A new chapter is about to be opened in AMG’s history, with the unveiling of a new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. However, unlike the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe, the upcoming four-door counterpart is an all-electric vehicle that will be based on the new Mercedes-Benz AMG.EA all-electric architecture. The performance-focused EV platform uses axial flux motor technology to make a significant leap forward in the performance potential of Mercedes-AMG electric vehicles, and the new AMG GT 4-Door Coupe will be the first example of that technology in fruition.
The full reveal of the new electric performance car will take place on May 19, and ahead of it, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius joined F1 development driver and F1 Academy 2025 champion Doriane Pin to test-drive the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe to showcase its mettle. The video of the test drive is available to watch on YouTube, and it’s an exciting preview of what the new era of AMG.EA-powered electric vehicles will be capable of.
Thanks to its use of axial flux motors, as well as the high-tech AMG RACE ENGINEER control unit available to drivers for agility, traction control, and other settings, the driving experience of the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe will not only highlight its immense power but also its engaging character, all with the approval of a racing driver with an impressive background.
