Manthey Kit Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Sets Nürburgring Record

By Tyler Rampersaud –  May 07, 2026

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Breaks Nürburgring EV Record

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT was unveiled with over 1,000 horsepower as the most powerful and performance-oriented version of the Taycan, Porsche’s first all-electric production model. The Taycan Turbo GT not only boasts significant power but also lightweight construction and highly advanced aerodynamics to achieve near-unparalleled performance on the circuit. The Weissach Package dials up the track-focused performance further for the Taycan Turbo GT, but for those who want an even more track-capable vehicle, Manthey Performance will soon offer an optional kit for the car. That Manthey Performance Kit for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has already proved itself on one of the world’s most demanding circuits: the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Equipped with the Manthey Kit, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT managed to set a new lap record in the Electric Executive Cars category. The kit modifies the car’s wheels and tires, along with revising the aerodynamics and optimizing the software, all with track performance in mind. Porsche development driver Lars Kern was behind the wheel for the record lap, where the Taycan Turbo GT managed to complete the 12.94-mile course, known for its challenging corners and dramatic elevation changes and nicknamed “The Green Hell,” in only 6:55.533 minutes. That lap time eclipsed the previous electric luxury car lap record at the Nordschleife by over nine seconds, and beat the 2023 record that Lars Kern set with the Weissach Package-equipped Taycan Turbo GT by twelve seconds. <- Gallery -> Using the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package as its basis, the Manthey Performance kit revises the power delivery, aerodynamics, and suspension of the vehicle. The driving dynamics systems are adjusted for the lightweight wheels that come with the package, along with Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo RS tires. Developed in collaboration between the Porsche Development Center in Weissach and Manthey in Meuspath, the results are impressive. Downforce at 124 mph increases with the kit from 209 to 683 pounds, top speed increases from 189 to 192 mph, at which point the Manthey kit produces 1,631 pounds of downforce, and the powertrain adjustments also increase the power output in the standard driving mode and in Attack mode. Thanks to the motorsport-inspired solutions used in the Manthey Performance Kit for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, the electric vehicle is setting new standards for performance, not only with immense power, but also with impressive dynamics that can break records on a track like the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The Best Porsche 911 R Specs For Sale Today

The Best Porsche 911 R Specs For Sale Today

When Porsche unveiled the 911 R in 2016, it took a purist approach that instantly captivated collectors and enthusiasts. Borrowing the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six from the GT3 RS, the 911 R delivered 500 horsepower and 338 lb-ft of torque, but it came with something the RS didn't: a six-speed manual transmission. It also shed excess weight and embraced a more understated design, leaving off the aggressive wings and aero bits typically found on Porsche's track-derived GT cars. It was a driver's car through and through, from its launch to its rise as a collector-grade gem. Performance figures told part of Porsche's story: 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. Carbon-ceramic brakes, with 16.1-inch rotors up front and 15.4-inch in the rear, helped keep things under control in the corners. But what really made the 911 R special wasn't just the numbers; it was the philosophy. With only 991 examples produced, Porsche made it exclusive by design, offering the first allocations to 918 Spyder owners. Its $185,950 MSRP felt like a bargain once they hit the used market, with many examples quickly commanding prices well north of $500,000. Today, the 911 R remains a modern classic—a rare blend of analog engagement and modern engineering. It marked a turning point when Porsche acknowledged what enthusiasts truly wanted: performance, purity, and a manual gearbox. If you're looking to add one of the most celebrated modern Porsches to your garage, check out some of the best Porsche 911 R examples currently for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the links below. FAQs Was the Porsche 911 R available in unique colors or options? Yes, the 911 R offered some exclusive color combinations, including heritage-inspired stripes and custom interiors through Porsche's Paint-to-Sample and Exclusive Manufaktur programs. Is the 911 R comfortable for daily driving or long-distance trips? Surprisingly, yes. While it's performance-focused, the 911 R features a more subtle ride setup than the GT3 RS, along with reduced cabin noise and optional leather-trimmed interiors, making it suitable for spirited daily use or weekend road trips. Did the Porsche 911 R come with rear seats? No, Porsche removed the rear seats as part of the weight-saving measures. However, some owners later opted to retrofit lightweight seats if desired. How does the 911 R compare to modern analog-style Porsches like the 911 S/T? The 911 R set the blueprint for future analog driver's cars like the S/T. While the S/T benefits from newer tech and chassis tuning, many purists still consider the 911 R to be the more raw and connected experience. 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Listing   Buy Searching for a Porsche 911 R to buy? duPont REGISTRY has hundreds of Porsche 911 Rs for sale right now, including some of the rarest ever created. How The Porsche Macan Electric Crossed England’s Morecambe Bay

