The 1951 Earls Court Motor Show saw a group of Porsche 356 cars being showcased to the UK for the first time. 75 years later, that London appearance has blossomed into a celebrated and dominant presence of Porsche in the UK market. At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Porsche celebrated that anniversary, showcasing a limited-edition car dedicated to the anniversary and other exclusive creations at the festival.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition, inspired by the original 356 cars displayed in 1951, was present at Goodwood. Based on the 911 GT3 Touring, the Earls Court 51 Edition features a special Earlscourtgreenmetallic paint color and a leather and corduroy interior inspired by the original cars. Only 51 examples of the car will be available, and it sits alongside a recommissioned 356. The ex-Betty Haig car, its details link it visually to the Earls Court 51 Edition.
Other exclusive cars shown by Porsche at the Festival of Speed this year include the trio of Toy Story 5-inspired one-off 911s, created in collaboration between Porsche Sonderwunsch and Disney Pixar, and the Taycan Turbo S Soho House One, created in collaboration with the Soho House private members’ club.
