Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) has left a mark on the automotive scene at Monterey Car Week 2023 with the grand unveiling of its new Mono supercar. The Mono is a breathtaking single-seater, high-performance vehicle designed to fulfill the global demand for an on-road and on-track experience. This latest creation is set to become the core product of BAC as the company continues to thrive and expand worldwide.
Drawing inspiration from the legendary Mono concept, a significant part of BAC’s heritage, the new Mono supercar embodies the essence of high-performance driving. BAC’s chairman, Mike Flewitt, announced the car’s debut at the ‘House of BAC’ in Carmel, emphasizing that the Mono represents a bold new chapter in the company’s development.
Powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.5L engine that revs up to 8,000rpm, the Mono’s powertrain delivers 311 horsepower and 231 lb-ft of torque. The engineering behind the car includes forged connecting rods, high-performance camshafts, uprated valve springs, and an optimized carbon fiber inlet. Additionally, the Mono’s remarkable power-to-weight ratio of 546hp-per-ton, coupled with a meticulously crafted lightweight structure, enables a 0-60mph sprint in just 2.7 seconds. The integration of BAC’s unique suspension and damping setup, which evolved over a decade, ensures precise control and exhilarating handling performance.
Production of this one-of-a-kind supercar has begun at BAC’s headquarters in Liverpool, UK, and orders are being placed from around the globe. The Mono’s launch marks a significant milestone for BAC, cementing its place as a leader and competitor in the high-performance automotive industry.