By Tyler Rampersaud –  May 05, 2026

The Porsche Macan Electric Crossed The Morecambe Bay

Located in the northwest of England, Morecambe Bay is known for its fast tides and quicksand. However, at low tide, crossing the bay by land is possible. However, it’s tricky to do, and requires local guidance. That guidance comes from the King’s Guide to the Sands, a role that has been held since 1548 by 26 different people in an unbroken lineage. The current man on the job is Michael Wilson, who guides travelers across the bay, helping avoid quicksand and protect wildlife, all while keeping an eye on the fast-changing tides. Especially in earlier times, crossing the bay at low tide could save as much as three days during a journey, and today, the “Monk’s Road,” as the public right of way across the bay is called, is defined by the route the Guide leads. All of that made Morecambe Bay the perfect challenge for the Porsche Macan Electric. Challenging almost 10 miles of exposed seabed, the Macan’s all-wheel drive system expertly navigated the wet and somewhat unpredictable terrain, while the low center of gravity of the vehicle helped it remain stable throughout the journey. Equipped with the optional off-road design package, the increased ground clearance also contributed to confidence in the journey. <- Gallery -> During the drive, the shoreline disappears, and the seabed completely surrounds the view. Reaching dry land at the other side of Morecambe Bay, the new Porsche Macan Electric proves its ability to take on centuries-old traverses with cutting-edge technology, electric power, and timeless confidence. Porsche PLÁTICA 2026 Celebrates The Iconic 911 R

Porsche PLÁTICA 2026 Celebrates The Iconic 911 R

The Porsche community has always been defined by a shared respect for the past, present, and future, bringing together passionate owners and purists who celebrate the brand in the best possible way: by driving. And while there’s no shortage of cars & coffee meets and rallies that do exactly that, something different is happening in the mountains of Knoxville, TN, where the team at Harper Porsche has created Porsche PLÁTICA as a cultural experience, where Porsche meets the beauty of art and nature. The annual event, which translates to “Conversation” from Spanish, really made waves throughout the automotive world last year when it organized one of the largest gatherings of Porsche Carrera GTs to celebrate the iconic V10 supercar’s 20th anniversary.  GALLERY-EMBED This past weekend, Porsche PLÁTICA outdid itself yet again, welcoming cars and visitors to a historic marble quarry in the heart of West Knoxville, this year, showcasing the largest lineup of 991-generation Porsche 911 R examples for its 10-year anniversary. Even though the spotlight was on the 911 R, two generations separated by five decades, the entire weekend was driven by all things Porsche, from classic to modern, factory to aftermarket. Alongside a lineup of 30+ 2016 911 R examples, many sourced from names like Graham Rahal Performance and Merit Partners, was a full spectrum of 911s and GT models in nearly every configuration and color imaginable. From paint-to-sample 997 GT3 RS builds courtesy of Ryan Friedman Motorcars to a genuine Porsche 917 and everything in between, calling Porsche PLÁTICA a Porsche mecca almost feels like an understatement. GALLERY-EMBED Driving was the common thread tying all of these cars—and their owners—together, so the weekend naturally included time behind the wheel. Group drives through the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway delivered some of the most scenic and spirited stretches of road in the country, if not the world. The following day, Flatrock Motor Club opened its 3.5-mile circuit to the group, giving nearly every generation and variant of the 911 a chance to stretch its legs, alongside standout appearances from a Porsche 962 and Porsche 962C. Almost too overwhelming to put into words, Porsche PLÁTICA continues to grow into something truly special. With Porsche’s support behind it, the event has quickly established itself as a standout on the calendar, and we can’t wait to see what it evolves into next year. Manthey Racing Sets a New Benchmark With Back-to-Back Runs at the Nürburgring Nordschleife

