Porsche Reveals A New Sonderwunsch Taycan Turbo GT

By Tyler Rampersaud –  July 16, 2026

Porsche Unveils New Sonderwunsch Taycan Turbo GT

The Porsche Taycan is the first all-electric model from the historic luxury performance manufacturer. With sharp style, luxurious appointments, and cutting-edge performance engineering, the Porsche Taycan quickly earned a reputation as one of the most desirable electric luxury sports sedans. However, the Taycan reached a turning point when the Turbo GT variant was announced. With over 1,000 horsepower, the Turbo GT took the crown as the most powerful variant of the Taycan, and the flagship of the model lineup. With track-focused engineering and even an available Weissach Package, the Taycan Turbo GT is a uniquely racing-ready EV and earned its own reputation by collecting low and even record-breaking lap times on iconic circuits across the globe. One customer in Switzerland, who already owns three Porsche Taycans, decided not just to purchase a Taycan Turbo GT, but to commission one through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch bespoke program. Often, Sonderwunsch Porsches have been 911s, including the recent trio of Toy Story-inspired 911s that were sold to support charitable causes. However, this commission shows that Sonderwunsch’s bespoke design, artisan craftsmanship, and elevated luxury can also be lent to Porsche’s all-electric models, like the Taycan Turbo GT. <- Gallery -> A collaboration between Porsche’s Sonderwunsch experts, the client, and Porsche Centre Lugano, the bespoke Taycan Turbo GT features a Paint to Sample exterior in Nordic Gold Metallic, inspired by the sunlight’s reflections on Lake Lugano at sunrise and sunset. That color is contrasted by accents in Turbonite, including the Porsche crests, and high-gloss black. The interior of the car is finished with Pebble Grey leather and black Race-Tex fabric, as well as fabric seat centers in Porsche’s Pepita pattern. The interior also features Crayon contrast stitching, “turbo GT” embroidery, exposed carbon fiber accents, and painted details in Neodyme. With incredible performance and Sonderwunsch bespoke design, this new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is a combination of cutting-edge performance EV innovation and artisan craftsmanship, making it a collector-worthy masterpiece for its owner’s collection. Manthey Kit Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Sets Nürburgring Record

By Tyler Rampersaud –  May 07, 2026

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Breaks Nürburgring EV Record

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT was unveiled with over 1,000 horsepower as the most powerful and performance-oriented version of the Taycan, Porsche’s first all-electric production model. The Taycan Turbo GT not only boasts significant power but also lightweight construction and highly advanced aerodynamics to achieve near-unparalleled performance on the circuit. The Weissach Package dials up the track-focused performance further for the Taycan Turbo GT, but for those who want an even more track-capable vehicle, Manthey Performance will soon offer an optional kit for the car. That Manthey Performance Kit for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has already proved itself on one of the world’s most demanding circuits: the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Equipped with the Manthey Kit, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT managed to set a new lap record in the Electric Executive Cars category. The kit modifies the car’s wheels and tires, along with revising the aerodynamics and optimizing the software, all with track performance in mind. Porsche development driver Lars Kern was behind the wheel for the record lap, where the Taycan Turbo GT managed to complete the 12.94-mile course, known for its challenging corners and dramatic elevation changes and nicknamed “The Green Hell,” in only 6:55.533 minutes. That lap time eclipsed the previous electric luxury car lap record at the Nordschleife by over nine seconds, and beat the 2023 record that Lars Kern set with the Weissach Package-equipped Taycan Turbo GT by twelve seconds. <- Gallery -> Using the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package as its basis, the Manthey Performance kit revises the power delivery, aerodynamics, and suspension of the vehicle. The driving dynamics systems are adjusted for the lightweight wheels that come with the package, along with Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo RS tires. Developed in collaboration between the Porsche Development Center in Weissach and Manthey in Meuspath, the results are impressive. Downforce at 124 mph increases with the kit from 209 to 683 pounds, top speed increases from 189 to 192 mph, at which point the Manthey kit produces 1,631 pounds of downforce, and the powertrain adjustments also increase the power output in the standard driving mode and in Attack mode. Thanks to the motorsport-inspired solutions used in the Manthey Performance Kit for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, the electric vehicle is setting new standards for performance, not only with immense power, but also with impressive dynamics that can break records on a track like the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The World’s First All-Electric Porsche Club Takes A Road Trip

By Tyler Rampersaud –  February 24, 2026

The First All-EV Porsche Club Road Trip

Community is one of the biggest perks of being a car enthusiast, including participation in shows, road trips, and rallies with fellow owners and enthusiasts. With over 75 years of history and a longstanding lineup of celebrated luxury sports cars, Porsche has some of the automotive industry’s most passionate subcultures of enthusiasts and vibrant communities. One of those is Registro Italiano E-motion, the world’s first all-electric Porsche Club. The club recently embarked on its first road trip, meeting at the Franciacorta Porsche Experience Center to begin. There, a total of 73 Porsche Macan Electric and Taycan cars gathered to make the trip from there to Hans-Peter Porsche’s Traumwerk museum, located just outside Salzburg, Austria. Based in Milan, IT specialist and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo owner Andrea Siviero serves as a spokesperson for the club, and is one of 131 participants in the road trip. <- Gallery -> The 73 vehicles were made up of 42 Taycans and 31 Macans, with rear and all-wheel drive variants, and even two Taycan Turbo GT cars present. Some of the cars in the group were Paint to Sample vehicles, and the Taycan Turbo GTs featured were equipped with the Weissach Package. Before the club, a group of Taycan owners gathered online to discuss their EVs, and eventually formed an official club, an idea that wasn’t just approved by the community, but also by Porsche Italia. The weekend drive included scenic roads, social charging breaks, and the joy of driving, futurized by electrification. With dozens of Porsche EVs, and over a hundred enthusiasts coming together to enjoy them, the first road trip of the Registro Italiano E-motion shows that the community aspect of car enthusiasts is very much a part of the electric future of the automotive industry. Porsche Taycan Achieves New Guinness World Record For Ice...

