The 80th Goodwood Members’ Meeting took place, and this year, Goodwood celebrates 75 years of racing at the historical English racetrack. At the same time, Porsche is celebrating its 75th anniversary as a brand, and its ever-classic 911 sports car model is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Naturally, these important anniversaries came together to celebrate in a big way. Over the years, race cars based on the timeless Porsche 911 have earned incredible legacies and helped define their respective chapters in motorsport history. At Goodwood, 19 of these cars went around the storied course together.
The cars included the 1973 911 Carrera 2.8 RSR that won Targa Florio, the 1974 911 RSR 3.0, the 935/78, four 911 GT2 Rs, and one legendary car that earned Porsche its incredible 16th Le Mans win: the 1998 911 GT1. With an incredible ode to the monumental motorsport triumphs of one of the most iconic performance cars ever made happening at one of the most iconic race tracks in the world, this celebration of Porsche and Goodwood history together is nothing short of epic.
