First 2022 GMC Hummer EV Shocks Everyone at Barrett-Jacks...

The Most Powerful Hummer Is Also The Most Valuable Our annual After Party at the W Scottsdale was the talk of the town, but the other big news was generated by GM. In order to support the Tunnel to Towers foundation, the first 2022 GMC Hummer EV shocked everyone at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale. VIN 001 is an Edition 1, and it will arrive loaded with 1,000 horsepower/ 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Not only is it capable of crab walking and Extract Mode, perhaps the best feature is "Watts To Freedom". WTF unlocks full power and drops the ride by 2" to reach 60 mph in 3 seconds. The foundation serves to build mortgage-free homes to veterans and first responders, and this created a bidding frenzy. With a hammer price of $2.5 million, it is easily the most valuable Hummer of all time. Playing second fiddle are the first versions of the Cadillac CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwing that generated $430,000 for Pharrell's Black Ambition program. If you have never experienced a capable American 4WD, the Hummer H1 price and specs are a great place to start. Click the button to find one near you and stay with us for all your Hummer news. RM Sotheby's Sees Success in Arizona as First Live Auctio...

Presented by RM Sotheby's - On Friday, 22 January, RM Sotheby’s kicked off its 2021 auction calendar with the company’s 22nd annual Arizona auction, held this year at the OTTO Car Club in Scottsdale with limited, by appointment only in-person attendance, achieving $35,065,900 in total sales with 90 percent of all lots finding new homes. The one-day auction saw bidders from 35 countries around the world bidding in the room and via phone and internet. The undoubted star of the auction was a highly original 1955 Jaguar D-Type with substantial period race history, which sold to a bidder on the phone for a final $6,000,000. Wrapped in Red with an interior trimmed to match, the car was one of a very small number of D-Types to be so finished when new. Purchased new from Bernie Ecclestone by British racer Peter Blond and retaining many of its original components today, the well-documented example goes to its new caretaker as a worthy candidate for vintage competition at the highest and most prestigious levels. 1955 Jaguar D-Type 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Tourer by Corsica The second highest price achieved was an elegant and extremely rare 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Tourer by Corsica, one of eight examples bodied by the coachbuilder and just two examples in the four-seater configuration, which brought $4,735,000. Retaining its original chassis, engine, gearbox, differential, and body, the Bugatti came to the Arizona auction with known and fascinating ownership history, including time spent in the esteemed collections of Judge North and General Lyon. Additional pre-war classics also brought strong prices, including a CCCA Full Classic 1932 Cadillac V-16 Convertible Coupe by Fisher, one of 14 examples ever built, of which four survive today, and one of only a handful that were built with a factory rear-mounted spare, which surpassed its high estimate and went to a new home for $1,022,500; and a multi-award winning, CCCA Full Classic 1933 Packard Twelve Individual Custom Convertible Sedan by Dietrich, one of two extant and a completely numbers-matching example, which brought in $819,000. Top sales were also highlighted by several modern supercars, including a 2020 McLaren Speedtail, the first example of the marque’s most technologically advanced and fastest road car to sell at public auction. A masterpiece of automotive engineering with central driving position and three-seat configuration, the car was one of only 106 examples produced, paying tribute to the 106 McLaren F1s. Highly optioned by MSO and showing only 30 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloging, chassis no. 36 went to its next owner for $3,277,500. Additional well-sold supercars include a highly optioned 2019 McLaren Senna, the 95th of 500 examples produced and wearing Dramatic Visual Carbon Fiber bodywork, at $1,044,000; a desirable 2019 Ford GT ‘Lightweight’, a special option made available only to select applicants, which brought in $967,500; a 1993 Cizeta V16T, one of just nine examples completed and ordered new by the Royal Family of Brunei, which achieved $665,000; and an exclusive factory 1998 RUF Turbo R, extensively mechanically refreshed in October of 2020, which surpassed its high pre-sale estimate of $575,000 and sold for a final $764,000.   