DRIVEN Cars & Coffee Makes Its Debut at The Abbey at Aventura

DRIVEN Cars & Coffee Makes Its Debut at The Abbey at Aventura

South Florida's collector car scene found a new home on Saturday, May 2, when DRIVEN Cars & Coffee held its inaugural event at The Abbey at Aventura, extending into Aventura Mall. Powered by Prestige Imports, Turnberry Associates, and duPont REGISTRY Group, the morning drew more than 500 guests for what became an immediate statement of intent for the series. Over 100 exotic and high-performance vehicles filled the space, sourced from Prestige Imports, duPont REGISTRY, and the broader South Florida automotive community. The centerpiece moment of the morning was the exclusive unveiling of the Czinger 21C VMax by Czinger Miami, one of the most technically ambitious hypercars in production today. Gunther Werks Miami also turned heads with "Alchemy," a color-shifting Porsche that drew a steady crowd throughout the event. Lamborghini Miami brought the latest from Sant'Agata, including the Revuelto in a striking Blu Cepheus finish. Combining a naturally aspirated V12 with hybrid technology for a combined output of 1,001 horsepower, it represents the next generation of the brand's flagship grand tourer. Alongside it, the Temerario made its presence known as a preview of where Lamborghini is taking its mid-engine lineup. GALLERY-EMBED Beyond the cars, the event leaned into what makes The Abbey at Aventura a distinct venue. Ten food and beverage partners were on hand, including Jarana Aventura, The Amalfi Llama, Tap 42, Toku, North Italia, and others, giving guests plenty of reason to stay, explore, and settle in. Six vendors from The Abbey Collective Market rounded out the retail experience, with everything from pottery to food tastings adding texture to what could have simply been a car show. The concept behind DRIVEN is worth noting. Rather than a traditional cars and coffee format, the series is designed to integrate automotive culture into a broader lifestyle experience, with an emphasis on access, community, and quality over scale. This inaugural gathering, timed to F1 Miami Grand Prix weekend, leaned into that approachable, community-first spirit. The follow-up event, scheduled for November 2026, will shift toward a more formal concours-style presentation. For a first outing, DRIVEN Cars & Coffee established its footing clearly. The cars were serious, the venue earned its place in the lineup, and South Florida showed up. November cannot come soon enough. First Look: Capricorn’s Lightweight, Analog 01 Zagato Hypercar Arrives in America

By Michael Van Runkle –  May 10, 2026

First Look: Capricorn’s Lightweight, Analog 01 Zagato Hypercar Arrives in America

