A new Sonderwunsch Porsche 911 pays homage to the beauty of Taiwan.
The island of Taiwan is a unique and beautiful place, combining the sprawling urban oasis of Taipei with mountains, rocky landscapes, and stunning coastlines. Despite being a small island, Taiwan boasts an incredible diversity of natural beauty, and that was paid homage to with Porsche’s latest Sonderwunsch project, the Porsche 911 Carrera T “Formosa.” Named after the moniker that Portuguese sailors gave Taiwan in the 16th century, “Formosa” means “beautiful island,” and the 911 Carrera T “Formosa” highlights Taiwan’s beauty through its gorgeous bespoke design.
A step even further above programs like Porsche Paint to Sample, Sonderwunsch, which translates to “special requests,” is an arm of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, derived from the painstakingly crafted bespoke Porsches created in the early days of the manufacturer’s history. Through Sonderwunsch, customers can not only request custom colors but also include artisan-crafted details that turn Porsche’s already enticing luxury performance cars into one-of-one masterpieces worthy of the most exclusive automotive collections.
This one, the 911 Carrera T “Formosa,” was inspired specifically by Taiwan’s mountains, coastlines, and rock formations, three of the most recognizable contributors to the island’s beauty. A Paint to Sample Ipanema Blue Metallic exterior combines with details in Suzuka Grey Metallic to evoke the meeting of ocean and stone on Taiwan’s coast.
Meanwhile, the interior of the new 911 Carrera T “Formosa” uses upholstery in two-tone Truffle Brown and Black leather with Night Green stitching to create a scene reminiscent of the lush mountain greenery in Taiwan, along with Paldao wood trim. A new “Formosa” checker pattern also combines Night Green, Black, and Cream White for a highly bespoke detail.
Bespoke details throughout include custom lettering in the luggage compartment, commemorative sill plates, and more touches that highlight the luxury and artistry of the new 911 “Formosa.” With a stunning bespoke design and one of the world’s most beautiful islands as inspiration, the new Porsche 911 Carrera T “Formosa” is yet another example of Sonderwunsch’s luxurious bespoke excellence.