By Khris Bharath –  May 01, 2026

Manthey Racing Sets a New Benchmark With Back-to-Back Runs at the Nürburgring Nordschleife

When I met with Michael Grassl, Sales Director of Manthey Racing, at the Icons of Porsche Dubai last November, he teased an “exciting 2026”. The Manthey kit for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992.1), complete with its distinctive aero fin, had been unveiled over a year earlier in 2024, and I asked when the hot lap would follow. Five months on, that answer has arrived in the form of two Nürburgring laps set on the same day in mid- April. The headline belongs to the aforementioned 992.1 GT3 RS fitted with the Manthey Kit. Driven by long-serving Porsche works driver Jörg Bergmeister, the car recorded a 6:45.389 lap of the 20.832-kilometer (~13-mile) Nordschleife, improving on the already formidable standard car by roughly four seconds (6:49.328).  Running alongside that effort on the same day was the latest iteration of the Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2) with the new Manthey performance kit. With Ayhancan Güven behind the wheel, the car posted a 6:50.863 lap, nearly five seconds quicker than the previous-generation 992.1 GT3 ( 6:55.200) equipped with Manthey hardware. The gains reflect a familiar Manthey formula, more downforce, sharper aero surfaces, and incremental refinements to suspension and braking. Grassl had outlined those updates in detail during our conversation. A larger front splitter, underbody fins, turning vanes, a closed floor, a revised diffuser, and a new rear wing define the package, which is supported by lightweight carbon components and optional track-focused upgrades. Inside, subtle changes signal the shift in identity, including Manthey branding replacing the GT3 badge behind the gear lever. Beyond lap times, the business case remains just as compelling. Manthey kits continue to command a premium in the secondary market, driven by proximity to record-setting cars and constrained supply. These results continue to reinforce Manthey’s position as Porsche’s most track-focused development partner. View All Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS For Sale Images: Manthey Racing, Khris Bharath

Sonderwunsch Porsches Come To Lake Como For Fuori Concorso

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 30, 2026

Porsche Brings Sonderwunsch Cars To Fuori Concorso

2022 saw the first dedicated display of one-offs and limited-series Porsches at FuoriConcorso, set against the glittering backdrop of Italy’s Lake Como. There, the 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic was the star of the show, a limited-production 911 that paid homage to the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911 that remains one of the most desirable collector-grade Porsches today, with several Exclusive Manufaktur details and a manual transmission. The year after, Porsche brought rarely seen prototypes and concept cars to an open-air exhibition at Fuori Concorso, including the legendary Porsche 911 GT1 that Mark Webber got behind the wheel of. 2024 saw a Porsche Fuori Concorso display that included a Chromaflair-painted Porsche 911 Turbo S customized by Sonderwunsch, set amongst a theme of British Racing Green at the event. At this year’s Fuori Concorso, Porsche plans to continue highlighting Sonderwunsch bespoke design and craftsmanship at the event. A selected number of cars will be displayed at the Lake Como gathering, highlighting the best of both Sonderwunsch and Exclusive Manufaktur, and this year’s event theme, ‘KraftMeister,’ will inform the selection of Factory Commission projects that will be present. The new Porsche 911 GT3 S/C, a new open-top, manual rendition of the Porsche 911 GT3, will be a major highlight of Porsche’s presence at the 2026 Fuori Concorso event. Showcasing how Porsche can bring unique client visions to life, Fuori Concorso will be a venue for craftsmanship, luxury, design, and performance excellence from Porsche. Porsche's 963 Brings Back the Apple Livery at Laguna Seca

