The Best Luxury Convertibles For Sale

There’s no doubt that automotive enthusiasts view driving as something more meaningful than simply getting from Point A to Point B. However, there’s nothing quite like the experience of driving a convertible with the top down when it comes to turning a drive into an indulgent experience. Manufacturers throughout the industry have created convertible models over the years, catering to luxury, performance, or often, both. If you’re looking for a luxury or high-performance convertible, duPont REGISTRY is the first place you should look, as the source for supercars since 1985. With a wide inventory of convertible cars for sale, including Rolls-Royce convertibles, BMW convertibles, Mercedes-Benz convertibles for sale, and more. Take a look at some of our favorite convertible cars for sale below, or click below to see all luxury and exotic cars for sale. Currently, brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, and more offer convertibles. However, even more manufacturers sold convertibles in the past that are now on the second-hand market. Is a hard-top or soft-top convertible better? That depends on your driving needs. Hard top convertibles are often chosen for performance-focused enthusiasts who may want to drive their car at a track day. In addition, soft top convertibles were long considered a compromise, not offering the structural rigidity and noise reduction of a coupe, and hard-top convertibles offered a solution by being closer to their coupe counterparts. However, soft-top convertibles offer more compact and quicker folding, added style from different fabric roof options, and have evolved to offer greater structural rigidity, performance capability, and noise insulation than before.

Elferspot Spotlight: 996 GT3 Clubsport, 959 Komfort and Carrera 3.0 Backdate

This week’s Elferspot selection leans hard toward cars you’d actually want to drive. There’s a one-owner 996.2 GT3 Clubsport that has just been through a long list of Porsche Centre maintenance, a 959 Komfort showing about 13,000 kilometers after a mechanical refresh by Bruce Canepa, and a Signal Yellow Carrera 3.0 backdate whose engine and drivetrain go well past what the bodywork suggests. The common thread is the recent work. A badge tells you what a car was when it left the factory. The service history, the specialist work and the dyno sheet tell you what it is today, and all three of these cars have plenty to say. 2004 Porsche 911 GT3 Clubsport in Carrara White GALLERY-EMBED You won’t find one spectacular option on this GT3. The appeal is in how much lines up at once. It’s a 2004 Clubsport in Carrara White over black fabric with a single ownership entry, no accident history and 54,256 kilometers on the clock, and it pairs the six-speed manual and rear-wheel drive with PCCB. Porsche sharpened the GT3 considerably for the 996.2. For 2003, output rose to 381 PS, the rev limit went to 8,200 rpm, and PCCB became available on the GT3 for the first time. The Clubsport package then added a bolt-in roll cage and further safety equipment, which draws a direct line from this road car to Porsche’s GT3 competition program. The maintenance is what makes this one ready to use. Porsche Centre Vaughan lists the 90,000-kilometer service, new ignition coils, transmission maintenance, front inner tie rods, a four-wheel alignment, new tires and fresh PCCB pads. If I were buying a 996 GT3 to drive, that’s the kind of list I’d want to see. A Manthey short shifter has been fitted, and the car currently runs an aftermarket exhaust, but the original system is included for anyone who wants to return it to stock. Porsche Centre Vaughan in Ontario is asking USD 142,900. View Listing 1987 Porsche 959 Komfort With Recent Canepa Work GALLERY-EMBED Every 959 is rare, and Porsche built just 292 series-production examples. What sets this one apart is roughly 13,000 kilometers and a recent mechanical refresh by Bruce Canepa that ran past USD 95,000. It’s a matching-numbers, accident-free Komfort in Silver Metallic 980 over Dark Grey Metallic leather, with the 959’s characteristic tri-color seat inserts. According to the listing, the car was delivered new to Japan and came into the United States in 2003 under the federal “Show or Display” exemption. Canepa’s work in late 2024 included the installation of manually adjustable coilover suspension. That’s worth a pause, since the 959’s adjustable suspension was part of what put it so far ahead of its time. The good news is that every original component removed during the work comes with the car, so the next owner gets to decide. The rest of the specification still explains why Porsche treated the 959 as a rolling development program. Its 2.85-liter M959/50 flat-six uses four-valve cylinder heads and sequential twin turbochargers to make 450 PS, which goes through a six-speed manual and Porsche’s electronically controlled PSK all-wheel-drive system. ABS and extensive use of lightweight materials put it years ahead of most road cars of its day. For me, though, the Canepa work is the real hook. It separates this example from a 959 that has spent decades sitting in a collection. Hatch Motors is asking USD 2,600,000. View Listing 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 Backdate With a Rusnak-Built Engine GALLERY-EMBED Signal Yellow and a ducktail do most of the talking from across the lot. Get closer, though, and this 1977 Carrera 3.0 backdate has a lot more going on than its RS-inspired looks let on. The car was originally Light Yellow and has been refinished in Signal Yellow, with a steel long hood, early lighting and bodywork built around its original Carrera 3.0 rear flares. The engine is the real story. Rusnak Air-Cooled built the replacement 3.0-liter 930/10 flat-six in 2018 and 2019, with Weber 46 IDA carburetors, custom camshafts, 9.5:1 CP pistons and MSD ignition. On the dyno it made a documented 221 hp and 199 lb-ft. Behind it sits a 915 five-speed manual with an OS Giken limited-slip differential and a Sachs clutch, and stainless headers feed a Dansk sport muffler. Green Bilstein dampers, rebuilt front brakes and staggered Fuchs take care of the rest. Inside, the rear seats are gone, and fixed-back buckets, an early-style dashboard, an RSR steering wheel, silver-button instruments and Sportex rally timers set the tone. The paperwork is strong, with a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, extensive service records, the dyno sheet and 2026 compression-test results. Go in clear-eyed on one point, though. Total mileage is unknown, the odometer shows around 1,300 miles and the title carries a non-actual odometer notation. This is a developed driver’s car rather than a factory-original collector piece, and judged on those terms, it’s a strong one. Pinnacle Motorgroup in College Station, Texas, is asking USD 157,500. Licensed to Thrill: The Aston Martin DB12 Goldfinger Edition For Sale

