Bespoke Porsche Experience Center Toronto 911 GT3 RS Goes...

A unique example of a purist performance hero goes up for auction. Porsche’s GT lineup is one of the most venerated families of performance cars in the automotive world. Known for their exclusivity and their reputable ability to dominate tracks across the globe, Porsche’s GT cars represent the ultimate expression of the manufacturer’s track-focused performance engineering chops. Currently at the top of Porsche’s GT food chain is the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which in the 992 generation goes above the standard GT3 with its RS, or “Race Sport,” tweaks. Incredibly advanced active aerodynamics, a massive 518 horsepower from its naturally aspirated engine, and lightweight construction make the latest generation of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS one of the greatest track-focused cars to emerge from the manufacturer yet. Porsche used a bespoke version of the 911 GT3 RS, created in collaboration between Sonderwunsch and Porsche Cars Canada to celebrate the opening of the Porsche Experience Center in Toronto, complete with the Weissach Package and a special livery with the colors and motifs of Canada’s flag to showcase the historic brand’s milestone moment in the country. The interior also features Canadian-themed colors, with seat inserts in a red and white rendition of Porsche’s iconic “Pepita” houndstooth fabric pattern. First debuted at the 2024 Canadian International Auto Show, the car had its own bespoke Chronograph 911 GT3 RS timepiece and a special 1:18 scale model that matches. In partnership with RM Sotheby’s the legendary auction house, the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto 911 GT3 RS is being auctioned for charity, presenting an opportunity to own the unique bespoke creation, as well as the matching watch and scale model. Bids for the car will be accepted until 3 pm ET on July 1, 2025, when the new owner of Porsche’s commemorative track-focused performance machine will be named. Six Cars, One Truck - The Delivery Mileage Porsche Collec...

The ultimate 991 collection at no reserve. As the collector car market continues to soar with exclusive examples and renowned collections being offered by some of the top auction houses, the automotive world has witnessed some truly incredible events that will cement themselves in history. For RM Sotheby's, auction events like its $31M 'The Junkyard: The Rudy Klein Collection' and $30M 'The White Collection' spark interest around the globe and welcome some of the most affluent collectors. Today, RM Sotheby's is pleased to announce 'Six Cars, One Truck' as its next monumental auction event, featuring a lineup of six 991-generation GT-series Porsche 911s and a 2019 Man TGX 18.640 transport truck with Rolfo Auriga trailer to be sold as one lot. This impressive Porsche 991 GT-series collection is what every Porsche enthusiast dreams of. Put together by one dedicated owner with a clear vision, the lineup features some of the most desirable GT models from the 991 generation, all practically untouched with delivery kilometers. For example, the 2016 Porsche 911 R has just 45 km on the clock and comes loaded with desirable options from the factory. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 in Indian Red brings serious track-focused features with its Clubsport package, while a sleek black 911 GT3 Touring offers a more subtle yet equally thrilling option with less than 20 km driven. For those who love their Porsches raw and race-ready, untouched 911 GT3 Cup and Cup R models are as fresh as they come, still sporting their original protective film. Next is a head-turning Racing Yellow 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS' Weissach,' optioned with tons of lightweight carbon fiber upgrades. To complete the package, the owner added a custom MAN TGX 18.640 truck and Rolfo Auriga trailer, both barely broken in with just 500 km on the odometer. Rare Porsche 911 S/T Raises $1M For Red Cross Relief At R...

The 911 S/T with a charitable story. Porsche's philanthropic approach to supporting some of the world's most significant causes is almost as impressive as the sports cars it engineers for the road. Porsche uses itself as a platform for awareness and its most exclusive cars as ways to generate proceeds. Recently announced in partnership with RM Sotheby's, Porsche Cars North America featured a Porsche 911 S/T as part of a special auction event to support American Red Cross disaster relief efforts, including those for the California wildfires. The rare Porsche 911 S/T found a new home, and in the process, it has made a significant impact. Finished in Shore Blue Metallic and optioned with the Heritage Design Package, chassis #1,919 of 1,963 was auctioned by RM Sotheby's for an impressive $1 million. With all proceeds directed to the American Red Cross, the funds will aid those affected by the devastating wildfires in California and recent flooding in the South. The anonymous buyer, a known Porsche collector who previously purchased the one-off 911 Sally Special, has once again stepped up to add another incredible example to the fleet. The 911 S/T auction was especially significant as it was the only remaining example in the U.S. without a designated owner. Porsche Cars North America, RM Sotheby's, and even actor Orlando Bloom played a role in assuring the sale's success, with the auction house waiving its fees to maximize the donation. In addition to the rare 911 S/T, the buyer also received an exclusive 911 S/T Porsche Design Chronograph and a signed owner's manual pouch, making this a truly one-of-a-kind package. Thanks to Porsche and RM Sotheby's, the sale of this legendary 911 will leave a lasting legacy, proving that automotive passion can drive real-world impact. Porsche & RM Sotheby's To Auction 911 S/T For American Re...

