Rolls-Royce Unveils Three New "Spirit Of Expressionism" B...

Rolls-Royce reveals the first creations to come from its Shanghai Private Office. For over 20 years, Rolls-Royce has called Goodwood its home, and until recently, Goodwood was also Rolls-Royce’s only hub for curating its incredible Rolls-Royce Bespoke creations. However, Rolls-Royce’s new Private Offices around the world have changed that, bringing the ultra-luxe bespoke creation experience offered at Goodwood to destinations across the globe. It started in the famed luxury hotspot Dubai and expanded to Shanghai, where the first Rolls-Royce Bespoke vehicles to be curated at the Private Office Shanghai have finally been revealed. The collection, consisting of three cars, is entitled “Spirit of Expression,” and it debuted ahead of the 2024 Beijing Motor Show, which is where the cars will make their public debut starting April 25. The design of the cars in the collection reflects the natural sights of the favorite global destinations of Rolls-Royce’s Chinese clients, and as such, the wide spectrum of colors and materials use celebrates the beauty of the natural world. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended “Magnetism” is inspired by the Cala Luna Beach of Sicily, with the Cala Luna Sand exterior paint color evoking the look of the moonlit sand, and the Kabira Blue it’s paired with reminding the viewer of the horizon where the sea meets the night sky. Inside, the night sky is replicated with a Starlight Headliner consisting of 1,344 blue and white “stars.” Along with that, the interior is sumptuously upholstered in Blue Grey, Navy Blue, and Arctic White leather with Arctic White contrast stitching and a contrasting open-pore Obsidian Ayous veneer. Meanwhile, the vibrant colors of the Rolls-Royce Spectre “Escapism” are inspired by the tropical scenes of South America. Lantana Red and Tempest Grey are used in a two-tone exterior to reflect a tropical scene, while the interior’s Selby Grey, Purple Silk, and Sunset leather colors add to the theme of rainforest flora and fauna. Additional bespoke touches include an illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy and Obsidian Ayous veneer on the steering wheel with Purple Silk leather. Boracay Island, nestled in the Western Visayas of the Philippines, served as the inspiration for the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended “Expressionism.” The sedan pairs Boracay Blue paintwork with a Lime Green Coachline to evoke the tropics and sunsets of the island. Inside, the Black and Arctic White leather upholstery is set against Lime Green accents, including an embroidered celestial motif consisting of a total 104,268 stitches. The Starlight Headliner features an abstract wave pattern that visualizes silk in the wind, with 1,040 “stars” in Lime Green and White. Making their public debut at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the Rolls-Royce Bespoke “Spirit of Expressionism” collection will be on display at the show from April 25 to May 4. Being the first collection of cars to come out of Rolls-Royce’s Private Office Shanghai, these stunning bespoke creations are here to show the unparalleled degree of luxury and design Rolls-Royce is capable of. Rolls-Royce Restores & Celebrates Its First Goodwood-Era ...

