If you ask any car collector what an automotive haven looks like, most likely the answer you’ll receive is the Mecum Auctions‘ Kissimmee event. Annually marked on its schedule as The Largest Collector Car Auction event, the industry’s most prominent collectors gather in the middle of Florida to buy, sell, and set the collector car market for 2024. To make things even more special on its 25th anniversary, Mecum Auctions is proud to announce that Kissimmee 2024 Eclipses received a record-setting 4,000 consignments and nearly 40 collections.
One of the most anticipated auction lots of the entire showcase is a 1966 Ford GT40 MkI Road Car from The Apex Collection, one of just 30 ever produced with only 13,442 original miles. The car was hidden from the public eye for almost three decades and is now finally making its debut thanks to a meticulous restoration by RUF Automobiles. Mecum Auctions also highlights a 1987 Porsche 959 Komfort, a rare investment-grade gem with only 292 units ever made, powered by a matching-numbers 2.85L twin-turbocharged flat 6-cylinder engine. Continuing the theme of homologated icons, a 1993 Jaguar XJ220 will take center stage as it historically represents Jaguar’s flagship supercar with only 282 examples ever built.
If you’re a collector or fan of Ferrari, Kissimmee 2024 Eclipses is where you want to be, with an array of exclusive, classic examples being offered for the first time. A 1967 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART Spyder, one of only ten built, a 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/LM Competizione Speciale, one of three, and a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder, the last of its kind, are set to attract bidding. For those with an acquired taste for American muscle, the auction presents a diverse lineup of collectibles, including a Split Window Colorama Collection of Corvettes, the Northwest Shelby Collection, and selections from The Michael Fux Collection, featuring low-mileage vehicles from multiple prestigious manufacturers.
Adding to the excitement, a custom 2024 Can-Am Maverick R, victorious in the 2023 Baja 1000, will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting The 43 Institute in memory of motorsports legend Ken Block. Don’t forget to stop by Mecum’s Road Art section to check out over 1,000 lots of collectible items, including rare junior rides and neon signs. With a record-setting $234 million in sales in 2023, Mecum Kissimmee 2024 is ready to kick off the new year with another groundbreaking event.
