Lanzante prepares to open an exciting new chapter.
Known for its legendary motorsport legacy and its intertwined history with McLaren, Lanzante became an important name in the automotive world with its victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995 with the McLaren F1 GTR. Since then, a long 30 years have passed, and Lanzante Limited has plans on celebrating the milestone anniversary of the incredible endurance racing feat in a big way.
Dubbed ‘Project 95-59,’ the upcoming creation from Lanzante is named after the year of Lanzante’s incredible victory, and the racing number that the winning car wore, which serendipitously forms a palindrome. The new project will be a limited edition, bespoke-engineered vehicle based on a McLaren platform.
The car will represent the culmination of Lanzante’s motorsport, engineering, and design ability that has been growing over the past 30 years, and it will feature a driver-focused three-seat layout, like the McLaren F1 that helped Lanzante build its cherished legacy decades ago. It will also feature luggage capacity with a focus on usability, and it targets a power-to-weight ratio of 700 horsepower per ton.
Paul Howse is responsible for the design of Lanzante’s Project 95-59, and his resume includes creating the aerodynamic and revered shape of the legendary McLaren P1 hybrid hypercar. Previewed to customers at an exclusive event, the new Lanzante model is set for a debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it will celebrate 30 years of motorsport and engineering excellence.