The Aston Martin DB12 Goldfinger Edition belongs firmly in the latter category. Created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the iconic 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger, this extraordinary grand tourer celebrates one of cinema's most enduring automotive partnerships. With production strictly limited to just 60 examples worldwide, it represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of Aston Martin and 007 history. Available through Grand Touring Automobiles, Canada's largest hypercar dealership, this exclusive creation brings six decades of British sophistication, cinematic heritage, and bespoke craftsmanship together in one remarkable automobile. A Tribute to an Icon Few cars have achieved the cultural significance of the Aston Martin DB5, immortalized alongside Sean Connery in Goldfinger. Six decades later, Aston Martin's bespoke personalization division, Q by Aston Martin, has reimagined that legendary relationship through a contemporary masterpiece. Finished in the unmistakable Silver Birch paint made famous by the original DB5, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition commands attention without demanding it. Distinctive 21-inch multi-spoke wheels with a diamond-turned finish, bespoke gold side strakes, and exclusive enamel badging create an unmistakable presence. Every detail has been carefully considered, balancing modern design with an unmistakable nod to the past. Where Luxury Meets Intrigue Step inside, and the Goldfinger Edition reveals its most captivating secrets. The Sports Plus seats feature classic DB5-inspired fluting and an elegant Prince of Wales check perforation pattern, paying tribute to James Bond's impeccable tailoring. The distinctive pattern continues throughout the cabin, appearing on the door inserts, headliner, and specially etched treadplates. Exquisite 18-karat gold-plated interior accents adorn the rotary controls, while genuine gold metal fibers woven into the carbon fiber trim introduce another layer of craftsmanship. Perhaps the most intriguing detail is the embroidered eight of hearts playing card concealed on the driver's sun visor, a subtle reference to the memorable Miami poolside card game in Goldfinger. These aren't simply decorative elements. They're carefully curated connections to a cinematic legacy that has captivated generations. An Extraordinary Opportunity With only 60 examples produced worldwide, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition transcends the ordinary definition of a luxury grand tourer. It is a celebration of heritage, individuality, and the enduring appeal of one of the world's most recognizable automotive names. For discerning enthusiasts and collectors seeking something truly exceptional, Grand Touring Automobiles offers access to an automobile where exclusivity meets extraordinary craftsmanship. Because some legends deserve more than a place in history, they deserve a place in your collection. View Price and Listing GALLERY-EMBED