By Jordan Aquistapace –  April 30, 2026

Porsche's 963 Brings Back the Apple Livery at Laguna Seca

Porsche is tapping into one of its most surprising chapters this weekend, bringing a revived Apple-inspired racing livery to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Both factory Porsche 963 race cars will sport the one-off look, swapping the stock modern Porsche livery for something pulled straight from an almost-forgotten chapter of racing history. 2026 marks 75 years of Porsche Motorsport and 50 years since Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. Instead of doing something polished or predictable, Porsche has gone back to celebrate a car most people don’t even realize existed. GALLERY-EMBED That connection comes from the Porsche 935 K3 owned by Dick Barbour Racing in 1980, including its run at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. That car famously sported Apple Computer’s rainbow-striped livery, which at the time was pretty unusual for motorsport and, honestly, still a little today. It wasn’t a long-term sponsorship or anything like that, but it stuck because it just looked so different from everything else on the race track. Seeing that vision carried forward onto a modern prototype like the 963 is where things get seriously nostalgic for Porsche purists and motorsport fanatics. It’s two very different eras of racing intersecting in a way that actually makes sense visually. GALLERY-EMBED And Laguna Seca is an appropriate place for it all to happen. The world-renowned track has deep ties to Porsche’s North American racing story, and it’s close enough to Apple’s Cupertino home base. It’s also hosted several Porsche Rennsport Reunion events, so there’s already a history of the brand treating it as a cultural stage. Whether this Apple throwback is just a one-off or a hint at something to stay, it works because it pulls a real moment from the past and puts it back on track. Is Porsche Reviving Apple’s Forgotten Racing Past?

By Jordan Aquistapace –  April 29, 2026

Is Porsche Reviving Apple’s Forgotten Racing Past?

Porsche snuck something unusual into its Instagram feed just now, a short reel centered on a race helmet designed by @ornamentalconifer, the Art Director at Race Service, finished in a retro, rainbow-striped Apple livery. No caption explaining the why, just a date, May 3rd, and a place: WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The teaser feels confusing, and it has Porsche purists chatting . Pairing Porsche with Apple in a racing context isn’t something you see often, and the choice to preview it through a helmet rather than a car only adds to the mysteriousness. Because there is a reference here, and it’s deep. Apple’s history in motorsport is almost nonexistent, aside from a single, often-overlooked chapter in 1979 involving a Porsche 935 K3 owned by Bob Garretson. For a brief time, the car showed off an Apple Computer livery, a one-off at the time and even more so given how tightly the company has historically controlled its image. The car later became better known in its Hawaiian Tropic disguise, but that earlier livery has lingered as a kind of unicorn that enthusiasts never quite let go of. It also shares a connection to Paul Newman, who drove the 935 during that era, further tying its celebrity status to late-1970s endurance racing culture. Today, the same chassis sits in the collection of American comedian and car collector Adam Carolla, who owns the largest lineup of Paul Newman-raced cars. With that bit of history, the helmet starts to hint at something big to come. Porsche has a habit of revisiting its archive in subtle ways, and this looks like one of them. Whether this leads to a one-off livery or a historical tribute isn’t clear, but the setting suggests it will be driven. Laguna Seca has long been part of Porsche’s American racing history, and using it as the backdrop for whatever comes next adds a layer of context. For now, it’s just a date, a place, and a visual clue, but it’s enough to suggest that May 3rd won’t be a routine reveal. New Porsche 911 GT3 S/C Makes Air|Water Debut

By Tyler Rampersaud –  April 27, 2026

Porsche Debuts 911 GT3 S/C At Air|Water

Air|Water celebrated yet another massively successful event at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California, showcasing the breadth of Porsche history as a companion to the Luftgekühlt event that highlights air-cooled Porsches. Taking place this past weekend, the event was not only a bastion of Porsche culture and automotive enthusiasm with over 800 cars on display, but it also featured over 50 private vendors, and the public debut of a new model. That debut was of the new Porsche 911 GT3 S/C, which was recently revealed as a new open-top version of the purist-oriented 911 GT3 with a manual transmission. The creation of the new 911 GT3 S/C highlights Porsche’s commitment to making driver’s cars with a traditional approach to performance. Alongside the 911 GT3 S/C, Porsche masterpieces from throughout the manufacturer’s history also demonstrated the brand’s contributions to the lexicon of automotive excellence. That included a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Porsche’s presence in motorsport. The display consisted of cars like the 962, the “Rexy” 911 GT3 R from AO Racing, and more. In addition, Sally Carrera, the iconic 996 Porsche 911 character from the Cars films, was displayed alongside the 2022 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Sally Special, a one-off inspired by the character. With several displays of Porsche legacy and heritage throughout the event, and the debut of the latest Porsche purist masterpiece, the latest Air|Water festival in Costa Mesa was yet another success. <- Gallery -> View All Porsche 911 GT3 For Sale Image Source: Porsche
