Even almost thirteen years after its launch, the Porsche 918 Spyder continues to hold immense significance among collectors and enthusiasts in the automotive world, serving as a true pioneer in hybrid hypercar mayhem alongside the coveted McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari. And while the project took over three years to develop, with clients already on board prior to any scheduled production, Porsche dreamed up a special 911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder” to appease owners during the long wait.
Rarely surfacing to market, as many are tucked away alongside their hypercar counterparts, the team at Fort Lauderdale Collection South is proud to showcase this 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet “Edition 918 Spyder” as part of its inventory of exotics for sale on duPont REGISTRY. Available as part of the 997 generation, in coupe or open-top form, this special edition Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet is finished in a historic Carrera White shade with a black canvas top. The black-and-white theme continues with gloss carbon-finished side mirrors, air intakes, and forged sport wheels. In tune with the 918 Spyder and Porsche’s use of Acid Green touches, the side mirrors. Turbo S badging, “Edition 918 Spyder” door decals, and Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes are also styled in the same vibrant shade of green as a subtle nod, and a more if you know, you know look.
The interior ties everything together in a minimal yet noticeable fashion, with a full black leather interior highlighted with added touches of exposed carbon fiber. The use of Acid Green continues in the form of piping and contrast stitching on the comfort seats, sports steering wheel, dashboard, and door trim. Porsche even incorporated the same shade of green into the gauge cluster and sports chrono package to complete the look. To the naked eye, you may not even know that it's one of the rarest versions of the Porsche 911 Turbo S, and that’s exactly the point.
The 997 Porsche 911 Turbo S packs a 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six that sends 530 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. It’s paired exclusively with Porsche’s lightning-quick Porsche PDK transmission, which, even by today’s standards, still goes through gears with zero hesitation. Launch control was standard here, and its 0–60 mph time is around 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 196 mph. Packaged in an ultra-rare configuration that rarely comes up for sale, this 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet “Edition 918 Spyder” is now available at Fort Lauderdale Collection South by clicking the link below.