Porsche’s electric icon achieves another world record. The Porsche Taycan has made a significant splash as Porsche’s first all-electric model, not only within Porsche’s lineup of luxury performance vehicles, but throughout the automotive industry. Combining luxurious appointments with formidable performance, high-tech innovation, and Porsche’s renowned performance-oriented engineering ability, the Taycan has demonstrated incredible capabilities for Porsche’s electric vehicle lineup, and for performance-oriented electric vehicles as a whole. Already achieving three Guinness World Records for its unique abilities, the already-iconic Porsche Taycan has earned yet another feather in its cap, earning a fourth world record by drifting an incredible continuous distance on ice. With Jens Richter behind the wheel of a Porsche Taycan GTS, the car was able to maintain a controlled oversteer on ice, drifting 132 laps for a total of 46 minutes. With its distance of 10.87 miles, the Porsche Taycan has earned the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous vehicle drift on ice by an electric vehicle. The previous world record was 9.2 miles, with the new record besting its distance by over two and a half miles. The drift took place with an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records on an ice track at the Porsche Arctic Center in Levi, Finland, with a drift circle that had a 59-meter diameter. Along with the other world records of the greatest altitude change by an electric car, achieved on the Xinjiang-Tibet route, the fastest speed driven by a vehicle in an enclosed building, achieved in New Orleans, and drifting 210 laps for 26.2 miles in 55 minutes at Hockenheimring, Porsche’s latest achievement with the Taycan is just the beginning of an incredible electric vehicle legacy from the legendary manufacturer. How Porsche Made The Taycan Turbo GT Its Most Powerful Mo...

Porsche pushed engineering boundaries for its pinnacle EV. It’s been almost a year since the unveiling of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, which raised the bar for Porsche’s electric performance capabilities as not only the new performance pinnacle of Porsche’s Taycan lineup but also the most powerful production model that Porsche has ever made. As the ultimate iteration of the first Porsche electric vehicle, the Taycan Turbo GT arrived on the scene, breaking records on race tracks around the world thanks to its immense power and immaculate engineering. However, creating a vehicle that is even more powerful and fast than the previous pinnacle Taycan, the Turbo S, is easier said than done. When it comes to combustion engines, increasing power is much more straightforward, as it can be achieved by increasing displacement, letting the engine rev higher, and lowering friction losses. Improving an electric vehicle that is already immensely powerful, like the Taycan Turbo S, on the other hand, is more complex. Porsche had to use creative solutions to up the ante for the Taycan Turbo GT. The engineers started by improving the pulse inverter at the rear axle from a 600-ampere unit to a 900-ampere one, which required a modified body shell to accommodate its height. The two-speed transmission was also improved to better handle the increased torque, and with a longer ratio, a higher top speed was also achieved. To improve aerodynamics, new spoilers were added, and the underbody was modified. Performance was also enhanced with lightweight ceramic brakes, special tires and wheels, and the iconic Weissach Package, which adds extra racing-readiness to many celebrated Porsche models. Derived from Formula E, extra power is achieved through Attack Mode, which transforms the vehicle’s performance for two seconds. With the electric future on the horizon for the automotive industry, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is a perfect example of how to achieve pinnacle battery-powered performance. How The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT's Tires Are Key To Its Pe...

A record-breaking machine depends on truly excellent tires. Tires are an unsung hero of automotive performance. While powertrains and weight savings are often celebrated as the heroes of blisteringly quick track times, acceleration numbers, and soaring top speeds, tires are often a determining factor when it comes to what a car is capable of. The performance abilities of vehicles are either limited or enhanced by the capabilities of their tires, and in the case of Porsche’s new pinnacle performance EV, the Taycan Turbo GT, the tires were paramount to its record-breaking success. Pirelli provided the bespoke P-Zero Trofeo RS tires that wrap the Taycan Turbo GT’s wheels with the Weissach Package, and the tires were meticulously refined in order to optimize their contribution to the Taycan Turbo GT’s incredible performance. Its dual-layer carcass is specifically made to help the tires withstand the immense power and battery weight of the vehicle, and the multi-compound tread is made for the sudden acceleration that the Turbo GT is capable of. The design of the tire itself was also enhanced with fewer grooves on the outer shoulder of the tread to enhance the contact patch at high speeds, and artificial intelligence was used to assist the design process and reduce the time it took for development. Thanks to the radical innovation put into the bespoke Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo RS tires featured in the new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package, the car continues to push the boundaries of electric performance with record-breaking lap times on circuits around the world.
