While newer fans may know Martin Brundle as the quick-witted, quirky TV personality roaming the F1 paddock, longtime fans remember his days behind the wheel, when he competed in Formula 1 from 1984 to 1996 and went on to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1990. Now, his racing career is inspiring a new limited-edition build from Gunther Werks. The Gunther Werks Brundle Edition Turbo is limited to just five examples and combines Martin's motorsport background with the design work of his daughter, Charlie Brundle, who has worked with brands like McLaren Automotive, Aston Martin, and Jaguar Land Rover. The Brundle Edition is based on the Gunther Werks Turbo, which takes the familiar Porsche 911 silhouette and gives it a full overhaul. Power comes from an air-cooled 4.0L flat-six producing 860 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The car also features bespoke double-wishbone suspension, an upgraded Brembo CCMR braking system, and chassis tuning developed with Martin's input. An adjustable high-downforce rear wing and front aero add to its track-focused DNA, with dedicated Sport and Track driving calibrations that dial in the car for different conditions.Much of the car’s personality comes from Charlie's design. The exterior sports a hand-painted, two-tone pearl finish inspired by her father's racing helmet, with references to his career incorporated into the bodywork and cabin. Inside, the dashboard carries one of Martin's best-known driving observations: "The most important bit of the car is the nut holding the steering wheel." His helmet insignia, personally signed dashboard end plates, and Charlie's MB monogram embossed into the headrests add more personal touches. Other details include smoked lighting elements, bespoke forged magnesium wheels featuring Brundle branding, special door sills, and unique rear decklid lettering. Every car also comes with a Bell HP77 Formula 1-homologated helmet finished in matching colors and signed by Martin. The Gunther Werks Brundle Edition Turbo is a personal project as much as it is a car, connecting a father and daughter. From the helmet-inspired paintwork to the manual transmission and track-focused engineering, the car draws on the Brundle family, without losing sight of what Gunther Werks does best: building heavily reimagined 911s for drivers who want something truly one-of-a-kind. The Brundle Edition Turbo is scheduled to make its public debut at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas later this month.
