The Audi e-tron SUV was the beginning of Audi’s incredible journey in creating electric vehicles for the road, and in just a short time, the luxury brand’s electric lineup has grown immensely. However, Audi has decided to transform the original e-tron SUV, changing its name to the Q8 e-tron, and adding a Sportback body style to accompany the SUV. The new 2024 Q8 e-tron has now been revealed, and it features everything that made the e-tron great along with new features that build on its reputation for luxury, practicality, and electric driving power.
The Q8 name positions the SUV as Audi’s electric SUV flagship, and as such, features like the illuminated grille, improved steering characteristics, revised charging, and a quieter, more luxurious interior give it the qualities needed to take up that position. An improved steering ratio makes for more responsiveness when steering, while a larger battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent capacity in as little as 31 minutes with DC charging technology.
The interior features leather upholstery and features like a standard panoramic roof, as well as luxurious accents in open-pore wood. Another luxury the vehicle offers is convenience, with voice control capabilities and a head-up display for important information. In addition, Audi’s commitment to environmental sustainability goes further than the Q8 e-tron’s lack of a combustion engine, as the production is also certified to be net carbon neutral. With added luxury and improved characteristics throughout, the Q8 e-tron is the start of a new chapter for Audi’s electric lineup.