Rolls-Royce began its Goodwood era at the Festival of Speed. As Rolls-Royce showcases the pinnacle of automotive craftsmanship, luxury, and excellence at its home of Goodwood, the historic manufacturer looks back on the beginning of that journey, which took place over 20 years ago in the early 2000s. Before the legendary Phantom was introduced to the Rolls-Royce portfolio in 2003, the very first cars commissioned for Rolls-Royce in Goodwood were the RR-0.01 and RR-0.02 gravity racers, which were made to compete in the 2001 and 2002 Goodwood Festival of Speed Soapbox Challenges to preview Rolls-Royce’s 2003 relaunch. Being gravity racers, the cars showed off classic-inspired Rolls-Royce design and timeless beauty, but no engine. They were one-of-one commissions built by the same skilled artisans that would go on to relaunch Rolls-Royce and transform it into the manufacturer we know today. Fiberglass and carbon fiber were used to create the RR-0.01, which previewed the design of the first-generation Goodwood-era Phantom. Ian Cameron, Rolls-Royce’s Design Director at the time, raced it in 2001, winning against the Bentley in the final corner. The Silver Ghost served as the inspiration for the RR-0.02, and Ian Cameron raced it at the 2002 Goodwood Festival of Speed Soapbox Challenge as well. It not only won the race, but also earned the Merit of Excellence award from the ‘Wazir’ of Goodwood. Crafted from wood, aluminum, and carbon fiber, the car reflects Rolls-Royce’s classic design staples and timeless approach to luxury craftsmanship. Since 2013, both cars have officially retired from racing, and now, Rolls-Royce Apprentices have led a full-body restoration for both cars, including a grille repair for the RR-0.01, and a front-screen veneer replacement for the RR-0.02. With over two decades since their introduction and important role in Rolls-Royce’s relaunch, the next generation of Rolls-Royce artisans are celebrating the legacy of these soapbox racers in a special way. Rolls-Royce Phantom "Year Of The Dragon" Celebrates The L...

Rolls-Royce unveiled a collection of four bespoke builds named the "Year Of The Dragon" commissions to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Comprised of three Phantom Extended Wheelbase models and one Cullinan, this grouping of cars allows the British carmaker to pay tribute to Chinese culture simultaneously while allowing its Bespoke department to flex its artistic muscles. The Lunar New Year began on February 10th, with this year being the year of the dragon. As such, the dragon motif is central to the design of these four cars. In the three Phantoms, for example, the rear picnic tables incorporate an illustration, finished in stainless steel, of the Chinese zodiac calendar with the dragon highlighted in gold. Subtler representations of the dragon exist in the Phoenix Red stitching found throughout on their seats and interiors. The Phantoms utilize white or black leather as the interior's base color, contrasting red leather on the dashboard, armrest, and steering wheel. Even Rolls' famous lambswool floormats feature the bright color. The dragon makes its way onto Rolls-Royce's starlight headliner, which is comprised of 1,344 lights, with 677 highlighting the motif. The Phantom photographed above is the first of the four commissions to head to its owner in Orange County, CA. It features a gloss black exterior with a sparkly Crystal finish along with a Phoenix Red coachline, interrupted only by a dragon motif finished in the same color. According to Jonathan Simms, head of Rolls' Bespoke division, "The Bespoke creations, inspired by the Year of the Dragon in 2024, celebrate the international reach and influence of Chinese culture, which transcends national boundaries. Hence, these magnificent motor cars are destined for clients based across three continents." Although Rolls-Royce hasn't specified where the remaining commissions will go, they won't be sold in the U.S., with at least one conceivably going to the Chinese market. These remaining three cars will wear unique front fascias with different reinterpretations of the dragon motif hand-painted by various artists, each taking at least two weeks to complete.

The cars all feature unique configurations, all inspired by the aesthetics and traditional colors of the Lunar New Year, and specifically the Year of the Dragon. On top of that, the headrests of the seats feature an intricate dragon embroidery, created with 5,449 stitches and taking over 20 hours to complete each one. The iconic marque saw its bespoke commissions reach new heights in both value and production numbers. Each Phantom, Ghost, and Cullinan hand-built at the Home of Rolls-Royce incorporates elements of the company's Bespoke division, showcasing the limitless possibilities of personalization driven by client imagination. In a landmark move, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrated 20 years at Goodwood by commissioning a study on its economic impact. This study revealed a staggering contribution of over $5 billion to the UK economy since 2003. Reflecting its growth, Rolls-Royce created 180 new jobs at its Global Centre of Luxury Manufacturing Excellence in 2023. A key focus for the brand in 2023 was the expansion of its Bespoke and Coachbuild capabilities, aligning with the preparation for its future EV portfolio. The unveiling of Droptail, a highly exclusive two-seater roadster, showcased Rolls-Royce's jaw-dropping craftsmanship. With only four units ever to be produced, each Droptail represents the pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity. The United States and Greater China emerged as key markets, with substantial growth in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions. Rolls-Royce Recaps Its Bespoke Commissions In 2023