$600K BAC Mono Roadster Listed For Sale

Some sports cars are engineered to deliver race-derived performance while still looking and feeling like something you could drive every day. BAC (Briggs Automotive Company) takes a different approach, building its flagship Mono around the idea of a road-legal race car, right down to its single-seat, open-wheel layout. And while crossing paths with one in the wild is rare in itself, finding a completed build on the market is next to impossible. The team at Limited Spec of Miami, FL, is proud to showcase this 2023 BAC Mono Roadster as part of its extensive inventory of exotics for sale on duPont REGISTRY. From the outside, the Mono is definitely unmistakable. This example is finished in white and red with exposed matte carbon fiber aero, with the bodywork wrapped tightly around the car’s mechanics. The open front end exposes the suspension, while the compact body and single-seat layout give it the proportions of something built for a circuit. This particular Mono Roadster has also covered just 835 miles. The same idea carries into the cockpit, where there really isn’t much beyond what the driver needs. The single seat sits in the center of the car, surrounded by carbon fiber and a compact arrangement of controls and displays. There’s no passenger seat, center console, or unnecessary trim taking up space, which is pretty much the point. Everything is positioned around the person behind the wheel, giving the Mono a cockpit that feels much closer to a race car than any daily driver on the road.Power comes from a naturally aspirated 2.5L four-cylinder engine mounted behind the driver. It produces around 315 horsepower and sends that power to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox. BAC also uses a dry-sump lubrication system and individual throttle bodies, while the car's low weight is arguably just as important as its power output. At roughly 1,257 pounds, the Mono doesn't need a huge engine to move quickly. That combination puts the 2023 BAC Mono in a fairly unusual place among the modern performance car market. It can reach 60 mph in around 2.7 seconds, but its appeal isn't really about chasing the biggest horsepower figure. The low weight, central driving position, open cockpit, and relatively simple mechanical layout are what separate it from most of the cars you'll find in the supercar section of the classifieds. And with less than a thousand miles on this example, the Mono currently listed on duPont REGISTRY has spent considerably more time sitting still than most likely ever will. View Price & Listing

