Of the ten cars built, only one was commissioned by McLaren Chairman and CEO Ron Dennis. His letter to the team at MSO ordered ceramic brakes, stealth package, and carbon fiber engine bay. For the color, he chose to replicate McLaren's F1 car with Vodafone livery.
The changes are not just cosmetic. Front and rear spoilers were revised, and larger brake cooling ducts were fitted. Under the hood you will find signatures of the F1 team members along with the "Best In Class" award from Festivals of Speed St. Petersburg 2012. With only 203 miles and a complete history back to the desk of Mr. Dennis, this MP4-12C High Sport is an example of everything that is possible with McLaren Special Operations.
If you would like a chance to own this piece of history, Mecum will be showcasing it at their upcoming Kissimmee Auction, January 15-24. Expected to sell for $1.3-1.6 Million, what do you think it will sell for? Stay tuned to Autofluence for complete coverage of the event.
