Bugatti Teases New Programme Solitaire One-Off

Bugatti unveiled the first creation from its Programme Solitaire, a customization program dedicated to creating unfathomably exclusive and special one-offs, at the most recent Monterey Car Week: the Bugatti Brouillard, which featured the legendary quad-turbocharged W16 engine. It was named after Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse, and its painstaking, unique craftsmanship pays homage to Bugatti’s dominance in coachbuilding and exclusivity from long before its modern era of hypercars in the early 20th century. That historically inspired coachbuilding excellence is poised to make a return with a new Programme Solitaire creation, which Bugatti has teased in its latest announcement. It’s set to be revealed on January 22, and in the video that accompanies the announcement, which is dimly lit and hard to make out, the engine cover of Bugatti’s legendary W16 can be seen. Regardless of what the new Programme Solitaire Bugatti will be, what is guaranteed about it is that it will be a one-of-one hypercar creation, and certainly will be one of the most sought-after and desirable collector-grade cars to ever be made. While Bugatti has spent decades now dominating the automotive industry in the realms of performance, luxury, and exclusivity, its new chapter is adding one-of-one craftsmanship savoir faire to the mix. Bugatti Adds the Chiron Pur Sport and Vision Gran Turismo to Its LEGO Portfolio

Bugatti announced two new LEGO sets available from January 1: the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport and the LEGO Speed Champions Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo.   The Technic Chiron Pur Sport is built around how the real car behaves. The Pur Sport sits at the sharp end of the Chiron family, defined by shorter gear ratios, reduced weight, and a focus on precision driving rather than outright top speed. A 1-of-60 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Jaune Molsheim recently became the first hypercar listed on duPont REGISTRY Live, marking a milestone for our auctions platform. LEGO translates that philosophy into function as captured and highlighted by the Pur Sport's fixed wing and the distinctive C-Shaped design element of the Chiron. You assemble a working steering, opening doors and hood, and a detailed W16 engine that is meant to be examined. At 771 pieces and more than 11 inches long, the model demands patience in bridging this build together. If you enjoy understanding mechanical layout and movement, this is the set should keep you engaged.  The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo, meanwhile, was originally conceived as a concept for the Gran Turismo video game, later realized as a show car that referenced Bugatti’s racing heritage from the 1920s and 1930s. LEGO’s Speed Champions version keeps that spirit intact. With 284 pieces, it captures the horseshoe grille, eight eye headlights, roof fin, wide Michelin-branded tires, and dramatic rear wing. The included Bugatti-suited minifigure completes the single-seat cockpit and reinforces its competition-focused intent. Both sets support the LEGO Builder app, allowing you to rotate instructions in 3D and track progress, a practical touch that makes longer builds easier to return to and finish. “Our collaboration with the LEGO Group continues to grow in exciting ways. With four different Bugatti models – the Chiron Pur Sport, Vision Gran Turismo, Centodieci, and Bolide – available simultaneously for the first time, we are sharing the essence of what makes Bugatti special with collectors of all ages. Each model tells a different story about our brand.” - Wiebke Ståhl, Managing Director of Bugatti International. Ståhl further added that such sets expand their audience beyond a select group of hypercar owners to millions of fans, gamers, and performance aficionados, a point that we also highlighted when sales of Gordon Murray’s T33 exceeded one million units in Hot Wheels sales last year. These cars aren’t just mere toys, but stand to inspire and serve as aspirational pursuits for future generations. Shop All Automotive LEGO Sets Image Source: Bugatti

Bugatti Celebrates Record Production In 2025

Bugatti ends 2025 riding record highs. Since joining forces with futuristic performance EV titan Rimac, Bugatti has spent the past few years transforming, while remaining at the highest echelon of luxury, exclusivity, and craftsmanship. However, significant change came in the retirement of its W16 quad-turbocharged engine in favor of the naturally aspirated V16 with hybrid assist that powers the new Tourbillon. While the Tourbillon is getting ready to hit the market, the last cohort of W16-powered Bugatti cars, like the W16 Mistral, the Bolide, and even the one-of-one Brouillard, the first creation to emerge from Bugatti’s new Programme Solitaire. The past year, in particular, marked the 20th anniversary of the groundbreaking Bugatti Veyron, and as the era it started is coming to an end, Bugatti celebrated building the highest number of cars in 2025 that had ever been built in the brand’s history in a single year. Events like the gathering of 47 Bugatti Veyron examples at the Wynn Las Vegas, the completion of the final Bugatti Bolide, and the reveal of the Bugatti Brouillard at last year’s Monterey Car Week were some of the highlights of Bugatti’s incredibly successful 2025 and the beginning of its new chapter, continuing to be one of the automotive industry’s most cherished names. As Bugatti moves forward into 2026, Tourbillon customer configurations began in 2025, and the brand looks forward to events like the 100th anniversary of the Bugatti Royale, and the 10th anniversary of Bugatti’s recent legend, the Chiron. 1-of-60 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport

duPont REGISTRY Live came online in mid-November 2025, and in just over a month, more than 40 cars have already crossed the block. Unique to our platform, duPont REGISTRY Live also offers a 14-day return policy and a 100% sell-through rate, giving you confidence before you place a bid. The highest bid so far landed just shy of seven figures, achieved by a 1992 Porsche 911 Targa reimagined by Singer. Since launch, our auctions platform has seen everything from sports sedans, sports cars, and modern supercars change hands, but we’ve now hit a new milestone with our very first hypercar offering: a 2023 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, one of only 60 built worldwide. With 6,848 miles and single ownership from California, this Pur Sport wears the historically significant Jaune Molsheim theme, pairing Nocturne paint with Giallo Midas accents and a Beluga Black interior. What makes this color combination especially significant is that founder Ettore Bugatti favored yellow and black on his personal cars, and this configuration directly references that lineage. Lower body sections finished in exposed black carbon highlight the Pur Sport’s more aggressive stance. Image Source: Bugatti As a quick primer, the Pur Sport is the track-focused model in the Chiron lineup and sits between Sport and Supersport models in the hierarchy. The iconic Pïech-era quad turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 still produces 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque, but the focus, unlike most modern Bugattis, was never about outright speed here. While 60 mph still comes up in under 2.5 seconds, top speed is capped at 218 mph, so engineers could sharpen every other dynamic attribute. Compared to other Chirons, Bugatti shortened the gear ratios by 15 percent, recalibrated the 7-speed dual clutch, and revised the All Wheel Drive system. Spring rates are 65 percent higher up front and 33 percent higher at the rear. Camber and stability control are retuned for aggressive driving. Aero revisions, including a fixed rear wing and enlarged front splitter, generate upto 1,654 pounds of downforce at speed, with exposed aerodynamic elements clearly separating the Pur Sport from other Chiron variants. This specific example carries a staggering $234,300 in factory options with highlights including the Sky View roof, the Pur Sport interior package in Giallo Taurus, a Nocturne painted engine cover, a black-coated exhaust deflector, and bespoke Giallo Midas detailing across the mesh, logos, and rear wing accents. With total Chiron production capped at just 500 examples across all variants, of which only 60 were Pur Sports, and only a handful finished in the historic yellow and black color combination like the one seen here, this particular car presents a rare opportunity to acquire something truly exquisite and exclusive in Bugatti’s modern-day lineage. So if you are a serious collector, head over to duPont REGISTRY Live and place a bid on one of the most tastefully specified reference-grade Chiron Pur Sports ever. Bugatti CEO, Mate Rimac Puts Tourbillon Hypercar Through ...

We have extensively covered Bugatti’s docu-series throughout the year, which explored how the Tourbillon evolved from design studies to aerodynamics and engineering validation. New context shared alongside a short Instagram clip by Bugatti CEO, Mate Rimac, adds scale to that story. The clip opens with an ecstatic Mate on a snowy day, pointing the camera at a two-door Wrangler, calling it the ideal vehicle for such weather. Moments later, though, he flips the camera for us to find two unlikely vehicles, Bugatti’s latest hypercar, the Tourbillon, sitting alongside a Rimac Nevera. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Mate Rimac (@materimac) It is worth highlighting that, unlike typical spy footage of heavily camouflaged prototypes rushed through test programs by development drivers, this clip shows the company’s chief executive personally validating the final product that will soon ship to customers. Now it goes without saying that a 4x4 would obviously be better suited in such conditions. Also, supercars, let alone hypercars, would never see the light of day in such weather, but Mate wanted to showcase just what these cars are capable and how they handle in low traction situations, on winter tires ofcourse. Rimac is later seen driving the production-intent Bugatti Tourbillon on snow, with a clear view of the analog dials in the Tourbillon’s interior, which inspired this car’s name. All 250 cars are already spoken for. The Tourbillon marks a clean break from the W16 era that defined the Veyron and Chiron. Out goes the Quad-turbo beast from the Pïech-era and in its place, a naturally aspirated 8.3-liter V16 paired with three electric motors for an all-wheel drive setup. The combustion engine on its own produces more than 1,000 horsepower, with the hybrid system adding an additional 800 for a combined 1,800 horsepower. While the V16 appears to be the way forward, we're still unclear on the W16's future, because Bugatti showed it on the one-off Brouillard at the Quail earlier this year. Bugatti has some big shoes to fill in the post-W16 flagship, and the Tourbillon has a lot to live up to when deliveries of this 4.4 million dollar hybrid hypercar commence. Multi-Million-Dollar 1937 Bugatti Type 57S Atlante Spotte...

