This partnership promises an unparalleled driving experience in McLaren’s supercars.
British luxury supercar and hypercar manufacturer McLaren Automotive recently partnered with Tenneco to name Monroe the Official Intelligent Suspension Supplier for its road car lineup. This partnership represents a pivotal move that highlights the role of cutting-edge technology in shaping the future of high-performance cars.
Tenneco, through its Monroe Intelligent Suspension brand, will supply McLaren with top-of-the-line electronic suspension systems. These systems are far from run-of-the-mill—they’re designed to offer McLaren’s discerning clientele the sort of precise, exhilarating driving experience they’ve come to expect. Monroe’s Intelligent Suspension CVSA2 technology already features in models like the McLaren 540C, 570GT, 570S, and 600LT, among others. The system’s adaptability, relying on real-time data points like steering angle and vehicle speed, ensures a ride that is equally high-performance, comfortable, and safe.
It’s worth noting that this partnership isn’t the beginning of McLaren and Monroe’s relationship. Rather, it builds on a solid, decade-long history between McLaren and Monroe. The companies first collaborated in 2011 when they introduced the Kinetic® suspension system on McLaren’s first supercar since the F1, the MP4-12C. Over the years, they’ve consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with automotive suspension technology.
The advanced Monroe Intelligent Suspension CVSA2/Kinetic system takes things up a notch. This system brings together adaptive damper control with a unique lightweight roll-control hydraulic system. The integrated system offers a blend of road isolation, damping, and roll control that is hard to beat, promising enhanced comfort and handling for top-notch driving performance. If you’re a fan of models like the MP4-12C, 650S, 675LT, or even the new 750S, you’ll be pleased to know that this cutting-edge technology already features in these supercars. In addition, the crème de la crème Ultimate Series of McLaren models like the P1, P1 GTR, Senna, and Speedtail come equipped with this technology, and in the future with a new partnership, it’s only going to get better.
In the words of Romain Nollet, Vice President and General Manager of Monroe Ride Solutions at Tenneco, this collaboration will “drive what’s next in suspension technology.” Similarly, Charles Sanderson, the Chief Technical Officer at McLaren Automotive, believes that the Intelligent Suspension technologies from Monroe play a significant role in maintaining McLaren’s global benchmark status for driving precision and performance. By focusing on adaptive, real-time technologies that enhance both comfort and performance, McLaren and Monroe are setting a new standard for what it means to be a leader in the automotive world.