2019 McLaren Senna 2019 Ford GT 'Lightweight' - Automotive Photography by Deremer Studios, LLC Also claiming spots within the top ten were three highly sought-after 1950’s sports cars. Displayed at the 1954 New York World Motor Sports Show and 1954 Geneva Motor Show, the exclusive 1954 Ferrari 375 America Coupe by Vignale, one of just three examples bodied by the coachbuilder, sold for $2,557,000. The gran turismo came to the Arizona auction in its original and stunning burgundy and silver-grey finish over a beige interior and retaining its original 4.5-liter Lampredi V-12 engine. Another classic Ferrari, the 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Alloy Coupe by Boano, also caught bidders’ attention, selling for a final $1,352,500. One of just 14 alloy-bodied coupes produced by Carrozzeria Boano between 1956 and 1958, the Classiche-certified Ferrari went to its new owner equipped with its matching-numbers V-12 engine, gearbox, and differential and in exceptional restored condition. Rounding out the group, a delightful 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster presented in Light Green Metallic over dark green interior with a dark green convertible top sold for $1,066,500. 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Alloy Coupe by Boano “It was tremendous to start the year off on such a positive note given that we were the sole remaining auction company to host a live event for the annual Arizona weekend. In working with the local authorities and the capable team at OTTO, we were able to safely welcome clients back to the live auction format,” said Gord Duff, Global Head of Auctions, RM Sotheby’s. “Our team worked extremely hard to ensure that the auction preview and event itself provided a safe atmosphere for clients to inspect cars in-person. Additionally, we saw that the added benefit of our preparation which included thousands upon thousands of additional detailed photographs, condition reports and documentation on all cars all available to our clients in advance of the auction truly helped make those who weren’t there feel comfortable bidding, whether via telephone, internet or absentee. With a diverse top three leading the charge—a period-raced D-Type, a beautifully presented Bugatti Type 57SC with notable provenance, and the first Speedtail to be sold at public auction—this sale proved once again that best-of-category, top-quality cars of every era continue to draw significant interest from collectors and bring strong prices.”Top Ten Sales Lot 141 1955 Jaguar D-Type $6,000,000 Lot 150 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Tourer by Corsica $4,735,000 Lot 175 2020 McLaren Speedtail $3,277,500 Lot 162 1954 Ferrari 375 America Coupe by Vignale $2,557,000 Lot 143 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Alloy Coupe by Boano $1,352,500 Lot 138 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster $1,066,500 Lot 145 2019 McLaren Senna $1,044,000 Lot 134 1932 Cadillac V-16 Convertible Coupe by Fisher $1,022,500 Lot 132 2019 Ford GT 'Lightweight’ $967,500 Lot 168 1933 Packard Twelve Individual Custom Convertible Sedan by Dietrich $819,000 1954 Ferrari 375 America Coupe by Vignale RM Sotheby’s continues its 2021 auction calendar with the company’s first European auction of the year, set for 13 February in Paris. Cars & Coffee Palm Beach January 2020 Recap

Cars & Coffee Palm Beach, the world's largest monthly cars and coffee event, kicked off 2020 with a huge celebration at Palm Beach Outlets. The event, which is presented by Adam's Polishes with support from Off Lease Only and Blackout Coffee Co., attracted over 3100 display vehicles and more than 30,000 spectators who enjoyed cars, coffee, vendors, stores, giveaways, charities, and more. Highlights included: 1. Vanilla Ice (aka Robert Van Winkle) joined the Fast Muscle Cars of South Florida display to unveil his newly restored 5.0 Mustang from the original "Ice Ice Baby" video. Before the sun came up that morning, the star arrived with his iconic ride which had just completed a six figure restoration with Extreme Performance.   (Photo by Cars Computers Cameras) 2. Crowds drove from all over Florida and surrounding states to meet Vanilla Ice, see him "rolling in THE 5.0," and hear about his upcoming TV projects including Mystical Rides with Vanilla Ice, which debuts on History Channel later this year.   (Photo by Palm Beach Dyno)  3. It was pure star power plus art in motion as the Apollo IE Golden Dragon and Black Dragon hypercars drove into place on the Showcase Corner. The two of only 10 in the world came to Palm Beach as part of their U.S. tour. The look and sounds of their arrival were truly stunning.   (Photo by Mike Streltsov) 4. Adam's Polishes ensured that both Apollo masterpieces were sparkling clean in the Florida sun, as showgoers enjoyed the rare opportunity to see the Dragons together. Their carbon fiber and gold body, cockpit, and wheels were described by spectators as "out-of-this-world."   (Photo by Black & Yellow Photos)  5. The Apollo team spoke with countless enthusiasts, explained the hypercars' amazing details and design, and even took a few minutes to peruse duPont REGISTRY.   (Photo by Black & Yellow Photos) 6. From every angle, the Apollo IE Dragons were intensely aerodynamic, artistic, menacing, and mesmerizing.  (Photo by Tom Dowd)  7. Neil London and Supercar Week also assembled an array of jaw-dropping vehicles on the Showcase Corner, including a Bugatti Chiron owned by Tim & Christine Schmidt (aka Hapy Hipi & Ms Hipi).  (Photo by Norm Morton/Automobile Heaven)  8. One of the younger fans must have seen Hapy Hipi reading his copy of duPont REGISTRY and decided to do the same in his own mini Bugatti.  (Photo by Cars Computers Cameras) 9. Who says a caravan's lead car has to be boring? Hapy Hipi led his entourage with a show-stopping Rolls Royce Drophead.  (Photo by Norm Morton/Automobile Heaven) 10. Apollo's lead vehicle was also a major head-turner worthy of the cars it escorted into the event.  (Photo by Norm Morton/Automobile Heaven) 11. Speaking of leading the pack, three 2020 GT 500 Mustangs, including the certified fastest and quickest to date, arrived at the venue before dawn. With Palm Beach Dyno and Rarefab flags in tow, they certainly pleased showgoers with a need for speed.  (Photo by Cars Computers Cameras)  12. Of course, it's hard to find anything on wheels faster than the Larsen Motorsports jet cars. Their pre-dawn set-up included a classic Corvette with a jet engine, along with an interactive family area with fun, inspiring, and educational activities.  (Photo by TonyNap CAR-Tography)  13. Fortunately for the early risers, Blackout Coffee Co. is the Official Coffee Sponsor for Cars & Coffee Palm Beach 2020. The local, family-owned and operated roasting company made sure showgoers had free samples and lots of delicious coffee products to keep them energized throughout the morning.  (Photo by Keith Chisholm)  14. MLB Player Derek Dietrich, former Marlin and current Cincinnati Reds 2nd baseman, greeted fans in the duPont REGISTRY Exotics & Luxury Area and showed off his custom Audi R8.  (Photo by Cars & Coffee Palm Beach)  15. The world's leading electric skateboard company, Fiik, captured lots of attention with their electric boards and drifters, as well as a BMW i8 wrapped in Fiik logos.  (Photo by Black & Yellow Photos)  16. Over 385 custom, modified, and collector BMWs from all over Florida were in the house, thanks to Miguel Bimmer's BMW Invasion with co-hosts Florida Fine Cars, Off Lease Only, German Line Performance, Euromotive Performance, Orlando Bimmer Club, Miami Bimmer Club, and Tampa Bimmer Club.  (Photo by Florida Fine Cars)  17. TLM Racing headlined the BMW Feature Sidewalk with a couple of their fierce BMW race cars.  (Photo by TLM Racing)  18. Impressive German machines were everywhere you turned, including Bill Mazzoni's Carrera GT.  (Photo by Jason Fields)  19. A head-turning Ford GT added a little American flavor to the duPont REGISTRY Exotics Area's open parking section.  (Photo by Cars Computers Cameras)  20. Aston Martin Palm Beach and Jaguar Palm Beach represented British luxury at its finest in the duPont REGISTRY Exotics & Luxury Feature Area.  (Photo by Florida Fine Cars)  21. Of course, McLaren Palm Beach joined them at center stage with some of their latest and greatest supercar specs.  (Photo by Nolan Eusebio)    22. Even Land Rover Palm Beach got into the duPont REGISTRY spirit.  (Photo by Black & Yellow Photos)  23. Also showing spirit, Seminole Ridge JROTC Hawk Battalion recruited a few remarkable military vehicles for display as part of their fundraising efforts. Legendary 1941 Jeep Row joined their campaign to promote the group's local school, JROTC program, and important activities--which rely on public support for funding.  (Photo by Tom Dowd)  24. Not all camouflage was meant to hide, which some of the custom wraps proved quite well. As usual, 9automotion hosted an array of exciting Porsches, representing a huge variety of models, vintages, and customizations.  (Photo by Jason Fields)  25. Also in force in the duPont REGISTRY Exotics & Luxury Area were groups of Vipers and GTRs, each with impressive horsepower, growls, colors, and modifications.  (Photo by Tom Dowd)   26. There were so many vehicles in the duPont REGISTRY Area that some like the "Venom" Viper double-parked in front of Nick's Tune-Ups & Towels and My Hope Health--both very welcoming places to park!  (Photo by Jason Fields)  27. Once parked, many vehicle owners and passengers took some time to flip through the complimentary copies of duPont REGISTRY Magazine.  (Photos by Cars Computers Cameras)  28. Naturally, squads of Lamborghinis were quite the distraction for the majority of showgoers, but isn't that why they come to the event in the first place?  (Photo by Richard Mason Hughes)   29. duPont REGISTRY Cars & Coffee January 2020

Our first show of the new year was spent with dozens of clients and thousands of friends. It was my 100th time working this show since August of 2011, and undoubtedly the best January weather in over a decade. Since it coincided with the Scottsdale auctions, we had to improvise to keep the experience organized, and we couldn't have done it without our clients: Dimmit Automotive McLaren Tampa Lamborghini Sarasota Paddock 1 European Exotic Center Tuscany Motor Company Ferman Auto Group It wouldn't be Cars & Coffee without the hot brew, so we have to give a big thanks to the Banyan Odessey. They are based in Largo, Florida, and their goal is to create opportunities and a community for the handi-capable. If you couldn't make it out, you missed a brilliant replica of the 1965 Ford GT. Two Hummers who saw action overseas looked ready to fight, from their comm systems to the 50 Cal. Brownings. Tuscany's new Badlander outmaneuvered them to take the high ground. Tell us your favorite in the comments below, and we'll see you next month! See More Photos Here! " width="680">