Amid the broader hypercar industry, which largely relies on hybrid-electric drivetrains to produce massive power figures and all-wheel drive to tame such prodigious output, a growing movement aims to prioritize a return to old-school driver engagement. Rather than chasing stats on paper, this trend leverages modern materials and production methods to maximize the fun factor for lightweight, analog cars. Case in point, the new 01 Zagato from German materials manufacturer Capricorn, which boasts a carbon-fiber monocoque based on the Porsche 919 Le Mans racecar with a supercharged Ford V8 linked to a five-speed dogleg manual transmission.  Priced at 2.95 million euros ($3.4–3.5 million) before an expectedly extensive personalization process, Capricorn promises production will commence later in 2026. To drum up further anticipation, the firm brought its second running prototype to Beverly Hills for a Cars and Coffee meet at luxury and exotic dealer Marshall Goldman Beverly Hills. Capricorn hopes this new entrant to the hypercar world can blossom out of a long history as an automotive industry background player providing componentry for racing series, including F1, LMP1, WEC, WRC, and more. The firm’s facilities in Germany, France, and Italy—including a carbon-fiber plant at the Nürburgring—also contributed carbon fiber, aluminum, and titanium to road cars, including the Audi R8, Bugatti Veyron and Chiron, Porsche 918 Spyder, as well as the GT2, GT3, and GT3 RS, and Manthey Racing’s aerodynamics program. That expertise extends to full vehicle manufacturing, but never before on a car that will bear the company’s name. Switching that mentality required starting from scratch, while continuing partnerships with longtime industry leaders. “Being Germans, we know what we can do and what we cannot do,” Capricorn’s director of sales and relationships, John Sternheimer, told duPont Registry. “We could have designed a car, but having a coachbuilder like Zagato featuring the body on your car, it cannot get better. For the Ford engine, it's a great engine, it's super reliable, it has massive power, and it has a lot of reserves on it. And if you talk to people who own hypercars, what all of them don't like is high maintenance. No matter how much money you have, you don't want to pay $120,000 for every service. That's also a reason for this engine in the car. It’s serviceable like a supercar, not a hypercar, and that's a big difference nowadays.” In person, the 01 Zagato occupies much less space than expected. Nowhere near the size of a Bugatti Chiron, for example, the low-slung body even made a GT2 RS parked nearby in the showroom look bulky and cluttered. That alone sets Capricorn apart from the expanding footprints and aero profiles of both supercars and hypercars. A closer look at Zagato’s design reveals hints of the modern Ford GT and Lotus Emira, as well as the Lamborghini Miura and de Tomaso Pantera—all true highlights of automotive styling, in a futuristic yet timeless shape. The interior continues that theme with a simple and sparse melange of carbon, aluminum, and titanium. Simplicity dictated both functionality and ergonomics, as the seats actually bolt directly to the monocoque. Sternheimer stands over six feet tall and claimed that anyone up to 2.1 meters (six-foot-ten) should fit easily, because the pedals and steering column both move around the driver, rather than vice versa. This concept extends even to the gearshifter, in an industry first, which can scoot 80 millimeters (3.14 inches) fore and aft. The gated five-speed—with a manual reverse lockout—links to the 5.2-liter Ford Performance V8, which Capricorn then worked over with a rotating assembly, air intake, rotating assembly, supercharger, and ECU built in-house. Total output claimed at 888 horsepower with a redline set at 9,000 rpm sounds reasonable versus the Mustang GTD's 815 ponies and 7,650 rpm, especially after slotting the shifter into neutral, depressing the clutch pedal, and cranking the engine over. In a glass showroom, the Capristo exhaust blared and rumbled, emitting glorious pops and bangs of overrun after just a few nudges into the throttle. Supercharger whining seemingly inches from the driver’s skull, ripping that shifter up and down through the gates, all in a rear-wheel-drive mid-engined coupe that weighs just 2,650 pounds dry—the 01 Zagato sounds hardcore, with Capricorn’s Nürburgring heritage on full display, including an inboard pushrod suspension setup by Bilstein. And yet, this is more than just a track car. The carbon-fiber frunk can hold up to 120 liters of luggage, nearly equal to a modern Porsche 911, and a four-axle lift reduces fears of scraping all that precious carbon fiber. This running and driving prototype will receive a few revisions before production commences, including redesigned gauges with an integrated reverse camera and brakes that switch from Brembo to AP Racing. Capricorn plans to build just 19 examples, a figure chosen in honor of the founding of Zagato on April 19, 1919. Only a handful of allocations remain, though this first step from Capricorn will eventually lead to a spider variant limited to a slightly more accessible 91 units. As with so many hypercars, exclusivity enhances the desirability—yet comparison to the competition matters just as much in the overall appeal. Sternheimer believes Capricorn chose to step out from the shadows at the perfect opportunity, still something of a unique proposition even as the analog craze builds. <- Gallery -> “We believe the time was right to not chase horsepower as a lot of competitors do,” he said. “I like to use a quote, ‘The best cars have already been built, with one exception.’ So we’re bringing back what people really enjoy. No hybrid, no electric, a lightweight, fun-to-drive car that sounds amazing, that also will look amazing in 20 years from now.” View All Supercars and Exotic Cars For Sale  Images: Michael Van Runkle