This rare Porsche is getting auctioned for a worthy cause. The Porsche 911 is one of the world’s favorite supercars, and has become one of the most ubiquitous automotive creations in the world since its introduction in 1963. In 2023, Porsche celebrated the 911’s 60th anniversary, along with its 75th anniversary as a manufacturer, and to celebrate, it launched an incredibly special version of the 911: the rare 911 S/T. Built to be the ultimate driver’s purist 911, it featured the powertrain and racing-focused weight savings of the 911 GT3 RS, along with a manual transmission, and the elegant, old-school styling choices and materials seen on 911 models from the past. One of the 1,963 examples made of the Porsche 911 S/T (matching the year the 911 was introduced) will be auctioned by Porsche and RM Sotheby’s, with the proceeds going towards the American Red Cross in an effort to bolster the important work that the Red Cross does, especially in the light of the recent wildfires that have affected Southern California and the city of Los Angeles. The vehicle is number 1,919 of 1,963, and it’s the only 911 S/T to be sold from PCNA’s internal vehicle pool to date. More importantly, it’s the only 911 S/T in the United States that hasn’t yet been assigned to a customer. That will change when it is auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s on the renowned auction house’s Online Only auction platform, with support drummed up for the auction by RM Sotheby’s, Porsche, and actor Orlando Bloom, an ambassador of Porsche Design who helped raise awareness for the sale. In addition to the car, the winning bidder will also receive a unique timepiece from Porsche Design, a Chronograph 1 - 911 S/T made in Switzerland, and only made available to customers of the Porsche 911 S/T to match the car, with an engraved chassis number to prove it. Also coming with the car is a owner’s manual pouch signed by Andreas Preuninger, Director of Porsche’s GT model line. An incredibly special car and an incredibly important cause are coming together in this rare charity auction opportunity. Bidding opens on Tuesday, 18 February 2025, click the button below for more information. View Lot Image Source: Porsche

Tom Cruise-Driven Porsche 928 From Risky Business ...

Up for auction is a transaxle Porsche with silver-screen fame. Monterey Car Week is one of the most anticipated events on the annual automotive calendar, and for good reason. Some of the most rare, powerful, expensive, and desirable cars in the world are displayed, celebrated, and also auctioned. One of those earned its panache with its appearance in a movie, specifically Risky Business, which starred Tom Cruise. The car is a 1979 Porsche 928, one of the iconic front-engined Transaxle Porsches from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Powered by a V8 engine, the 928 was a veritable supercar in its time, and in the movie, it’s apparently the car in which Cruise delivers the line “Porsche, there is no substitute.” In addition, it’s reported that because the 928 was equipped with a manual transmission, and Tom Cruise didn’t know how to drive with a manual transmission before, this very Porsche 928 for auction was the car in which Tom Cruise learned to operate a manual transmission. After its time on screen, the 928 lived life as a used car, until Lewis Johnsen of Denver, Colorado, discovered it. A fan of the car and the film, he found the car to restore it. Now, Bonhams has listed it for auction to be sold at The Quail Auction during the highly anticipated Monterey Car Week among some of the world’s most desirable automotive creations. With an appearance in an iconic film, this Porsche 928 is a sports car icon with an interesting history. View All Porsche 928s For Sale Image Source: Bonhams

Porsche Carrera GT Being Auctioned at Mecum’s Indy 2024 E...

