Porsche’s track weapon enters the sneaker world.
New York-based designer Aimé Leon Dore’s collaboration with New Balance has resulted in some of the most desirable and iconic sneaker and fashion creations in recent years. Unique colorways and aesthetics combine modern artistry with inspiration from Aimé Leon Dore’s Queens, New York, upbringing. The latest product of the longstanding collaboration is the new New Balance 1000 sneaker, which will be available starting June 20.
A short film directed by Walid Labri announcing the new sneaker has been created and can be seen on New Balance Lifestyle’s Instagram. It features an interesting cameo from one of the automotive world’s biggest recent icons. Set in New York, the film captures the new New Balance 1000 sneaker at the center of the day-to-day activities of New Yorkers from all walks of life, including some intriguing fantasy scenes.
However, at the film's beginning, a woman says, “I’m Aimé Leon Dore,” while leaning out of the driver’s side window of a 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The car is set against the backdrop of a busy New York street, finished in the moody Arctic Grey paint color, and it’s also equipped with the iconic Weissach Package, further enhancing the track-ready car’s already formidable racing ability. As part of a captivating announcement for the newest addition to Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance’s collaborative portfolio, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS shows off its automotive excellence in the lifestyle sneaker world.