CASH & ROCKET Closes Out Its 2026 U.S. Car Tour in Miami

CASH & ROCKET Closes Out Its 2026 U.S. Car Tour in Miami

Thirty luxury sports cars rolling through Charleston in formation is a difficult thing to ignore. That image opened CASH & ROCKET's second U.S. Car Tour, a four-day philanthropic drive through the American Southeast that wrapped in Miami on April 26. Founded in 2011 by Julie Brangstrup, CASH & ROCKET operates as a fundraising platform and global network of women committed to charitable giving. The organization now counts more than 2,800 members worldwide. Its annual tours have become a fixture on the philanthropic calendar, pairing high-end automotive culture with on-the-ground community impact. The 2026 U.S. edition ran April 23 through 26, moving through Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, Palm Beach, and Miami. Charleston set the tone. After an orientation at The Cooper Hotel, the convoy headed to Middleton Place before returning to line Tobacco Street for the evening. The night's fundraising soirée, held in partnership with Astrea London, benefited Impact Charleston, a nonprofit focused on youth mentorship and education. Among those in attendance were several cast members from Southern Charm, Olympic equestrian Mathilda Karlsson, entrepreneur Rachel "Rocky" Barnes, and singer Jackie Cruz, who performed live to close the event. GALLERY-EMBED Savannah was quieter by design. The convoy passed through in the morning, and the group gathered for a private waterfront lunch before pushing on to Jacksonville, where Brangstrup led a panel discussion on investment and opportunity in Dubai, joined by speakers from Dubai Economy and Tourism and UK Sotheby's International Realty. Palm Beach brought the tour's wellness programming to the foreground. A Pilates session at The Palm House Hotel opened the day before the evening shifted focus to fundraising, with a soirée benefiting Style Saves, a Florida nonprofit that provides essential goods to youth and families, and Sumbandila, which supports students in South Africa through scholarships and mentorship. UBS International's Catherine Lapadula spoke during the event. The tour finished in Miami, where the fleet arrived in the Design District and turned NE 41st Street into a public car display. The evening concluded at The Moore Club with a soirée benefiting Style Saves, closing out the tour's fundraising programming. Cruz performed again, joined by Liset Alea, The Hornies, and Kate Ozz. "From the moment we rolled into Charleston to our Grand Finale in Miami, every mile reminded us why we do this," said Brangstrup. CASH & ROCKET has raised over $6.6 million since its founding and is targeting $15 million by 2030. For 2026, the organization has two tours on the calendar: this one in the U.S. and one in Spain this fall, culminating in Madrid. The fall event will run September 10-13th, with the route being from Marbella to Madrid for the first-ever Formula 1 event. Learn More About Cash & Rocket

CoinPayments Marks New duPont REGISTRY Alliance During Miami Race Week

CoinPayments Marks New duPont REGISTRY Alliance During Miami Race Week

Three days after announcing a landmark partnership with duPont REGISTRY Group, CoinPayments brought the momentum into race week with a private gathering on the 55th floor of Aston Martin Residences in Miami. The invite-only event, held on the evening of May 1 and co-hosted with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team and Glenfiddich, drew roughly 100 guests from across the worlds of motorsport, media, and luxury automotive. The April 28 announcement had set the context: CoinPayments, a global digital payments infrastructure provider, will power stablecoin transaction capabilities within the newly redesigned duPont REGISTRY digital marketplace. duPontREGISTRY.com lists more than 120,000 luxury vehicles annually, representing over $25 billion in inventory, and the integration is aimed at reducing friction in high-value transactions while opening the marketplace to a broader base of digitally-native, high-net-worth buyers. It was the kind of deal that warranted a proper introduction, and race week in Miami provided a fitting stage. Ali Rafi, Group CEO of CoinPayments, opened the evening with a welcome address before joining a panel alongside Alex Alexandrov, owner of CoinPayments, Antoine Tessier, CEO of duPont REGISTRY Group, and Finbar McFall, Global Marketing Director at Aston Martin. The discussion centered on the convergence of digital payments and the luxury sector, and the dynamic between Tessier and Rafi gave guests an unfiltered look at the thinking behind the alliance. McFall's presence added the motorsport dimension, reflecting the shared audience that connects Aston Martin, CoinPayments, and duPont REGISTRY's respective communities. The Q&A session with Jess Hawkins, Aston Martin F1 Academy driver, rounded out the evening's programming. Hawkins took questions directly from the audience in a format that felt more like a conversation than a press appearance, which guests responded to. For anyone who follows the F1 Academy closely, the access was a genuine draw. The evening worked because the pieces fit together logically. CoinPayments is in the early stages of its return to the U.S. market following a strategic re-entry in late 2025, and the duPont REGISTRY partnership represents a clear statement of direction for the luxury sector. Hosting the event alongside Aston Martin during one of the year's most high-profile race weekends put all of that in the right room. The initial rollout of stablecoin capabilities across select marketplace transactions is expected to begin within the next few months, with additional phases to follow. GALLERY-EMBED