Rolls-Royce looks back on an incredible year of bespoke projects. Rolls-Royce is known for representing the pinnacle of automotive luxury, and that means more than just a quiet, smooth ride and plush amenities. Rolls-Royce builds it vehicles with painstaking effort to earn its global reputation for artisan craftsmanship, attention to detail, creative expression, and uncompromising artistry. The greatest example of Rolls-Royces abilities on all fronts come from its Bespoke division, a branch of Rolls-Royce dedicated to fulfilling client wishes and conceptualizing some of the most unique, exclusive, rare, and beautiful creations in the automotive world. This past year has been one of the most successful and busy years for Rolls-Royce Bespoke, and to celebrate it, Rolls-Royce looks back on the commissions created in 2023, which include some of the most involved, technically challenging, ambitious, and expensive ones it’s done yet. The Rose Blossom Phantom features embroidery throughout inspired by the flower gardens in Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood headquarters, and the flowers in its Starlight headliner took over 200 hours to complete. The Phantom Syntopia, designed and created in collaboration with famed couture designer Iris Van Herpen, was the most technically complex Bespoke project Rolls-Royce has ever undertaken. With 162 glass organza “petals,” among other stunning features, the Starlight headliner was the result of near 700 hours of work. Inspired by the captivating phenomenon of the solar eclipse, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection has a Starlight headliner that uses over 1,000 “stars” to depict a solar eclipse, with the animation lasting 7 minutes and 31 seconds. The Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadow Private Collection takes inspiration from the invisible line that separates the Earth’s atmosphere from outer space 62 miles above ground, the Kármán Line. Its embroidered Starlight Headliner, depicting the Moon’s surface, uses 250,000 stitches and 1,183 stars, and has artistic perforations in the seats with 75,000 tiny holes depicting clouds viewed from above the Earth. The Ghost Champagne Rose was commissioned by online personality @ChampagneRose, and it extensively uses a signature, bespoke ‘Champagne Rose’ color throughout, matching it between both the exterior and the interior of the sedan. Inspired by its eponymous English city, the Manchester Ghost celebrates Rolls-Royce’s founding at the Midland Hotel in 1904 by Charles Rolls and Henry Royce. 10,000 dots in the fascia depict the city from an aerial view. The Ghost Amber Roads, limited to a collection of just 12 examples, celebrates the ancient history, trade, and reverence for amber. The Bespoke Starlight Headliner shows the ancient trade routes for the elusive material, and a polished piece of amber sits in the central rotary dial. The final 12 examples of the Wraith were all part of the Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow Private Collection, which celebrates Captain George Eyston’s Bonneville Salt Flats land speed record set in 1938. The Starlight Headliner shows what the sky would have looked like that very night, and the car’s iconic V12 engine is depicted in the fascia. The Pearl Cullinan was commissioned by a family to commemorate a significant birthday, with the most mother-of-pearl a Rolls-Royce has ever seen. The Starlight Headliner shows the night sky in the birthplace of the owner on the night he was born. The Phantom Cinque Terre is named after the region in Italy that inspired it, which is full of color, vibrance, culture, and Mediterranean charm. 14,338 stitches in the headliner form a map of Italy, while 9,125 stitches make up a grape branch embroidery on the door panels. Made exclusively for Korea, the Black Badge Cullinan Lucid Nights collection consists of 3 cars with vivid, brightly-colored configurations that reflect the vibrancy, culture, and pace of nighttime Seoul. With a year full of diverse, beautiful, and artistic commissions, Rolls-Royce Bespoke used 2023 to continue proving its status as the ultimate representation of automotive luxury, artistry, craftsmanship, and design. Rolls-Royce Debuts ‘The Pearl Cullinan,’ a One-of-One Bes...