In addition to the famous Rockefeller Christmas tree, the museum-grade Bugatti is proudly displayed in the heart of NYC. Every winter, New York City slips into its own familiar rhythm. Streets glow a little warmer, storefronts lean into seasonal charm, and Rockefeller Center becomes a mecca for anyone chasing a sense of holiday cheer. The massive, colorfully lit Christmas tree usually draws all the attention, but this year, something else is stopping bystanders in their tracks. Spotted sitting inside a glass display crate outside of Christie's New York is a 1937 Bugatti Type 57S Atlante, promoting the first-ever Retromobile NY just one year away . Amidst the ornaments and crowds, this pre-war masterpiece looks almost surreal, more a museum artifact than a Christmas decoration, yet perfectly at home in the middle of Manhattan. Founded by Ettore Bugatti, the brand treated automobiles as rolling works of art long before that phrase became overused. The Type 57 line, introduced in the 1930s under the guidance of Ettore’s son Jean Bugatti, marked a high point in that philosophy. Elegant, technically advanced, and unmistakably dramatic, these examples set new standards for performance and design in the pre-war era. The Atlante variant, defined by its dramatic coupe silhouette and central dorsal seam, was the most striking expression of that vision. Jacob Hopkins The “S” in Type 57S stands for Surbaissé, or “lowered,” and it wasn’t just a stylistic choice. With a dropped chassis, dry-sump lubrication, and supercharged straight-eight power in some versions, the 57S was a serious sports car disguised as haute couture. Only a handful of Atlantés were ever built, making each surviving example a cornerstone of automotive history. Its influence still echoes through Bugatti’s modern hypercar lineup. Provenance plays a big role in the Atlante’s mysterious legacy. Over the years, examples have been owned by some of the most respected collectors in the world, and when they trade hands, they do so at staggering numbers. Documented sales have reached eight-figure territory, with top examples rumored to exceed $30 million privately, positioning the Type 57S Atlante among the most valuable collector cars in existence. Seeing one displayed publicly, especially in a place as iconic as Rockefeller Center, is like a gift in itself. All Bugatti Inventory Image Source: Jacob Hopkins

Final Bugatti Bolide Off the Production Line Joins a Priv...

The last Bugatti Bolide has officially rolled off the Atelier in Molsheim, France, and if you’ve followed the story of this 1,600-horsepower Bugatti, you know how significant this moment is. This is the final example of the 40, quad-turbo W16-powered track-only Bugatti that will ever be built, and is a carefully curated commission by a collector with deep ties to the French marque’s past. It now joins a final Veyron Grand Sport and a notable Type 35 in the same private collection, forming a three-car narrative that spans nearly a century of Bugatti engineering. The spec features a combination of Black, Blue, and Special Blue Lyonnais on the exterior, applied with variation across aero surfaces so that different sections respond differently to light, giving the car a visual depth that goes far beyond conventional color selection.  Inside, Bugatti finished the cockpit in Lake Blue Alcantara with Light Blue Sport stitching across key structural zones, including on the steering wheel and harness points that support the monocoque. A subtle French flag sits on the body and ties the modern machine back to Bugatti’s prewar competition roots. “We set out to create a car that can perform on the racetrack yet also belongs in the world’s finest collections. That’s why we devoted extraordinary attention to every detail of execution, from the paintwork to the interior, so that owning a Bolide reflects the same level of craftsmanship as every other Bugatti in your collection.” - Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles Looking back at the Bolide’s short stint, development began in August 2021 and stretched across thousands of hours of design work and track mileage, eventually leading to early prototypes that ran publicly at the 100th Le Mans anniversary, where Bugatti’s legendary test driver, Andy Wallace, was able to reach 217 miles per hour on the straight. The team continued testing through 2024 with tightly managed track programs, including at runs at the famed Nardò ring in southern Italy. We have also seen it make runs at Goodwood and Circuit Paul Ricard. Bugatti built the Bolide around a singular purpose. It needed to deliver a driving experience that a gentleman racer could approach confidently, without diluting anything demanded by seasoned professionals. That combination usually involves trade-offs. Bugatti refused to compromise, which is why the engineering team spent thousands of hours refining details that most track cars ignore. "We were developing the Bolide as a project that demanded a very high level of performance. The idea of being a perfect track car for both gentlemen and professional drivers is not so easy to translate into driving attributes, but it's essential to what makes it a Bugatti." - Emilio Scervo, Chief Technical Officer, Bugatti As for valuations, the Bolide hit the market at $4.4 million when allocations opened, and with only 40 total cars and with a model of immense importance within Bugatti’s timeline, collectors already view these cars differently from typical high-end track specials. Limited supply, a proven development program, and the definitive conclusion of the W16 era. You will not see many resales, and if one does appear, like the one that was offered at the Pebble Beach auction earlier this year, estimate a number much higher than the original cost. In private circles, owners treat the Bolide less like an asset that moves and more like one that remains. The timing also aligns with a major shift in Bugatti’s future product direction. We recently discussed the Mistral, which closes the book on the Piech-era W16 for road cars, and the Bolide now completes that story for track machinery. The next-generation Tourbillon will pair a V16 with an electric motor, representing a different kind of performance philosophy, although Bugatti surprised everyone at Monterey with the 1-of-1 Brouillard, which once again used a W16. Whether the powerplant returns through ultra-limited commissions remains an open question. Images: Bugatti