Czinger Miami Unveils One-Off 21C VMax in "Royal Venom" at DRIVEN at The Abbey

Czinger Miami Unveils One-Off 21C VMax at DRIVEN at The Abbey

On the morning of Saturday, May 2, 2026, beneath the promenades of The Abbey at Aventura, the inaugural edition of DRIVEN at The Abbey announced itself with the kind of moment that defines a marquee event. As the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix weekend ignited South Florida, a partnership of three premier brands, Turnberry Associates, duPont REGISTRY Group, and Prestige Imports, opened the doors on a new luxury automotive lifestyle series at the open-air destination adjacent to Aventura Mall. The morning's centerpiece, a one-of-one Czinger 21C VMax revealed by Czinger Miami, ensured the debut would not be forgotten. GALLERY-EMBED Finished in a bespoke hue named "Royal Venom," the hypercar emerged against the contemporary architecture of Aventura. The shade, drawn from Czinger's Liquid series, is a deep purple applied in successive layers to coax forth a pearlescent finish that shifts dramatically with every angle of light. The colorway is a deliberate homage to the original Divergent Blade, the very first demonstrator of Czinger's Bio-Logic engineered components and the genesis of everything that followed. What truly distinguishes this 21C VMax, however, lies just beneath its skin. This commission stands as the only 21C ever produced with its Bio-Logic components anodized in gold, a quietly spectacular flourish that elevates the car's structural artistry into the realm of fine jewelry. Gilded threads run throughout the cockpit as well, where rich purple leathers and contrast stitching are paired with hand-finished detailing in tonal harmony. Satin champagne anodization carries the theme outward, gracing the interior trim, select engine bay and subframe components, and the bespoke two-piece carbon wheels. Each surface has been considered as part of a single, sweeping design narrative. This depth of personalization was executed inside Area 21, Czinger's bespoke commissioning sanctum, where every element of the machine is curated into a singular, irreplaceable expression of the owner's vision. GALLERY-EMBED That owner is RLS Collection, whose stewardship of this 21C VMax adds a singular chapter to one of America's most discerning private collections. The car represents one of only 80 examples that will ever exist across the entire 21C production run. For DRIVEN at The Abbey, the reveal was nothing less than a statement of intent. The series was conceived to redefine collector culture in Miami by uniting placemaking, hospitality, and the world's most evocative machinery. By staging this unveiling at its inaugural gathering, Turnberry, duPont REGISTRY, and Prestige Imports made plain that DRIVEN intends to be the marquee setting for moments collectors will recount for years to come. Its connection to the renowned Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este reinforces its standing within the global concours calendar. Both events belong to the Villa d’Este Hotels – La Collezione portfolio, offering complementary perspectives: Lake Como honors pre-war and historic automobiles, while Florence celebrates the modern era’s most influential creations. At the heart of the weekend is the competition itself, where a panel of distinguished judges from the worlds of design, art, heritage, and sport will evaluate each entry. The coveted Villa La Massa Golden Cup remains the ultimate prize, alongside the People’s Choice award and the distinctive Future Choice accolade – selected by a jury of children and teenagers, underscoring the event’s commitment to cultivating the next generation of automotive tastemakers. New for 2026, the program expands beyond the concours lawn with a parade at the legendary Mugello Circuit. Scheduled for Sunday, this dynamic addition brings these extraordinary machines onto the track, blending elegance with performance in a setting synonymous with Italian motorsport passion. Yet, as with any truly exceptional gathering, the experience extends far beyond the cars. Guests are immersed in a world of elevated hospitality, from the manicured gardens and Medici-era architecture of Villa La Massa to a gala dinner and awards ceremony hosted at Palazzo Portinari Salviati. Here, automotive excellence meets culinary artistry and cultural sophistication in equal measure. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, Villa La Massa itself is central to the event’s allure. With just 54 rooms and suites spread across six villas, a ten-hectare riverside park, and a wellness offering that includes the Arno SPA housed within ancient wine cellars, it delivers an intimate, highly curated environment tailored to an elite international audience. As Villa La Massa Excellence continues to evolve, it reinforces its position as a defining platform for modern collector cars – where craftsmanship, performance, and luxury converge. In doing so, it offers not just a concours, but a fully realized lifestyle experience, one that captures the enduring appeal of the supercar era in its most refined form.

