Renowned for engineering some of the fastest hypercars on the planet, Koenigsegg consistently sets new benchmarks with its commitment to pushing the boundaries of design, technology, and performance. Each model in their lineup of hand-crafted, multi-million dollar hypercars is an example of this relentless pursuit. This dedication to innovation ensures that Koenigsegg remains at the forefront of the hypercar market, continually evolving and challenging the limits of automotive performance. Of all the astonishing creations to come from the mind of founder Christian Von Koenigsegg, the all-new Jesko Attack stands out as a true track weapon that boasts incredible power and agility. Showcasing the capabilities of its newest production model, Koenigsegg recently took the Jesko Attack to the Gotland Ring in hopes of securing a new lap record.
Stretching more than 4.5 miles, the Gotland Ring ranks among Europe’s longer circuits. Its series of jumps and undulations pose challenges similar to the famed Nürburgring, but on a slightly shorter scale. During the test session, ambient temperatures hovered around 18°C, and the fuel utilized was standard pump gas with an EU rating of 98-octane, comparable to the 93-octane rating in the US. At the rear of the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack, a 1,280 horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 patiently awaited its opportunity to lay down some lap times. Test Driver Niklas Lilja revealed that he exerted the Jesko to about 90% of its capabilities, focusing not on setting records but on conducting vehicle testing and marketing initiatives.
The previously fastest documented lap at Gotland Ring was clocked at 3:04.83 by a Porsche GT3RS MR. However, the Jesko, in its production configuration, shattered this record by completing the lap in just 2:56.97. This impressive feat was officially recorded and verified by RaceLogic.
