Chevrolet gives its electric truck a hot-blooded off-road twist.
The Chevrolet Silverado EV takes Chevrolet’s iconic pickup truck and transforms it into an electrified, innovative creation that allows those who want to experience the benefits of electric vehicles the option to retain the practicality and capability of pickup trucks. However, a new performance-oriented variant of the Chevrolet Silverado EV is being teased in the form of the Chevrolet Silverado EV ZR2 off-road race truck concept.
The concept version takes the electric power of the Silverado EV and brings it to the off-road race course, showing off its capability in a thrilling, exciting, and highly challenging situation for any vehicle. To prove its mettle, the Chevrolet Silverado EV ZR2 off-road race truck concept is set to participate in one of the most iconic off-road races in the country: the Mint 400.
Taking place outside Las Vegas, Nevada, the Mint 400 shows off the greatest off-road racers in the Nevada desert, with the Silverado EV participating in the Open Production EV class, joining Silverado ZR2 and Colorado ZR2 race trucks in the race. Made 98% with GM production parts, and using the same formula as its Silverado and Colorado ZR2 counterparts with lifted suspension, locking differentials, and skid protection, the race truck concept isn’t dramatically changed from the production version, showing off its performance in a unique desert racing venue.
