In the United States, Polestar will not be able to sell new vehicles as of the 2027 model year, but the brand has announced that it will remain committed to its current customers with its service network and warranty commitments, while also selling cars from model years before 2027. However, the brand is still active across the globe and is continuing what it calls its “largest model offensive yet” in the coming years.
That includes the introduction of the Polestar 5 grand tourer to the market, as well as the new Polestar 4 SUV, a new Polestar 7 model, and a new generation of its inaugural BEV model, the Polestar 2. Ahead of that launch, which is planned for 2027, Polestar has confirmed a new concept car, Formula 2030, which is part of a wider 2030 strategy for the manufacturer.
The design of the Formula 2030 concept will preview a new design language for Polestar, spearheaded by Philipp Römers. Using several of the touches and iconic features seen in the Polestar lineup thus far, the new design language will be seen in the production Polestar 7 and the new Polestar 2.
About the new concept, Philipp Römers commented, “Polestar’s design and brand is already so strong, it was obvious we needed a bold evolution not revolution of what came before. Formula 2030 delivers this, showcasing our future while respecting brand-defining elements like the familiar Dual Blade headlights ensuring it remains recognisably a Polestar with a strong, characterful identity.”

The concept will be shown at The Cube, Polestar’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, at an event for investors, retailers, and VIP customers. After that, the Formula 2030 will make its global debut alongside the media drive of the Polestar 4 SUV. With a new concept and several models waiting in the wings to launch, the new Polestar 2030 is a preview of Polestar’s near future, with or without the United States market’s participation.
