Porsche Hires Big to Make the Taycan Happen

Coming soon from Germany is the Porsche Taycan, an all-new electric model that's set to make waves in the luxury automotive market. To make the car happen, Porsche has had to make some big moves. For instance, the introduction of the new model has created 1,200 in Zuffenhausen at the main plant. “The Taycan is one of biggest creators of jobs in the history of Porsche,” emphasizes Andreas Haffner, Member of the Executive Board responsible for HR and Social Affairs. Porsche does say, however, that all of these new employees will not be producing the Taycan. they note that their goal is to "create a team with a healthy mix of experienced sports car manufacturers and new staff." On top of the added workforce, the Porsche has stated that by 2022 they will invest over €6 billion in e-mobility. It looks like Porsche is going full steam ahead with electric cars and the Taycan is just the start.Classic Porsche 930's For Sale Related Video: View All Porsches For Sale Source: Porsche AG

2020 Porsche Taycan: 600 Horsepower Confirmed

Porsche has been in development of the Mission E concept for years, and recently we learned its name: Taycan. In a press release this morning, the finer details of this super SUV were made known. The most shocking news is that Porsche has raised the bar by building the Taycan around an 800-volt battery and drive system. It can also be charged at Audi dealers who are building their 400-volt network. Working with Ford, BMW, and Mercedes are developing "Ionity" fast charging parks. They will have multiple chargers and a nice place to stretch your legs.New chargers are being installed at every Porsche dealer, and a full charge will offer 310 miles of range. Porsche includes the regular 110V home charger, and the 240v can be easily wired into your home panel. It has two electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles. These proprietary designs are AC synchronous for long life and instant torque.Porsche made the windings square instead of round, allowing for more coils in a smaller case. They also purchased a portion of Rimac, to be a supplier for their electric future. This is the same technology used in their 919 Hybrid and the VW I. D. R Pike's Peak. You will be at 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and 124 mph arrives in less than a dozen ticks. If electric is not quite your thing, our dealers are starting to receive the 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, so get your twin turbos in gear and check out the fastest production 911 ever built!Browse Porsche 911 GT2 RS For Sale Tested for perfection!

How to Pronounce Porsche "Taycan"

The all-electric Mission E has been officially announced as the Porsche Taycan. After reading that sentance,  how did you pronounce "Taycan" as you were reading it? Maybe you pronounced it like "taken" or "ty-con," but no matter how you said it, you probably asked yourself what the correct pronunciation is.Thankfully, Porsche has released a video that lets us know how their upcoming model's name is really pronounced. Those that went with the "ty-con" pronunciation, congratulations because you were correct. In the video, the informative narrator also talks about how every Porsche has one thing in common: a soul. This was brought up because many are talking about how the soul of a car is ripped out when the gasoline engine is missing. For that, Porsche is promising that the soul we've felt in all of their models will be present in the Taycan. Referring to the Taycan, Porsche says in the video description: "...although his heart is powered by a different force - electricity - the soul, once again, is the same."

The New Electric Porsche Has a Name: Taycan

We've become familiar with the Porsche Mission E over the recent months. Now, the Mission E has been given an official name: Taycan. This name is derived from Turkish and can be roughly translated to "lively young horse." If you've even taken a close look at a Porsche emblem/crest, you've noticed the leaping steed that's been there since 1952.“Our new electric sports car is strong and dependable; it’s a vehicle that can consistently cover long distances and that epitomizes freedom,” Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, explains. Horses can travel long distances, are strong and dependable and ones found in the wild are as free as can be. I'd say this is a fitting name.