The Rolls-Royce Motor Cars brand is world-renowned for incorporating exceptional luxury and craftsmanship throughout its lineup, and its latest offering, 'The Pearl Cullinan,' embodies these core values. Crafted as a one-of-one Bespoke car to celebrate a customer's father's 90th birthday, this masterpiece is the brainchild of the Private Office Dubai, an extension of Rolls-Royce that brings the Goodwood experience to clients in the Middle East and Africa. The Cullinan's exterior showcases a unique Pearl Rose finish, born from the owner's prized pearl and specially crafted by paint specialists at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood. This one-of-a-kind paint underwent 30 different iterations and rigorous UV testing to ensure its long-lasting shine. Complementing the finish is a hand-applied Rose Gold coachline and a matching Spirit of Ecstasy. Inside the luxurious interior of the Cullinan, Rolls-Royce's artistry continues with a dual-color leather scheme, Cashmere Grey for the front seats and Ardent Red for the rear, each chosen to reflect the family's preferences and heritage. Fine details like Rose Gold-threaded 'RR' monograms and rear seat inserts in Grace White add an extra layer of extravagance. The burr walnut veneer resonates with the family’s tradition of presenting pearls on wooden boxes. A standout feature is Rolls-Royce’s lavish use of mother-of-pearl, appearing on intricately designed Picnic Tables, dashboard clock surround, and even the rotary dial. Over 1,300 individual pieces of mother-of-pearl are painstakingly hand-placed, creating an irreplaceable work of art in each tabletop. Michelle Lusby, Bespoke Lead Designer at the Private Office Dubai, emphasized the emotional depth of this Bespoke project, stating that it was a “truly special commission in so many ways” and a testament to the owner’s family story. ‘The Pearl Cullinan’ is an emotionally charged, finely crafted tribute to a family’s legacy, highlighting Rolls-Royce's position as the pinnacle of luxury automotive craftsmanship. Rolls-Royce And Goodwood Reveal Wild Seed Harvester for B...

The historic house and legendary luxury manufacturer collaborate on improving their shared home. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and Goodwood Estate are names that exude luxury, heritage, and meticulous craftsmanship. But there's another aspect that adds depth to their illustrious and intertwined personas: a commitment to environmental sustainability. Their recent feat? The debut of a highly specialized Wild Seed Harvester that just wrapped up its first season at the historic Goodwood Estate in West Sussex. Purchased in 2022, this unique machine reflects the long-standing environmental partnership between Rolls-Royce and the Duke of Richmond’s Goodwood Estate—a relationship that spans over two decades. Built entirely in the UK, the Wild Seed Harvester represents technology meeting sustainability. Hitched to a small tractor or an all-terrain vehicle, it elegantly sweeps through the pasture, collecting seeds from indigenous grasses and wildflowers. Regarding its productivity, the 1.2m (4 ft) wide machine has the capability to harvest around eight acres a day, depending on the density of the greenery. That's a significant upgrade in efficiency compared to traditional hand-harvesting methods. May, June, and August were buzzing with activity as the harvester traversed different locations across the estate, known for championing organic and sustainable farming practices. But what happens to the collected seeds? Once dried, these wildflower seeds will be dispersed across existing meadows, aiming to increase the current 49 plant species to over 100. Rather than simply being beautiful, these wildflowers will be the unsung heroes of biodiversity. They attract pollinators like bees and butterflies, improve soil quality, and reduce water pollution by minimizing nutrient runoff. Andrew Ball, the Head of Corporate Relations & Heritage at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, summed it up perfectly: "It's wonderful to see the difference it’s already making to the vital work of maintaining and improving our local wildflower populations." This initiative is in line with Rolls-Royce's broader conservation activities, which include maintaining a Wildlife Garden and the esteemed Goodwood Apiary, as well as planting over 20,000 trees in the area. As a result, the most desirable and luxurious cars in the world come from a home that inspires with its beauty and innovation towards sustainability. View All Rolls-Royces For Sale
