Maserati shows off its newest supercar hero in action.
Maserati transformed its historic Italian luxury brand when, at the beginning of the decade, it revealed the MC20, its modern supercar and a long-awaited successor to its legendary MC12. With a twin-turbocharged V6 and a racing-derived design, the MC20 boasts incredible performance that has catapulted Maserati into a new era as a manufacturer. However, Maserati took it a step further when it introduced the new GT2 Stradale, a roadgoing supercar with track-ready features and tweaks that bridges the gap between the MC20 and Maserati’s MC20-based GT2 racing supercar.
Debuted originally during Monterey Car Week at the prestigious The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering event, the new Maserati GT2 Stradale is an extreme street-legal supercar, with aggressive design and even more thrilling performance than the MC20 already offers. Recently, Maserati demonstrated the GT2 Stradale’s abilities on the road, with a dynamic debut taking place in the idyllic, picturesque Andalusia region of Spain.
A test drive of the new GT2 Stradale took drivers through some of the most beautiful, scenic roads of Andalusia with a destination of the private Ascari Circuit near Ronda. Named after a legendary Italian F1 driver, the circuit was the perfect location to show off the GT2 Stradale’s ability to reach 60 mph from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 201 mph. With only 914 examples being produced, the dynamic debut of the new Maserati GT2 Stradale showed off the incredible abilities of the Trident’s new exclusive supercar.
