blue brake calipers and a carbon fiber engine cover, all paying homage to the iconic white and blue of the Maserati MC12. The Maserati MC20 Leggenda pays homage to the Maserati MC12 GT1 Vitaphone, pairing Nero Essenza with Digital Mint Matte for its livery, with a yellow Trident on the grille and accents in Digital Mint to add more racing-inspired visual interest. Both special edition cars feature unique touches, like a custom interior that complements the livery, headrest embroidery with either “Icona” or “Leggenda,” and luxury features like the Sonus faber sound system, suspension lifter, carbon fiber interior package, and more. Only 20 examples of the Maserati MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda will be made, making each an ultra-exclusive ode to Maserati’s rich supercar history. With the unforgettable Maserati MC12 serving as inspiration, the Maserati MC20 pays an incredible tribute with its new special editions, carrying the MC12’s torch. 04 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore

By duPont REGISTRY –  April 15, 2024

Fully-Electric 2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Unveiled

It's been less than two months since Italian carmaker Maserati unveiled the GranTurismo's convertible sibling. In its latest announcement, however, the marque unveiled the fully electric variant that runs alongside it, the 2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore. Like the electric GT the carmaker announced back in late 2022, the GC Folgore rides on the same modular architecture as its coupe counterpart but adds a folding soft top while retaining its sleek and curvy bodywork. Beneath the metal, the GranCabrio Folgore and the GranTurismo are nearly identical. They count on an 800-volt electric architecture, which feeds three electric motors: one up front and two in the back. Power comes from a 92.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack, of which 83 kWh are usable and can charge at up to 270 kilowatts. This allows it to jump from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 18 minutes and cover a maximum distance of around 230 miles. On the performance side, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore produces 751 horsepower, while a temporary MaxBoost mode temporarily bumps that output up to 818 HP. Flat out, the Trident's latest convertible can sprint to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, just a tenth of a second behind the coupe, blast up to 124 mph in 9.1, and top out at 180 mph. The addition of its battery pack, along the roof's folding mechanism and the GC's additional strengthening bumps up its weight over its Coupe counterpart, but only by 176 lb, which considering this cabrio's 5,159 curb weight, is a marginal increase. It's that convertible roof, however, that makes the new Maserati GranCabrio Folgore one of the most interesting entrants to the electric vehicle world yet, as one of the first luxury grand touring EV convertibles to hit the market. In fact, the GranCabrio's bragging rights include being the first fully-electric convertible in the luxury segment, and being the fastest fully-electric convertible on the market. Being a soft top, Maserati says that the folded top is compact enough to leave enough room for luggage for four, and the roof is operable at speeds of up to 31 mph, and opens in a matter of only 14 seconds. A neck warming system also ensures the GranCabrio Folgore provides year-round comfort for open-top drives, making it an engaging, quick and luxurious grand tourer, all while being fully electric. The luxurious electric convertible is launched with an exclusive color: Liquid Rose Gold, paired with a Titan Grey fabric roof and an interior upholstered in Denim and Ice with contrasting stitching, showcasing the stunning bespoke abilities of Maserati's Fuoriserie customization program. With luxury, high-performance, EV futurism, and Maserati's iconic Italian sense of style, the new Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is set to be a game changer in the luxury performance EV world as one of the first convertible grand tourers in the segment. Maserati & Vita Power Reveal New Maserati Tridente Electr...

Maserati’s electrification journey sets sail. With its rapidly expanding Folgore lineup, Maserati is deeply committed to electrification, and the announcement of the MC20 Folgore supercar, and GranCabrio Folgore open-top grand tourer being added to the Trident’s all-electric portfolio, Maserati seeks to be at the forefront of electrification in the luxury performance automotive world. However, the automotive world isn’t the limit for Maserati’s pursuit of electrification, as the historic luxury manufacturer is now announcing the creation of a Maserati-branded electric boat. Joining forces with Vita Power, a marine manufacturer dedicated to revolutionizing boating through the use of fully electric powertrains, the new Maserati Tridente boat from Vita combines Vita’s marine innovation with Maserati’s iconic Italian design and approach to luxury. The Vita Maserati Tridente is an all-electric powerboat, boasting two motors paired with a 253-kWh battery pack, which provides an estimated range of up to 70 nautical miles and 600 maximum horsepower. Its luxurious accommodations include seating for up to 8, which can be configured in a dining or acceleration arrangement, as well as a sundeck, a bathing area with a shower, and an enclosed cabin with a day berth and WC. Built for lake or coastal day cruising, the vessel charges at up to 88kW, with two independent motors that can charge simultaneously in as little as one hour on a DC fast charger. Its innovation also goes beyond its electric powertrain, as it features carbon fiber construction by Hodgdon Yachts, in a hull shape that is unique to the Maserati Tridente. Vita Power has made its new Maserati Tridente available now, and its price starts at 2.5 million euros, which converts to under $2.7 million USD. With the iconic history of Maserati, the marine technology of Vita Power, and the ambitious vision of electrification of both joining forces, the new Vita Power Maserati Tridente is a luxurious and futuristic way to sail.