Pure McLaren Experience: Ice Drifting Above The Arctic Circle

By Michael Van Runkle –  April 26, 2026

Pure McLaren Experience: Ice Drifting Above The Arctic Circle

Well into morning, snow crystals floating in the frigid Lapland air create a kaleidoscopic ring around the moon known as the 22-degree halo. We’re at 68° 37’ 30” North, about 200 miles above the Arctic Circle, still awaiting sunrise at 9:30 am as a multicolored fleet of McLaren Artura supercars warm up next to a cozy lodge. Frigid is no exaggeration here; the cars need to get temp in their fluids but also for the drivers, since the day’s forecast to crest in just the low double digits – but that will be in six hours or so from now, before the sun starts to set again at 3 pm. Reaching Northern Finland from Los Angeles requires a long travel itinerary, but I happily made such a journey to join the Pure McLaren Arctic Experience, a multi-day customer adventure condensed into a brief program for media consumption. Shrinking the schedule, therefore, meant hours on end sliding supercars around sideways on a frozen lake, bookended by delicious meals of reindeer and arctic char cooked over the hearth, long nights under the northern lights, and even a morning of husky dog sledding out in the snow-covered woods. My dedicated instructor for the ice driving portion of the adventure, Charlie Hollings, boasts 15 years of experience with McLaren. That’s on top of a professional racing pedigree spanning everything from GT cars to LMP1 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, though he wound up spending most of our day together in the far more comfortable passenger seat of a Tokyo Cyan Artura. Since McLaren so far eschewed the option for an all-wheel-drive model, I figured rear-wheel drive and up to 691 horsepower should make for quite the handful on the ice. The ice itself measures just shy of 28 inches thick – which might sound insubstantial but can somehow support a pair of nine-ton tractors tasked with scraping snow about and rescuing any stuck cars. So nothing to worry about for a 3,303-pound Artura as Hollings and I explored a total of 16 tracks in various lengths and configurations, plus two dedicated donut circles and one dynamic straightaway. Customers usually build up slowly, a half-hour on and a half-hour off, starting out with basic drills to master throttle and brake modulation, countersteering, and vision on the slippery surface. Depending on driver experience and confidence, trying a few laps with McLaren’s ESC programming fully on or in Dynamic mode may also fit into the mix. Hollings pushed me through the easier portions of the program after recognizing my prior experience, though, so soon enough, with all the electronic nannies turned off, that Artura started absolutely screaming up near redline in second gear as we romped around the ice. At first, the decision to bring a fleet of Arturas out to Lapland sounds questionable. Why not the more potent 750S? Especially given potential struggles as the high-performance hybrid system deals with such cold temperatures…. But this hybrid’s instantaneous electric response actually helps with ice driving, thanks to slightly more linear power delivery than a big twin-turbo V8 in a 750S that might need more time to build up turbo boost and kick the rear tires out. So, the day becomes more about sensing mid-mounted mass, steering into slides, swinging the tail end out in a pendulum motion that eventually hooks back up and launches out onto straights. The speeds actually surprised me for a rear-wheel-drive car, too, mostly thanks to using studded tires. A McLaren rep told me each tire on the Artura used 180 studs, but I tried to count on one, and by my math, the number looked closer to 250 or even 300. The impressive grip increases the pace out on the lake, but also the predictability and steering feedback, which become ever so slightly more similar to driving at track speed on tarmac—or maybe wet asphalt. Weather comes into play, naturally, so throughout a day with less snowpack and mostly exposed ice on the main circuits, I needed to relearn how to spot traction. As my confidence built, throttle and braking inputs grew smoother, the best indication of improved performance was my hands steadily slowing down on the steering wheel. Hollings walked me quickly up through the various training circuits. A little squiggly loop called “Caterpillar” (for obvious reasons) probably emerged as my favorite, with steady and consistent left-right-left (and vice versa) transitions. Flicking the weight transfer from side to side using mostly the throttle and brake pedals then set me up for success at the higher speeds coming later in the day, which only ups the ante – and the risk of sliding out onto a low layer of unkempt snow maybe six to eight inches deep.  <- Gallery -> One reassuring mantra of the day: “Everybody Spins.” For automakers, winter driving provides a perfect format for testing vehicle dynamics, electronic traction aid programming, and low-temp mechanical performance. For the drivers, it’s just a wonderful place to play at the limit, go past that line, and not need to worry about damaging cars. A rear-wheel-drive supercar will get stuck easily, but only from beaching up on the snow. Later in the day, the circuits grew increasingly challenging. More decreasing radius turns that required a hard stab at the brakes to initiate rotation, then a hit of oversteer and perfect timing for holding gentle throttle through a counterintuitive moment of peaceful patience, trusting the Artura’s weight to swing around, then finally punching out at a sharp angle. I struggled to find a happy balance between the drifty fun line and more of a rally racing style, which requires cutting down the corners and keeping as straight as possible. Hollings demonstrated immense patience as I worked all day, my preconceived notions of ice driving from prior programs adapting now to the ice, the tires, and the McLaren’s incredible capability. Toward the end of the day, out on the farthest course that measures over three kilometers long, the wind picked up noticeably. This didn’t help the temps feel any warmer approaching sunset, but also blew snow into little banks and drifts, creating inconsistent and variable traction levels that even my 20-15 vision struggled to spot in the flat Arctic light. This brought on a new level of focus that elevates the pulse, Hollings and I hollering out pace notes to each other in the rush, and I can admit to beaching the Artura once (but only needing a quick yank from a van, not one of the tractors). Despite the hilarity of taking such a low-slung supercar ice drifting, the Artura performed more than admirably the whole day. The suspension damping, courtesy of that hydraulic roll control system, gobbled up the surprisingly choppy frozen lake surface with aplomb. Which only accentuated the telepathic steering wheel in my hand, the racecar-esque brake pedal at my left foot, and the visibility out the side windows of a compact yet reasonably spacious cockpit while barreling along at full opposite-lock. The McLarens also handled the full day’s thrashing without fuss, and really only get sad if left stuck in the cold snow for extended periods awaiting a tow. After leaving the lake behind, we then tested our own ability to handle cold weather with a quick stint of nighttime ice karting. Tiny little rental karts proved surprisingly difficult to manage on a mini track just 570 meters long (1,870 feet) with an unexpected amount of elevation change. Minuscule tires, terrible steering, inconsistent brake and throttle response all made for utterly laugh-out-loud chaos. And certainly revealed – in retrospect – how miraculously a predictable supercar handles snow and ice. Still, condensing a three-day customer experience into one while battling a bit of jetlag sure led to exhaustion. I happily returned to our headquarters at the spectacularly modern and welcoming Jávri Lodge ready for some hot tea, hoping to squeeze in a quick sauna before dinner and, in an ideal world, a good night’s sleep in the deep silence of snow-covered tundra. The next morning, I awoke feeling modest aftereffects from the long day on the lake, mostly in my forearms and shoulders from working the steering wheel all day (and night on the ice karting track). Time for a piping cup of coffee – or two, and quick – because sled dogs awaited. These incredible Husky breeds, none of which resemble each other but all of which seemed raring to race across the crisp, snowy meadow, can run up to 40 miles per day. Or up to 100 miles a day in competitions such as the Iditarod, though we stuck with a restrained and relatively quick five-kilometer loop. Somewhat hilariously, McLaren’s Product Manager Max Hunt pointed out that six dogs pulling a sled produce around 1.5 horsepower. At 18 to 27 kg each (40-60 pounds), the whole team weighs a bit more than the Artura’s lightweight hybrid system, including the batteries, that nonetheless produces just shy of 66 times the output. Unlike the Artura, though, the dogsled provides much less in the way of driver control other than braking with sharp spikes that dig into the snow. I put my trust in the team, breathing deeply in the bracing cold, reveling in the sound of silence as the sled skids glissaded across the snow, a peaceful reverie interrupted only by occasional overexcited yelping from the dogs. Soon enough, our 5K came to an end, so we ducked back into a steaming lodge to huddle around the fire and sip another cup of piping hot coffee. And maybe, to daydream of another two days out on the lake, manhandling a McLaren as best I can manage. View All McLarens For Sale Images: McLaren
