Production has officially started for the new Cayenne Electric, Porsche has announced, and taking place in Bratislava, Slovakia, the Cayenne Electric is being built on a line that is shared by combustion-powered and hybrid vehicles. This flexible production means that Porsche is quickly able to adapt to changes in demand.
In addition, Porsche is placing great focus on battery expertise, using modules made in-house at the Porsche Smart Battery Shop in Horná Streda, which is near the Bratislava plant. An impressive driving range of well over 350 miles, 800-volt fast charging technology, and world-first double sided cooling are just some of the incredible features seen in the battery of the new Cayenne Electric.
While the Bratislava plant is a multi-brand facility for the Volkswagen Group, the plant has been thoroughly expanded for the production of the new Cayenne Electric. In addition, a group of employees from Dr. Ing. H.c. F. Porsche AG is permanently present at the Bratislava plant in order to tackle challenges in the production directly and efficiently within the Porsche organization, ensuring as smooth a launch for new vehicle production as possible.