Elferspot Spotlight: Boxster 25 Years, 993 Turbo and 356 Carrera GT

The range on Elferspot is exceptionally broad this week. At the accessible end, there’s a Boxster 25 Years with a manual gearbox and just 6,699 miles. At the other sits a 1959 356 A Carrera GT, a road-registerable competition car from the years when Porsche was still working out what a GT car should be. In between is a Glacier White 993 Turbo carrying the factory upgrade to 430 PS. As usual, we’ve kept the history to what explains each car. The interesting part is the specification of the individual example, and all three have one worth talking about. 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster 25 Years With a Six-Speed Manual GALLERY-EMBED If you remember how Porsche presented the Boxster 25 Years at launch, this one will look familiar. It wears the anniversary model’s signature combination of GT Silver Metallic paint, Bordeaux Red leather, a matching red fabric roof and Neodyme-colored exterior details. Those colors deliberately reference the 1993 Boxster concept, so the car reads as a 25 Years from across a parking lot without needing an unusual Paint to Sample choice. The part enthusiasts will care about most is the gearbox. This example has the six-speed manual rather than PDK. Because the 25 Years was based on the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0, the manual is paired with the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six, rated at 394 hp in US specification and driving the rear wheels. PASM Sport suspension and Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanical limited-slip differential were standard. Porsche built 1,250 of these worldwide, and a manual car is the version I’d want. The options lean toward grand touring. The Premium Package brings ventilated seats, BOSE Surround Sound, Porsche Entry & Drive, Lane Change Assist and the Light Design Package, and the car also has power-folding mirrors, Power Steering Plus and body-colored supplemental safety bars. Front paint-protection film is already on. As for the odometer, 6,699 miles is low enough to matter to a collector but not so low that you’d feel guilty adding a few more. West Coast Exotic Cars in Murrieta, California, is asking USD 124,990. View Listing 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo WLS1 in Glacier White GALLERY-EMBED Glacier White over black leather is about as understated as a 993 Turbo gets, and at 14,732 miles, this one is unusually clean before you even reach the important line on the spec sheet. That line reads 430 PS. It’s Porsche’s factory WLS1 power upgrade, and it’s what separates this car from an already special group. The 993 Turbo brought two major changes to the Turbo line at once: twin turbochargers and permanent all-wheel drive. Porsche initially rated the 3.6-liter flat-six at 408 PS, then began offering a factory performance upgrade to 430 PS from the 1996 model year. Those extra 22 PS mattered at the top end. In period, the WLS Turbo was even faster flat out than the contemporary 430-PS GT2, with Porsche quoting 297 km/h, or about 185 mph. Everything else is classic 993 Turbo, including the six-speed manual and all-wheel drive. A standard car is already one of the defining Porsches of the final air-cooled generation. The factory upgrade narrows the field considerably, and the color and mileage make this a car for the collector who prefers quiet. Ryan Friedman Motor Cars in Glen Cove, New York, has it listed with price on application, so you’ll need to make a call. View Listing 1959 Porsche 356 A Carrera GT in Ruby Red GALLERY-EMBED Ruby Red over black sounds almost conventional for a 356. Then you get to the aluminum panels and the four-cam engine. This 1959 356 A Carrera GT was delivered new in Europe and is presented in its original Ruby Red 5702/Reutter 702 color configuration, and its Kardex file comes with the car. Lightness was the whole idea. Porsche used aluminum for the doors, front hood and engine lid, fitted lightweight alloy wheels and Perspex windows, and swapped the usual window mechanisms for simple leather straps. Bucket seats and thin felt carpeting followed the same thinking, and the dealer states that the Carrera GT was roughly 200 pounds lighter than the GS. For 1959, it also received an enlarged version of Ernst Fuhrmann’s four-cam flat-four, now 1,587 cc and good for roughly 115 to 120 hp depending on which period figure you go by. The model kept its Carrera GS lineage in the name even after the engine grew past the original 1.5 liters. What strikes me is how familiar the formula feels. Porsche sold the Carrera GT as a road-registerable competition car alongside the more comfortable Carrera de Luxe, and anyone who has followed the GT3 and GT3 RS will recognize the thinking. Porsche was working it out decades before either existed. The seller says just 31 Carrera GTs were produced. We’ll leave that figure with them, but this car’s rarity hardly needs help. Animoya Garage in Pontiac, Michigan, is asking USD 750,000. View Listing

A Carbon-Fiber Mid-Engine Sports Car With Butterfly Doors for Under $40,000

BMW is entering another era of electrified performance with Neue Klasse, but more than a decade ago, the Bavarian automaker took a very different approach to what an electrified sports car could be. Part of the famed Project ‘i’, the original i3 and i8 look radical even by today's standards, and the latter combined exotic construction, dramatic mid-engine styling, and an unconventional hybrid powertrain unlike anything BMW had built before. Today, depreciation has made that experiment surprisingly attainable. This 2014 BMW i8, with just 19,136 miles, is currently listed for sale at Valentin Auto Sales for $37,500. Finished in Crystal White Pearl Effect with signature BMW i Blue accents, a contrasting black upper section and optional 20-inch Turbine Style 625 wheels, it remains remarkably faithful to the 2011 i8 Concept, retaining its low-slung proportions, layered bodywork, black canopy and dramatic upward-opening doors. That is remarkable, considering the i8 started at $135,700 when new. This particular example costs nearly $100k less than its original base MSRP, representing roughly 72 percent depreciation. Yet little about it feels like a $37,500 car. Its purpose-built LifeDrive architecture combines a carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic (CFRP) passenger cell with an aluminum chassis, while its butterfly doors and concept-car proportions still look futuristic; as we found when we reviewed the i8, the experience was equally unconventional.  A turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder behind the passenger compartment drives the rear wheels, while an electric motor powers the front axle. Early cars produced a combined 357 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, enough for 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds. You can explore its specifications in more detail in our earlier i8 guide. The i8 also arrived in the same era as the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari, when electrification was reshaping the upper reaches of performance. The BMW was never a rival to that seven-figure trio, but it explored many of the same ideas at a fraction of the price, a fact that still holds true today. The obvious concern today is ageing hybrid hardware. Yet the i8 has developed a better reliability reputation than its complicated specification might suggest.  The comparison with the Hypercar trio also becomes particularly interesting when replacement batteries enter the equation. Current estimates put a high-voltage battery replacement for a 2014 i8 at roughly $5,200 to $5,900. By comparison, replacement battery costs for the era’s Holy Trinity hybrid hypercars can run well into six figures, making the i8’s high-voltage system considerably less intimidating from an ownership perspective. Whether the i8 ultimately becomes seriously collectible remains to be seen. It has many of the ingredients: a standalone architecture, unusual construction, distinctive styling, historical significance as BMW Group’s first plug-in hybrid sports car, one of only two mid-engine production BMWs (the other being the BMW M1) and a relatively short production run. BMW built 20,465 examples before production ended in 2020, with 16,581 Coupes and just 3,884 Roadsters. First Edition was limited to just 200 examples globally, while enthusiast estimates put total U.S. Roadster numbers at roughly 500 or fewer, and one of those much rarer open-top cars is also currently listed on duPont REGISTRY at $67,990. Paint-To-Sample (PTS) Porsche For Sale: A High-Performanc...

