One of the most interesting additions to the new GLE is the E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL. This is a 48-volt active suspension system that Mercedes says is a world first. The system controls the spring and damping forces at each wheel, allowing it to counteract body roll, pitching and squat. A great example of the application of this system is if one of the wheels were stuck in a ditch. Simply adjust the wheels on the touchscreen to adjust the car's height or traction so you can drive away without having to jump on the bumper.
Other notable features/updates of the new GLE include the inclusion of the MBUX system, updated Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC® and Active Steering Assist, optional Energizing Comfort system, and a longer wheelbase.
The new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE will be fully unveiled at the Mondial l'Automobile in Paris in October 2018 and will be up for sale in 2019.