This year’s Mecum Auction (May 10-18) in Indianapolis includes a 2004 Porsche Carrera GT in the sports and luxury cars session at the Indiana Convention Center called Indy 2024. For the car enthusiast and collector, Porsche’s extraordinarily engineered racecar represents the pinnacle of automotive design. This Carrera GT stands out as a particularly special example of a very special car. Of the 1,270 produced between 2003 and 2006, this is one of only 41 completed in Basalt Black for the North American market – one of the single most desirable color combinations for those in the know. With fewer than 8,000 miles since new, it’s also a remarkable testament to the care and attention that it has received throughout its life. Under the bonnet is a 5.7-liter V-10 engine, putting out 605 horsepower, with the Euro-correct font. And it has a six-speed manual gearbox, augmented with a Porsche ceramic composite clutch. All in all, it comes together to create a raw – yet highly refined – driving experience where the feeling between you and the road is about as good as it gets these days. Its Basalt Black exterior shines, and removable carbon fiber roof panels can be stowed to create an open-air experience, intensifying the exhilaration of driving. The interior awash in dark grey leather opens in the heels of occupants to a world of precision and performance interpretation of Porsche’s legendary race heritage: the Porsche 917-style birch/ash wood shift lever knob and XT bucket seats are also rendered in materials and details faithful to the days of the race-proven and proven-ace 917. As an inlay for the cup holders, the tube-formed galvanized magnesium center console lends a taste of racing sophistication to the otherwise performance-only gestures of the interior. Functional meets stylistic form in the Carrera GT’s reinforced cockpit safety like one would find in racing cars. Exposure of the carbon fiber and aluminum in the monocoque and subframe makes for a safe ride and also lightens the car, boosting its responsive feel on the road. Inside, the GT comes equipped with modern comforts such as Porsche Online Pro AM/FM/CD stereo, air conditioning, and xenon headlamps; it has nothing to prove in the age of the Prius. The focus on aerodynamics is as evident as the 8,000 individual rivets: there’s an underfloor ground effect and a rear diffuser optimized for high-speed airflow, which combined with the electronically activated rear wing and pushrod-actuated inboard suspension make a car fly around a track almost as well as it can be driven on a road. This car was and still is a sports car icon. It comes with a complete file and dealer binder from a German car dealer, German language specification page, MOT test certificates, insurance documents, owner’s manual, and service history. The documents validate its authenticity and also make it more collectible. While the nitty gritty of this Porsche Carrera GT auction at Mecum’s Indy 2024 locks in at No Reserve, its appeal to collectors and Porsche enthusiasts goes beyond just owning one of the rarest cars ever produced. The public’s desire to own this Porsche is, in fact, more about being part of history. As with any well-considered dealership, you can opt to purchase a beautifully engineered and crafted automotive masterpiece to have for a while without a thorough-going sense of investment. On the other hand, maybe this Carrera GT is for buyers who see investment as more than just a sale – the thought of driving a Porsche beauty that will likely remain in top condition for decades brings good dreams. Don’t miss making the pinnacle of Porsche’s hands-on high-tech team part of your life as well. View Listing For More Info

Porsche Design x Sotheby's Auction Off A 911 S 2.4 Targa ...

Making an appearance at Sotheby's Luxury Week in New York, these two Porsche legends come together as the perfect pairing. At the hands of Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, Porsche transformed itself from a producer of performance cars to a luxury lifestyle brand that embodies the same traditional values. From luxury watches to premium apparel, the DNA of the German auto manufacturer bleeds throughout its one-of-a-kind designs. As part of its 50th Anniversary in 2022, Porsche Design is pleased to be partnering with Sotheby’s Auction to showcase two designs during its Luxury Week in New York. The two auction offerings come courtesy of F.A. Porsche, taking shape as a Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa from 1972 and Porsche Design Chronograph 1. 1972 Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa The 1972 Porsche 911 s 2.4 Targa presents an immaculate restoration done by the experts at Porsche Classic. RM Sotheby's Auctions The Porsche 911 Sally Special For A...

The sale reunited members of the original Cars team who created both the car in the Disney and Pixar film and the life-size Sally Carrera. As we conclude Monterey Car Week 2022 and all of its happenings, the auction stage seemed to be the highlight of the week for luxury auction houses like RM Sotheby’s. Drawing attention as one of the main attractions was The Porsche 911 Sally Special, a commemorative one-of-one build in honor of the 20th anniversary of the motion picture Cars. The Disney and Pixar series began in 2022 with the first appearance of Sally Carrera, originally based on the 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera. Today, the life-size Sally Carrera replica takes shape as a 992 generation Porsche 911 Carrera with subtle hints that direct its design to the automotive-inspired film. MUST-READ: Jerry Seinfeld’s One-Off Factory Built Porsche 718 Spyder Matches His Gulf Racing 1970 Porsche 908/03 Spyder Along with the one-off Porsche 911 example, the auction listing came with a custom Porsche Design Chronograph made specifically to match the configuration of the Sally Carrera spec. An array of smaller items also accompanied the car and watch, including a second set of wheels presented in a bespoke rack, a fitted "Sally Special" car cover, and a book charting the creation of the car from beginning to end. The book itself holds the original sketches from both Porsche and Pixar. The exciting RM Sotheby’s auction for the Porsche 911 Sally Special ended on Saturday evening with the winning bid of $3.6 million (auction hammer price) coming from a telephone bidder. The price was a record for a new Porsche sold at auction, according to the auction house. The entire proceeds of the sale go on to benefit Girls Inc. and USA for UNHCR, helping to inspire all girls and to provide urgent help to nearly 6.2 million refugees.