When Porsche aficionados are quizzed about their preferred hue, there's a good chance they'll bypass the iconic Guards Red and instead wax lyrical about PTS. So, what exactly is PTS? It's shorthand for 'Paint to Sample,' a term that elicits a gleam in the eyes of Porsche purists. Learn how to sell your Porsche online today. Diving into the details, Paint To Sample is a dream woven into the very fabric of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur's program. If you can envision it, they aim to bring it to life. Flashback to the origins of this personalized service, where the mere mention of "Sonderwunsch" or "Special Wishes" on the order form would forge a direct link between the buyer's vision and the meticulous hands at the factory. Fast forward to today, and while the essence of Porsche's Paint To Sample remains, its scope has evolved. With a plethora of pre-approved shades ready to choose from and the advent of the Paint To Sample Plus program, the commitment to customer-centric creation is stronger than ever, offering a spectrum of shades as diverse as the dreams of Porsche's clientele. Paint to sample. A Paint To Sample Porsche 911 is just what it sounds like. If you want a car that is truly yours, the process is not complex. It opens the door to special events, and opportunities to reserve limited-run models before they are announced. What is Paint To Sample? The Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur program can make it a reality if you can dream it. In the early days, a dealer would note "Sonderwunsch", or "Special Wishes" on the order form, triggering a direct connection from the salesperson to the factory. Nowadays, Porsche's Paint To Sample has changed a bit, but "Sonderwunsch" has returned as a new customization program. What are PTS colors? Well, that's kind of a loaded question and there are many pre-approved Paint To Sample colors that can be selected, but new ones are also being created with new requests through the Paint To Sample Plus program. While Paint To Sample used to mean that the color was completely bespoke, Porsche now offers around 160 pre-approved Paint To Sample colors that are incredibly unique. The Paint To Sample Plus program is where bespoke creations and wishes from customers are granted. While this route may take longer, the result is a completely personalized paint finish. What is a PTS Porsche? A PTS Porsche refers to a Porsche that has been customized using the Paint to Sample program. Expect to see an incredibly unique and rare paint color, ranging from classic-inspired hues to avant garde shades. Because Paint to Sample is a desirable and expensive option, Paint to Sample Porsches for sale will demand a higher price. How much do PTS colors cost? The pre-approved selection of PTS colors range from $11,430 to $12,830; PTS Plus colors can cost up to $25,660. Sure, this is a substantial increase on the vehicle's price, but the result is a bespoke creation and PTS Porsches are always hot when on the market. What is Sonderwunsch? Like Paint-to-Sample, Sonderwunsch, translating from German to "special wishes," is also under the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur umbrella. Through Sonderwunsch, Porsche and its customers are able to create truly bespoke creations inside and out, with details like PTS colors, special graphics, historic liveries, detailed interiors, and more.
