Polestar integrates Google’s most advanced technology into its cars.
A brand that is dedicated to representing the forefront of electric mobility, Polestar’s lineup of electric luxury cars is rapidly expanding, including SUVs, grand tourers, and even a roadster on the horizon. In that endeavor, Google has been a longstanding partner of Polestar regarding its in-car technology, and one of the recent chapters of that partnership has been launching Google Maps AI-powered live lane guidance for the Polestar 4. Now, Polestar is going to introduce Google’s Gemini in all of its models.
An upgrade from Google Assistant, Gemini is an AI voice assistant that enables users to have more natural conversations, eliminating the need for specific commands and making the system feel more intuitive and user-friendly. “Hey Google, let’s talk,” is the simple prompt that begins a conversation with the system. After that, users can brainstorm out loud and even ask questions that follow up on previous ones.
In a Google update coming to all Polestar cars, Gemini is set to replace the existing Google Assistant. An early demonstration of the technology is set to be showcased in Helsinki, Finland, at Slush from November 19-20, and Polestar drivers will be able to experience Gemini in their cars as early as 2026, beginning with US English language users. With some of the most advanced tech that Google currently offers, Polestar’s electric luxury cars are more futuristic than ever.