How "Chassis 5.0" Helped Shape The Legendary Bugatti Veyron

Before the Veyron made history. Before it was a record-breaker, the Bugatti Veyron was just a dream that seemed too ambitious even for Bugatti. Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch imagined a car that could do everything from outpace anything on a track to delivering a comfortable ride to its passengers. It was designed to be something in between, a fantasy that even the best engineers of the time weren’t sure could exist. But that’s what made it worth chasing. Years of sketches, calculations, and late-night problem-solving eventually led to the final proving ground for that vision, the pre-production Series 5 prototypes. By the time the Series 5 cars were built in the early 2000s, the Veyron project had already gone through countless false starts and breakthroughs. The task was unlike anything in automotive history, creating a road car with more than 1,000 horsepower that could stay cool, composed, and civilized. The team spent years learning how to tame the heat, the aero, and the power that the W16 engine would unleash. The Series 5 cars were where everything finally came together as experiments, designed to fail, improve, and try again until the car was right. Each one carried the lessons of the prototypes before it, inching closer to something that felt almost impossible. When Chassis 5.0 rolled out in early 2005, it was a moment of validation. The engineers had solved the last of the big problems. The ten radiators kept everything cool, even at full throttle. The dual-clutch gearbox, a completely new invention for this level of performance, could finally handle the torque without breaking. And the W16, with four turbochargers, sixteen cylinders, and an unmistakable sound, delivered power that felt both relentless and strangely effortless. It wasn’t about chasing numbers anymore. It was about the feeling of control, of mastering something that had once seemed untamable. Looking back, the Series 5 cars were about proving that the dream itself was possible. They’re the unsung heroes behind the legend and the cars that turned ideas into reality. Without them, there would have been no Veyron, no Chiron, no modern hypercar movement. Each mile they covered represented countless hours of doubt, determination, and discovery. All Bugatti Hypercars For Sale Source: Bugatti

Luka Dončić Shows Off His New Bugatti W16 Mistral To Snoo...

One of basketball’s biggest stars gets the end of a hypercar era. In many ways, Bugatti represents the ultimate echelon of hypercar engineering, and until very recently, that was thanks to an unfathomable powertrain: a W16 engine with four turbochargers. As Bugatti pursues the future of hypercar excellence, its newest hypercar, the Tourbillon, features a naturally aspirated hybrid V16 instead, but that W16 didn’t go out without a good deal of fanfare. One of the last models to be revealed featuring the legendary quad-turbo W16 engine was the W16 Mistral, a stunning roadster with bold design elements and the most powerful, 1,600-horsepower iteration of the monstrous power plant. Only 99 units of the W16 Mistral will be produced, and one of the owners of the ultra-exclusive hypercar is none other than star basketball player Luka Dončić. Recently the subject of a shocking trade from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers, Dončić’s career includes receiving the Rookie of the Year award at just 19 years old, being selected for five NBA All-Star games, leading the NBA in scoring during the 2023-2024 season, and many more noteworthy achievements at the age of 26. He is considered by many to be one of the best players in the NBA and of all time, and according to his latest hypercar purchase, a member of one of the automotive world’s most elite circles. In a new post on Instagram from the Los Angeles Lakers, Dončić showed off his new Bugatti W16 Mistral roadster to none other than Snoop Dogg, a hip-hop legend, especially regarding the West Coast, Luka’s new home. Suggestive of its unfathomable performance potential, the spec of Luka Dončić’s new Bugatti Mistral includes exposed carbon fiber and an interior with stunning orange accents. With 1,600 horsepower on tap and some of the greatest engineering the automotive world has to offer, the Bugatti W16 Mistral is an appropriate piece of automotive excellence for someone as impactful in the sport of basketball as Luka Dončić.
