Personalization has never been more critical to the modern luxury world than it is today. Brands across multiple price points, from Porsche to Bentley and Rolls-Royce, have expanded their customization arms in recent years to offer customers nearly limitless personalization options.
Mercedes-AMG did much the same with its Manufaktur program, expanding it to multiple models over the years. In 2023, the German marque announced the latest R232-generation SL would receive the Manufaktur treatment by introducing a limited US-only model named Big Sur.

Its Orange Flame Metallic paint, an exclusive Manufaktur finish, drew inspiration from the warm-toned sunsets seen across the Pacific coast. The theme continued across its interior with plenty of orange hand-stitched details. However, the carmaker did not provide specific figures, the carmaker limited production and chose to sell it exclusively in the US.
Today, the brand’s customization arm is back with another limited-run model, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Manufaktur Golden Coast. While the marque announced it last year, stating that it would be sold globally, US-bound units are expected to arrive at dealerships starting this month.
Like its predecessor, the Golden Coast retains the beach theme, focusing on the golden sands instead of the orange skies. That’s the main inspiration for its matte Manufaktur exclusive Kalahari Gold Magno paint.

A set of 21-inch forged cross-spoke wheels is finished in satin black to contrast against the bright bodywork and integrate subtle details while wearing the Kalahari Gold Magno shade.
The black and gold theme continues in its interior, where you’ll find hand-stitched black Nappa leather seats adorned with a contrasting gold diamond stitch pattern. The same goes for its AMG Performance steering wheel, armrests, door cards, and dashboard. Bright, Kalahari Gold Magno-finished trim adorns its center console, door handles, and seats.

Being a special edition model, the Golden Coast includes many extras offered for the normal SL 63 as standard equipment, such as its AMG Performance seats, AMG Night Package, AMG Extended Night Package, and AMG Aerodynamics Package.

Mechanically, this model is identical to a standard SL 63, with its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 developing 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.
