The team’s dedication has been key in overcoming various challenges and driving the facility’s success. Underlining Porsche’s dedication to innovation, the Leipzig site has evolved into an electromobility hub, capable of manufacturing vehicles with combustion, electric, and hybrid powertrains on a single line.
Recognized for its ‘smart factory’ approaches, the Leipzig plant has garnered multiple awards, including the prestigious Factory of the Year award for 2023. Focusing on intelligent, digital, and connected manufacturing processes, the facility is also committed to sustainability, aspiring towards a Zero Impact Factory vision. Its responsibility in sustainability and efficiency is reflected in the Platinum rating from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and the Lean & Green Management Award 2021.
